    Please, stop building villages everywhere

I'm content with the number of towns and cities DayZ has. I disagree with the OP. I too am interested in seeing DayZ expanded to other countries. It would grow the DayZ experience in so many ways.

Going bandit hunting before wipe tonight

    Pointless statement #121 ♿️

Going bandit hunting before wipe tonight

Off from work early since servers are acting up. So I'll be DayZ-ing it in about an hour.

Very true. That's why it's best to play with a partner. So you can put your heads together and work out what the next course of action should be.

Going bandit hunting before wipe tonight

Agree to disagree. Just because I didn't use your words doesn't mean mine were wrong or unclear. And killing players who are killing and robbing players is not the same as a bandit. I'm not doing it to take their supplies or gear. By your reasoning, police who shoot at people robbing banks are bank robbers, too. Makes no sense.

I'm fine. Since I can't read minds, and since there are jerks and nice people on these forums there's no way to know after a couple posts whether or not someone is trolling me. I'm still playing the game the way I want to. Enjoy your day.

Going bandit hunting before wipe tonight

Douche-baggery? So, killing players for their loot is perfectly fine, but defending players who are the ones being killed and robbed is not? How is this a problem? How am I "justifying" the defense of players being robbed? Oh, and "bandit hunting" hasn't been in use since 1992? DayZ hasn't been around since 1992. So what is your reasoning behind your comment?

Going bandit hunting before wipe tonight

I define bandits by players who stop other players to rob them of their loot, usually killing the player before robbing them. Or they camp out purely for the sake of shooting players that walk by them. Or they camp and snipe players. Basically, players that kill on sight fall into the Bandit category. This is a survival game. So if you're "surviving" by killing other players, you're a bandit in my book.

    Most detested item in Persistence

I heard that clothes will sometimes spawn already damaged. What's the point of that?

There are no good Dayz SA youtubers?

I disagree completely. Five minute DayZ videos rarely show enough to be remotely entertaining. DayZ covers miles of land in the game. Five minute videos might get a giggle out of you, but are way too short for me. To the OP, there is plenty of YouTube content for DayZ. Blackout81 has several series he's created for DayZ. He has his Hardcore series. His diary series. Silo has tons of fun videos. Their videos are also helpful in learning how to play DayZ well. I probably saw well over 100 DayZ videos before I started playing. What I learned from them has helped me adapt to and enjoy the game. Keep searching on YouTube. There's plenty of DayZ content.

I hate DayZ but I love it so much...

I'm no software dev. But it only makes sense - to me - that the more content you add to a game, the "heavier" the game gets and performance takes a hit. The more content, the bigger the hit. I played the Battlefield 3 beta. Boy, what a pain that experience was. What was the biggest problem? Performance. Lag. Lots and lots of lag. Players were able to get under the map and shoot players from underneath the "ground". But, ultimately, performance was the biggest issue. All the content that was planned for launch was in. So I'm with the posters that say that performance is best addressed - thoroughly- after all the content is in. In the meantime, I'm enjoying DayZ despite its alpha state. I love the premise and design of DayZ. So I'm sticking around. If you want to have a voice in the dev of DayZ, then you might want to stick around, too.

It's the middle of the week, again

Officially, it said .56 will be "rolled into" .57. So, I'm guessing you might be right. Assuming "rolled into" means bundled. It might've been clearer to say that ".56 will be combined with .57 at the end of the month". But, that's just me.

    1. It's not for you to judge, Caboose. Who elected you as the moral overlord of the forum? This is a public forum. Not Caboose's personal man-cave to flex your ego and shoot lighting bolts down from the sky at unsuspecting people. 2. People complain because they have zero clue about game development? You have no "clue" about what anyone is thinking. You don't like what someone else's opinions are? Grow up. Stop pretending you're in charge. How often do you talk to other people besides yourself? You seem to have no understanding of human nature at all. Unless you can offer a useful suggestion or view that doesn't involve attacking someone else, keep your thoughts to yourself. This forum is for everyone. It's not Caboose's private Idaho. Show some respect.

    1. I don't think it's "classy" to call people idiots or whiners on a public forum. Forums provided by game devs will always have people complaining about the game. It comes with the territory. 2. People complain mostly because they're frustrated or impatient. Sometimes their complaints are valid. Sometimes their complaints are borne of laziness. As someone famous once (kind of) said, "Let he who has never complained, cast the first stone." This is a public forum designed by the devs to help the devs with their games' development. If you don't like or agree with what's being said here, tough. Get used to it. It's s part of life, One day, you'll have a complaint that you consider legitimate. Would you like to be attacked for it? Of course not. So don't attack others regardless of what you think about their views.

I know Wednesday is server maintenance day. Can anyone tell me what time the servers go down Pacific Standard Time? How long are they down for? Thanks.

Are there any plan on forcing a Day/Night cycle?

I'm sorry. Forcing night and day would be a game breaker. Especially if you force people to play based on their local time zone. Most of the time, I can only play at night, after work. So, if you get your way, I will only ever play DayZ at night. The game is fine as it is. You only have to look on the server browser to see there are plenty of night time servers running at any one time.

    Massivly unplayable

Junos talks about seeing a lot of condescension in this thread and then condescends himself. You think the 3rd person view is combat breaking? This is a survival game, not Call of Duty. Second, I find that the 3rd person view is important when you're new to the game. It still is for me because I don't know the map as well as others. Plus, that's just your point of view. Let people play the game as they see fit. Life goes on.

    Battle Royale?

I've seen many YouTube videos where players put together a battle royale game. It doesn't require a mod. You just have to call together enough players to make it worthwhile. Why not go to the Recruitment forum and ask if anyone wants to join in a battle royale game and see what happens?

Yes, going inland is your best bet. Here are some things that helped me. 1. Go to Recruitment forum, and ask if anyone would join you in the game. Playing with others goes a long way to surviving in DayZ. 2. Every time you find food...eat it. You might get stuffed. But, eventually you'll get energized, which is what you want. 3. When you're "energized" and "hydrated" you can last a long time before worrying about food. Be sure, though that both "energized" and "hydrated" are bright green in color. 4. Don't attack people in forums. They're human just like you. If you don't like what they're saying, move along. Or calmly suggest a solution to their problems no matter how small you think they are. 5. Go inland when you spawn. Unless you want to lay down on the shore to get a tan. Going inland is your best bet. Thanks. Please feel free to offer the OP more suggestions.

Stop telling folks to take a break.

Despite all the bugs and glitches, I'm actually having fun in DayZ. Sure I get annoyed with the glitchy zombies sometimes. But as I've said before, I've had more problems in some of the betas I've played. That said, I'm sticking around to see where DayZ goes from here. Some people whine and say, "Stop saying it's still in alpha, that's no excuse. Whaaaaa!!" Well, sorry, but it is in alpha no matter how much that upsets you.
  22. I disagree. The whole point of seeing the vicinity view with the inventory is so you can make sure you actually picked up the item and "pocketed" it. In real life, when you pick something up and put it in your pocket you can "feel" it going into your pocket. You can't "feel" anything in DayZ. In the case of looting, you have to "see" that you're keeping what you're picking up. So, a big screaming "no" to that idea. Another big giant "no" to the idea of holding a button down while looking for loot to pick up. You already have to press buttons down to pick up loot. Now you want to throw in another button to press or hold down at the same time? You're setting yourself up for a case of carpal tunnel syndrome. These ideas might "sound" good while thinking about them. But, I truly believe that if implemented you will regret it. Sorry.
  23. I've met a couple players here in the forum. One of them, emuthreat, was nice enough to let me try out his Longhorn. I wish I could find Longhorns more often. I find the ammo for it all the time. Just not the Longhorn itself. Any advice on where I can find a Longhorn? Thanks.
  24. vfxtodd

    Need some Longhorn action

I'll be on DayZ in a little bit. I saw on YouTube that the tall building in Novo is good for longhorns too.
  25. I'd be happy to join the Commission next time I land in Chenaurus.
