  1. Hey, emu! That was me! MrGreenjeans here...aka vfxtodd. That was so funny. I never knew crossing a little creek could be so dangerous. Looking forward to another truck. Note to self...stay on the road when driving a truck.

    SKS ammo in 0.55?

any luck finding SKS ammo in patch 0.55. I found an SKS, looking for hours. No ammo. Thoughts?

    Need some Longhorn action

Thanks, Dagwood. Yea, I would like to keep a Longhorn on my character. It fits in a backpack and its a great weapon.

    Today was a good day

Yep, I die from dehydration or starvation sometimes. But I still enjoy playing. Made new friends here on the forums and sometimes run with them. I'm looking forward to seeing the changes planned for DayZ. Have fun.

    Need some Longhorn action

Btw, I'm viewing this on my iPhone. What does that "check mark" to the right of the posters name mean? Do I click it if I like what they say? Thanks.

Thanks so much for the link! Cheers!
  9. What I would like to see fixed are the times when you see an item on top of a standalone closet but can't grab it. It seems more glitched then before. Maybe fixed in .56?

Hello, please I need some advice.

Sometimes I jump on high pop servers just so I can hopefully interact more with other players. Though many times I end up getting killed on sight. But many times I do meet others who would rather team up and gather supplies together.

DayZ is the greatest game ever made

I've played betas more "broken" or "not ready" then DayZ. Battlefield 3 comes to mind. Battlefield 4 had a horrible launch, and their devs had no excuse given the years of experience they have. So, DayZ isn't developing as fast as you like? What, is there some timeline game devs must follow when developing games? Is there a Gaming Bible that dictates such parameters? DayZ can be played in more ways than any other game I've ever played before. When DayZ goes "live" I'm betting it will roll over most games out there. Either way, I'm sticking around to see where DayZ takes us next.

DayZ is the greatest game ever made

DayZ has definitely become one of my favorite games. It stands alone in that it can be played in so many different ways. I can't think of any other game that has DayZ's variety of play styles. It's one reason I plan on sticking around to see how it develops.

    eating sounds.

Yea, I hear random sounds of ammo being combined, cans being opened, etc in the middle of nowhere. I also hear gates opening when I'm walking through a town or inside a building. DayZ is still alpha. But I do hope some day I won't hear these things unless someone is actually nearby. One thing I do hear when it's appropriate is foot steps. I've never heard walking unless someone was actually waking outside a building I was in, or walking nearby.

    Persistence question

Decay is really not an appropriate word in referring to the passing of time. Decay means to decompose or rot by bacteria or some other substance. Time doesn't decay.

    Status Report - 06 May 15

I just saw the shirtless old man zombie for the first time a few days ago. It was cool. I'm looking forward to playing DayZ. I'm rolling with the punches of updates. I'm sure the devs are doing their best.

    New map: Chernobyl and Pripyat

Yea, I see new maps as add ons after DayZ is initially released as well. It would keep me playing for years. I could jump into different locations every day. I know development of new open world maps are a huge undertaking. But I am willing to stick around to see what comes.

    Servers going dark.

If one of the reasons a server goes down is because the renter didn't pay their bill, then it would make sense to have a notice appear when someone is joining a server that says, "server rent unpaid, one week left before server goes down for nonpayment." Or something along those lines. If that's a hassle setup-wise, I wouldn't know. Just an idea.

    Had fun today on DayZ

I played with a couple new friends today, Emuthreat and Speeder. It was great fun. I'm learning a lot from my new buddies. I mean a lot! Thanks Emu and Speeder. You guys rock!

    Had fun today on DayZ

So far that's been my experience as well. It really showed me how much more you can do in DayZ, whether you're lone wolf, or playing with others. Plus, I've learned so much from the guys I'm playing with. My lone wolf runs will benefit from what I've learned as well.

DayZ is the greatest game ever made

As I've said in a post I just made, I'm having a lot of fun in DayZ. Thanks to new running buddies I've met, I'm learning a lot about the game. The more I know about the game, the better I know the map, the more fun I have. And I'm having more fun now then in some betas I've played. My only "issue" are the zombies which seem to hit me from several feet away, through walls, and when I'm standing behind them. But those moments are far and few between.

    Loot is based on .54?

the loot and ammo in DayZ seems just as rare as .55. I've had very little luck in finding ammo and weapons. Food, I can find. But even food is no where near the level of frequency as in .54. Sometimes I find enough food to survive. And sometimes I die of starvation or by zombie.

    Loot is based on .54?

So, what randomspawn said is basically the case. Hopefully, .56 will remedy the loot, etc.

    SKS ammo?

That's my problem: finding weapons but no ammo. Or finding ammo and never finding the weapon to go with. Thanks to this forum, I hooked up with a couple guys and we were able to put weapons and ammo together. Before meeting up, I decided to explore and go through towns I'd never been to before. It was actually pretty cool. I enjoyed the adventure. Somehow managed to find just enough food to survive most of the way. I only died of starvation when I strayed from the roads in an attempt to take a straight path to a specific town. The key is to make friends and not KOS. Although there will be times when someone will pretend to be alone and they're really taking you to their buddies to be robbed. Haha. But that's life in DayZ.

    Please, stop building villages everywhere

I like the idea of building forts, etc. And the implementation of vehicles. I think vehicles should spawn different places each day. This would create a balance between players access to vehicles.

    Please, stop building villages everywhere

That's a good thread, pilgrim. Thanks for sharing it. Over the long haul I can see DayZ being expanded by having an entirely new location. For instance, having a DayZ take place in another country. That would open up playability of DayZ for years to come.
