What are you talking about? My screen went black and I was STILL hearing punching sounds. Not "no sound". If I was knocked out, it should say "Unconscious" over the black screen. So, where's the confusion?
-
None of these comments make any sense. If I was "knocked out", why am I still being punched? So, yea, there is a bug. It should say "Unconscious" on the screen. And I shouldn't hear any punching sounds while I'm knocked out.

After about an hour, I got into a queue of 65. I waited and then actually got into the game. Having played DayZ on PC I was familiar with the map. My first spawn on DayZ XBox was on one of the worst areas of the map. I ran forever. No loot, except for a couple shirts and a can of tuna that I couldn't open. I started teleporting and rubberbanding all over the place. My first encounter with a Zombie was horrible. I tried punching it, but my fists were going through its body. I kept trying until I was killed by the Zombie. I don't know how because it wasn't even close to me when it supposedly hit me. So, I respawned a few feet from another player. They just stood there, so I walked up to them hoping to engage in a little fisty-cuffs. But, then they started teleporting all over the place. I tried keeping up with them until......BOOM....server crash. Except for some rubber-banding and teleporting, the game was pretty smooth most of the time. I'll try again later or tomorrow. I hope we don't have to wait months before its playable.

FEEDBACK NEEDED: Servers not showing in the server browser
vfxtodd replied to RaptorM60's topic in Xbox
I'm on Version: 0.63.148417 I cannot get on a server for the life of me. I've tried 20+ times. I either end up in a queue with over 100+ people. Or I sit in a queue for several minutes, then get dumped back to the server browser. Or I select a server, hit Connect, and then get thrown back to the server browser. I'm going to try a few more times, then give up until tomorrow. Hopefully, tomorrow will be a better day,. -
Same here. I sat in a Queue for several minutes only to lose the connection. I've tried multiple servers, but cannot get in. I've tried servers of all sizes population wise. I hope this gets fixed soon. I know it's early access, but I had an easier time when I played on the PC early access version.

My patience is running thin with DayZ. Playing on experimental today gives me the feeling that this game is at the very BEGINNING of its development. The zombies hit me from miles away and get me bleeding from the very first strike. Loot is quite literally non-existent. The night time looks AWESOME. Truly the best I've seen of a night time environment. Too bad the game makes me feel insulted. Yea, it's "early access". Well, that no longer works for me. Sorry. Until there is base building, a reason to grow food, or go fishing, there is nothing else to do except PvP. The loot should reflect that. But, today, the game feels worse than when I first played it over two years ago. Seriously. The experimental servers should be used to test new things. Stable should be just that. A stable experience. But, it's not. I've defended this game left and right. Development feels like it's gone one step forward, four steps back. Yea, I'll check the "notification" thingie. But, I don't suspect I'll get any replies that acknowledge that I'm not alone in this experience. I'll keep DayZ installed. I'll keep trying the new patches when they come out. I think DayZ is a great game. I love the concept, and I think it has the possibility of a long future. But, I'm feeling a little frustrated here. So, I apologize if it seems like I'm just ranting. But, I don't think I am. I think there are a lot of people out there who feel the same. I've heard from many streamers who share my frustration. Cheers. Here's to a long future for DayZ. I hope I'm around when it goes live. Thanks.

I just finished watching a YT video by DeadlySlob where he plays on a night time server. One feature I was hoping for was having a night time environment where you're not hearing deafening wind sounds (which sounded more like ocean waves). Instead, you're treated to a quiet breeze and insect and animal sounds. To me that is a much more creepier environment for the night, which adds to the dystopian world I am trying to survive in. To me, this is a HUGE improvement to the night time environment. One, that I hope, will continue onto stable, with variations of course. But, I am extremely grateful for the devs for adding this environment choice to DayZ. Now, I really want to play at night more.

The last time I played DayZ I was fortunate to find myself on a night time server. I was blown away by the new look. I spawned in one of the smaller towns along the eastern coast. And I was impressed on how the area looked like it was lit by a full moon. It looked very authentic. And it made the night even more immersive than ever before. I hope this look is maintained. I didn't mind getting pummeled by zombies while running around this cool setting. Big thanks to the devs. This is great work.

One change I hope will see the light of day in DayZ is a spreading out of spawns. Of course, I don't expect this until the game is closer to being released. But, as far as adding a variety of experiences to DayZ that this type of game engenders, spreading out spawns will go a long way in enhancing game play, IMHO. Spawning mostly on the East coast area makes game play slow and arduous since most interactions seem to happen in the western half of Chenaurus. In the current experimental patch, I see very little loot and very few instances of weapons spawning with ammo. And I don't see much food, either. I like the experimental servers because they're high pop to full most of the time. Even when I'm a fresh spawn, I prefer high pop servers to increase chances of interacting with actual people and not just zombies. I've started jumping on DayZ at least once every day I'm off from work. I want to play more. Are there plans to spread out the spawns in future iterations of DayZ?
-
First, I'm not "whining" about anything. I'm asking for a wider variety of spawn points. Hopefully some day we'll see spawns in the western half of the map. Most of my spawns are east of Kamishovo. Mostly somewhere in or around Berezino. Many times way north east in the middle of nowhere. If the game is to promise a variety of experiences, than spawning people all around the map would go a long way in providing that experience. So far, I haven't heard anything about plans to expand the spawn system. Are there plans to widen the spawn sites?

I died three times in a row thanks to desync. I think - for now - I'm calling this game "DaySync". I just wish there was more fluidity in character mechanics and movement. That much should be smooth by now, I would think. I noticed today there was an update. And now I'm bleeding from the very first strike by every zombie I encounter. I'm trying one last time - for today - to get in some decent gameplay. Thanks, therunningmanz, for your excellent streams and videos.

I've been playing on full servers for a while now, but I've been having a problem finding other players. Are there servers where you can find people in certain areas? I don't mean just for PvP, but for simply finding players. It's only been happening on this patch. Is it because players are more spread out? I've been watching streams where people don't seem to wait long before they encounter other players.

I've been having lag issues for the past two weeks on 60. I didn't have this when 60 was on experimental, and for the beginning weeks of 60 going to stable. Problem comes mostly in the form of lag spikes. But, I stop playing because I don't have a chance if I come across another player. Most people I come across just KOS me. I love the new renderer, but the benefits seemed to have disappeared recently.

DayZ Standalone Base Building is almost here! How do you plan to use it?
vfxtodd replied to DR. IRISHMIKE's topic in General Discussion
Yep. Sometimes real life becomes busier and you end up not playing DayZ for a while. So, I wouldn't want to come back after a week or so and find my base has simply vanished. I can understand if someone breaks in and loots my base. But, I don't think the base should disappear. But, I could also see my base being looted and then taken over. Where I would have to take it back by changing locks. I like the idea of creating combination locks for entrances, etc. But, of course, locks can be cut if bolt cutters are introduced into the game. The possibilities are endless. -
Since I switched back to .59 after playing on .60, I now get this error when I click on DayZ button to launch within Steam. Additionally, the frames are really low when I do get in the game. Any ideas? Click link to see image: https://www.dropbox.com/s/9p1fsd02m4yepit/dayz59_LaunchError.jpg?dl=0

I guess I shouldn't be surprised how crowded the .60 experimental servers are. Given what is to be expected of this patch. At the moment, I'm only seeing 5 experimental servers available at the moment. Will this increase? Or is this as many exp servers I should expect to see. I'm curious and anxious. Until I get in, I'll be watching popular Twitch streamers playing on .60. I can't wait to get in and play. Thanks to the devs for their hard work.

I was able to get in yesterday. The FPS was dramatically better, but I also experienced more lag on occasion. Stuttering here and there. But, I love the graphics. The fog on raining servers makes it hard for people to shoot you from a distance. So, if you're a sniper you're not going to like the rain. I can't wait to play at night. I loved what I saw in the YouTube videos on night time graphics. And I do love the new UI. I noticed they increased the pop on exp servers to 60 players. But, they definitely need more servers for more people to try it out. It's never been this hard to get on exp before. But, it's understandable, too.

End goal of the game? "PvP fiesta" or "gritty survival game"?
vfxtodd replied to WolverineZ's topic in General Discussion
I think you need to be more patient. The game hasn't even been released, yet. You're looking at a game where developers are allowing people to play it WHILE it's being developed. In such an arrangement, you're going to come across features that seem incomplete or unbalanced. That's what happens during a game's development. Items and features come and go, get tweaked, removed for a while, put back after tweaking, etc., etc. I personally see DayZ as one the most original games ever developed. I've played almost 600 hours of DayZ and I'm far from bored. Considering what's coming for patch .60, I am even more excited for the prospects of DayZ. But, that's just my opinion. -
I look forward to new renderer, especially if it means improved frames all around. Would definitely like see more "infected", hostile animals you have to kill and eat, etc. Make rare vehicles that are ready to drive, to balance out the vehicles that require an entire clan to use. There are ways to keep DayZ about survival and not just PVP. Enabling people to use vehicles without multiple players is one way to achieve that.

I'm always amazed by what people suggest to add or remove from Dayz. Who here has ever lived through an apocalypse? Cars should be harder? It already takes a squad to gather parts and tires for cars, trucks or buses. Unless you run with a large squad, it will take you days to get parts together assuming the parts you've stored haven't despawned in the meantime. I trust the devs to do a good job. Players? Not so much.
-
I know it's important to get used to changes in DayZ, like the new UI. But, when viewing the server list I cannot tell what the player count is on each server without selecting each server - one by one - and checking Details. Are there plans to add player count to the server list in the new UI? I would greatly appreciate that change. Thanks.
-
Thanks! I'll do that.
-
Since .59 went stable I have yet to find binoculars. Where do they spawn now? Thanks.
-
I notice the car batteries scattered about in .59. Do we need a car battery and plugs for the new cars, like the trucks? Or just the battery for the cars?

I found a Sporter and a mag for it on the same day...finally. This past Sunday. I've rarely ever found them the same day. Spent hours the day before playing and getting supplies only to get head shotted in the middle of nowhere on a low pop. Ahh, the world of DayZ.
