    Ingame "I" button stats display.

Those stats are from the regular Arma2 game as well. You see kills, deaths the vehicles are the number of vehicles you've destroyed that are enemy owned and the number of aircraft that are enemy owned. In this mod, the vehicles may be considered "friendly" vehicles so when you destroy them, it actually counts as detroying a friendly vehicle. In regular Arma2, if you are Blufor, and kill an Opfor vehicle, you get a +1. If you are Blufor and destroy a Blufor vehicle you get a -1 in that category.

    Battleye's a joke...

The problem is all those scripts that are being run are NOT hacks. They are designed to be part of the Arma2 game. The regular servers have been runnign for years relying on the scripting ability built into the Arma2 engine to bring unique and fun missions and mods. A good mission maker can create a large scale combined arms combat mission for 30 or 60 players with triggers, teleporting from debug to spawns etc all in a few hours. Not many other games make that possible. The popularity of DayZ has brought a LOT of players who have no experience with Arma2. They don't realize what the game engine allows. Scripting is a problem in DayZ but it is meant to be there for Arma2, that is why Battleye doesn't kick for it. The Arma2 community is also a lot more mature and tends to have more integrity regarding gaming. Yes some still script and take advantage but with regular communities, individual admins can ban them or kick them or give them a warning. Figuring out HOW to recognize scripts being run on a regular game server as opposed to a DayZ server is not an easy task I imagine. So yes, understanding is needed.

True, but without access to the Arma2 engine the parachute option can actually be done by Rocket et al. If not realistic, it can at least make one annoying script kiddie trick less effective.
  4. No, this is not correct at all. DayZ is not a game, it is a mod for a game that has been running for years and whose engine HAS been optimized many times over the years. DayZ runs on the same engine. This freezing crash issue with nVidia has been happening for as many years with Arma2. Nobody has pinned down the cuase or fixed it yet but it has nothing to do with optimization or heat. My regular playing group get the crash at all temperatures, on many different mission maps and game modes. I'm sure I will get it in DayZ as well, just have not had it happen yet.
  5. I have been getting this in Arma2 for years off and on. Some nights it happens more than others. It seems after a long long time noticing the conditions it happens under that when there are multiple actions, explosions, shooting all at once especially if I'm flying a helicopter or jet the crash occurs. I can't be more specific than that as it is just a vague association. I've never had that crash in DayZ however. My drivers are always up to date etc. It is not a vid card issue, it is something with the game itself that causes the crash. Several friends also get it periodically and consistently the past few years, regardless of updates and drivers. Have you checked the BI forums...there may be new info on there, but it has been going on so long I doubt it's even being worked on.

annoying....and an easy fix. Devs should just implement automatic parachute deployment that doesn't have to be triggered by ejecting from an aircraft. If you are high up in elevation, chute comes out.

    Dayz friendliest server???

If you do come across one, keep it a secret, like your best fishing hole. As soon as you post here, it will be over run with fools and script kiddies.

A one in a million encounter...

There are no friendly hackers, there are only hackers and they should all be globally banned as soon as possible. Hackers, even "friendly" ones ruin this mod. The OP would have been better off to shoot at him even if he died. At least that action would have had a little integrity.
  9. That is all the rest of Arma2. Just browse the servers. Filter out DayZ and you get all the military combat servers.
  10. Then you are looking to play the Zargabad Life or Takistan Life mods. Similiar to DayZ as far as the build it up and survive is concerned but no zombies. They are both set in urban plus rural environments where you choose to be the law enforcement side or the civilian side who tries to make a legitimate living fishing or farming and trading or mining etc....or harvesting and selling drugs and running guns and all that goes with that. The police enforce the law and are supposed to jail the criminals when caught and protect the civilians who are not criminals....and all the drama that goes with it. Quite fun, but the social experiment element is lacking I find. The "rules" that are inherent in these mods make them hard to find a working server unless lots of impartial admins are on. DayZ at least has no rules, everything is player created, the gameplay, the "economy", factions, groups etc (granted none of DayZ is working well right now because of the hack/script epidemic but the spirit is there). There is the good and bad, try it out and let everyone know what you think.

    US 486 combat logger

This is a crappy thing for him to do, but it is not cheating. There are enough cheater reports going on here, dont' clog up the channel with annoyances that are not banned or "illegal".
  12. slyder73

    Just banned 3 hackers

The L85 has a thermal scope in DayZ. It is not the standard thermal you see in Arma2, the grescale, it is the same redscale you get with the metis thermals but it is in DayZ legit.
  13. The Operation Arrowhead addon or the stock Arma2 is great. You just have to filter down through the DayZ servers to find other servers. There is Co-op mode which is very simulated military tactics of human team against AI. There is the regular human vs. human combat servers (not many of those around these days... just filter for "C5" They play every night and are a mature gaming group been around for years). There are also some other mods for Arma2 out there, RPG mods like Takistan Life etc where you play civilian or police or gang and try to make a living "by the rules" etc. Good multiplayer human vs human and no AI. Good mature gameplay with a group that has been playing for years is what most long term Arma2 servers are. Arma2 is a very realistic military sim. DayZ is a great mod but the best parts of Arma2 can't be used in DayZ (great cooperative combat, the infantry calling in the bombing strike from the A10 overhead etc....) Arma2 was never meant for the gameplay that DayZ uses; the single guy on the ground with no support, communication or armour/air backup. Try it out, but play some of the training and single player first just to get an idea of how it and the controls work.
  14. You take an axe chop to the head or shoulder and see how much you bleed without stitches.
  15. I think unique player ID 1,000,000 should come with a gold suit, tall shoes, and lots of gold bling. Anyone who kills that player can take the skin from the body.

    Map Hacks

If there was no debris then you were not covered at all. That grass you think you are in was only visible to you close up, not to him as he drove up until he got quite close but by then he'd already seen you. Go to an open field and look out into it. You will see a line where the grass no longer is drawn. Anyone outside of that sees no grass around you. Worth keeping in mind in the future. Try laying under trees or in bushes so distant players are less likely to see you.
  17. slyder73

    Map Hacks

Some of the hacks you are talking about happen a lot. (God mode, teleport, making everyone visible etc.) BUT....The part of your report that might be legit play though was you laying in the grass in a ghillie suit as a vehicle drove up. Outside of 50meters (about), that grass doesn't exist. Grass is only drawn in close for your decorative purposes so anyone driving up from far away would actually see you laying there all big and fluffy in the ghillie suit in an empty field.

    Players Hacking RCon

That one has been around for years. The regular server I play Arma2 on used to get hacked like that and it made it harder for the owner to get control back and ban them.
  19. slyder73

    Just banned 3 hackers

It's only a matter of time till you get battleye banned globally now... Good riddance. Good riddance to your buddies too. Take a vid of you smashing your keyboard and crying and post it for us to see ok?
  20. Go fight to the death and die. Either that or disconnect because the hackers will get you in the next day somehow anyway. Enjoy the good stuff for some action while you can. Ambush and kill and rob a group of their in use vehicle, drive it far away and resave it. Take said vehicle down to beach and help outfit new spawns. Set up a sniper trap near high use areas and become the dreaded bandit sniper. OR...go up to Green Mountain if you dare.
  21. slyder73

    Vehicle didn't spawn?

I'm in posession of a very nice truck full of stuff that I "liberated" from it's hiding place in a tree by an empty tent. Hidden vehicles are rarely as well hidden as you think. :beans:
  22. slyder73

    Missing Vehicles

The helicopters don't target vehicles so it's likely someone is just doing a much better job of hiding them. I found a VERY well hidden UAZ with a full complement of weapons and packs the other day and "liberated" it. (Sorry to whoever is missing all that stuff LOL) I doubt it would have been visible from the air or any road. It was deep inside a clump of trees that covered the roof entirely and it was an accident I saw the empty tent sticking out of the tree beside it that got my attention.
  23. Don't even link crap like that. It just glorifies the hacking epidemic and encourages the idiots to do emulate what they see.
  24. Find the correct drivers etc for your headset, then set up the surround sound as best it can do in the Windows settings. When you go into game it should work better for you. EDIT: Sorry, I see you found the solution. Enjoy the good sound now! :beans:
