I really don't get why people keep asking for more different guns in the game. There's a fucking collection in already! Should be enough for anyone tbh. Seriously the Magnum in DayZ does not fit the role "high powered handgun". It fits the role "does not need a magazine". And some variation isn't bad either. -
Jamming should only happen with damaged weapons or ammo and it doesn't really make sense to give semi-auto fire a lower chance of jamming. Automatic rifles already have the disadvantage of wasting ammo, somewhat lower accuracy, being much harder to find and wearing down faster (because you are firing more rounds on average and in quicker succession). If people think of it as op its because they are thinking in common FPS-terms where most of its disadvantages (weight, recoil etc.) were phased out or reduced to make it "more fun" (success is debatable) or because logistics don't play a role in some games (like CoD) - they do play a much bigger role in DayZ though. And maybe because some nostalgic German (ex-)soldiers still mourn their "real rifle".

Death Cooldown (this is going to be really unpopular...)

I think the current death timer is too short but 12 hours are way too long. People want to play the game and they want to play it with their friends and when they got time. However death should be a major setback you can't shrug off easily. Right now freshspawns or mugged people have nothing to lose and often choose (potential) death as result. A longer death timer would actually make it favorable to sneak past those highly geared players instead of charging them with your fists up. I think the timer is best when you pick the maximum time most people are "okay" with - and add another 10%. -
I never have to wait on server restart. Just wait until the server kicks you (or stops responding) instead of leaving before. But yeah those 99 seconds are pretty annoying - because its far too short to prevent people from server hopping which leads to an overabundance of highly geared players.

I don't. For starters adding pooping without nudity would require your feces to go right through your clothes. Personally I do not like this idea. Wounds are actually unrelated other than running by the same arguments. The time-scale is "how I would do it" aka "my own perferred priorities". Not much adamant here.

Its the Buckshot - if it was a slug it would also need to be much more accurate. I can confirm this issue for the sawn-off where I also got strange "phantom shots": I could fire 3-8 shots but only two left a single bullet hole each.

This mosin guy wasn't dead yet. However he might have bled to death soon after - given he did not wake up and bandage himself.

And for the tacticool guys Scar, beretta arx160, fn fal, steyr aug, g36, g22 FROM THE MUSEUM: 1853 Enfield Musket Crockett Pistol Blunderbuss Shashka Personally I think most of those are a little too american and you might not find them in a former sowiet state even after a NATO "visit". But I think it would be a good idea to credit them because otherwise they will appear again and again. -

Updated. Added a Gag as a acoustic version of the Burlap Sack and Rubber Gloves that might prevent you from getting an infection. I also included the latest pictures for gloves and the dyeing action. -
Not completely random but semi-random would be nice. This means randomizing some of the following: - helicopter crash sites (got those in experimental) - wells (only some of the current locations) - trees and bushes (some deviation in exact position and type) - buildings (types and sometimes rotation) - deer stands (similar to wells but more common) - spawns (players, animals and zombies) and things I did not think about yet. The point is to have the same map on a macroscopic level (so the ingame map holds) but its different on a microscopic level.

Actually it wasn't. Sure in the hands of a very experienced and skilled shooter the G3 is more powerful (thats why it stays the designated marksman rifle) but for the common grunt that does much more running than actual shooting the G36 is the way to go as its both lighter and easier (thats why people compare it to a toy). And thats how the G3 could work in DayZ as well. It should have enough recoil and weight for the average player to say "Fuck this - I am switching back to the M4" but enough damage and accuracy to make up for this when you manage to control it.

Admins selling guns with infinite ammo for real money o_O

If its a public hive ad they charge real money for it thats definitely a lie. The developers might be okay with a private hive that is free or only allows members. But this way its just selling cheats. Also I am not sure if you won't get banned by Battle Eye when joining another server with this - DO NOT BUY (should be obvious)! -
Before they add pooping they should add nudity and (limited) gore - because the same arguments apply here. Having a game where you can take a shit but don't suffer visible wounds and can't go clothless (despite having clothing options otherwise) is a little stupid. To make it clear: I am not talking about sex or splatter-like gibs (though libido might also make for an interesting game mechanic). So for me: Pooping only if they also add wounds and nudity (if we want it realistic) otherwise no pooping please (if we want to keep it a normal game).

If we think of them as the ballistic energy (I used about the wikipedia Joule values for scale) and keep 7.62x51mm at 8000 we get: 7.62x54mmR = 8471 (true Mosin/SVD rounds) 7.62x51mm = 8000 7.62x39mm = 4941 5.56x45mm = 4000 5.45x39mm = 3294 (AK-74 rounds) .357 Magnum = 2118 .45 ACP = 1674 9x19mm = 1412 (parabellum) 9x18mm = 706 (Makarov) .22 LR = 471 This is by no means accurate but supports your opinion.

First: Rarity - its a military weapon (the term "battle rifle" tells us) and as such it is more effective than the much older Mosin which is a civilian firearm in the era of DayZ (WW2 and before). So its quite unreasonable to find it nearly as much. Second: Recoil and weight - the G3 fires full-power bullets in contrast to M4 (small caliber) and AKM (medium power). This makes it heavier and limits magazine size. Also the stronger rounds increase the recoil making it harder to actually hit your target. Those are the main reasons while the German army switched to the G36 which is considerably lighter and easier to handle. So in the end the G3 would work similar to the AKM but with more damage and recoil.

A very good idea - it would also cause every server to be somewhat different so you can't relay on third party information that much. I would like to see this system implemented for things like berry bushes, deer stands or wells as well. Especially the last are far too common in my opinion - reducing their number by ~70% but keeping all locations (randomizing between them) would do the job and might give us a reason to actually drink from ponds and lakes. Even houses could work in a similar fashion: Whats a police station on one server might be a fire station on another and a simple residential building on the third. So if you are looking for specific loot you better get to know the server or search around instead of just opening a map in your browser. Of course the general locations (towns, cities, bases) will still be similar but not 100% identical. -

Added those items though many of the mod survivor clothes are already ingame (Baseball Cap, Tactical Vest) or on the list (Dress Shirt, Gun Holster). Also added the Military Officer Cap even though we will get a (similar) Police Officer Cap soon. -
Thats not clever. You miss about 90% of the current gameplay if you do so. Bonus points for then complaining about "lack of endgame content" or "nothing left to do" - thats just like skipping all levels but the last and then complaining about "only one level". No. People don't want to wait for 5-10min bfore logging only because they were in a firefight or fought off some zombies before. Also this arbitrary item differentiation does not suit the game. Cue camping those spots for easy gear. Not a very good idea especially as you might need to walk quite a lot until you can savely log off. Maybe its better to add a unique animation to logging so you can see if someone will disappear soon. Also bleeding should prevent logging off just like handcuffing does.

Pretty much this. High loot servers spam the hive with too much loot which results in players gearing up way to fast and way to easy - missing about 90% of the current gameplay in the process and in the end causing an overpopulation of bored (if you skip right to the end there is not really much left to do) fully geared players. They should not be part of the public hive. Friendly servers are (if people follow the rules) just social servers for gearing up and can cause similar issues as high loot servers. The rest has less impact in my opinion and just offer a particular type of gameplay - which is okay even inside a public hive. But they might spam the server browser for people who really want to play the full game (which includes nighttime, real looting*, KoS, bandits and friendlies) - we need an option to filter them out. *The type where you need supplies etc. and thus need to search for loot while also watching your back. -
Added the first picture to my collection. But I really think you are overdoing it with the slots - about half of your suggestion (2-3 for civilian, 4-6 for military) should be enough.

Thats definitely something the game needs - along with more consistent footsteps and maybe even birds flying away if someone comes too close. -
People like shaming others for not behaving like they think they should. Its kind of saying: "You can do what you want as long as you do what I want you to do." Thats just human nature. In the end its better if people just play the game their way and do not concern themselves with those pesky manipulation attempts. Chernarus needs villains as much as it needs heros, opportunists and bystanders.

Its more like skipping the early game and starting the game with a reward without having to earn it. Some people don't get (or don't want to get) that being fully geared should not be the default state but a very rare condition that requires you to find/get the gear and stay alove while doing so. Its also a cyclic problem: Many people loot up on empty servers and then join populated servers for action. In fact you can usually loot in relative peace on those populated servers because so many players just stick to the coast which is supplied with fresh loot by server restarts and geared players getting killed. Now if you want action you are facing an overpopulation of fully geared players. As those already skipped a major part of the game they get bored and start hunting down other players - who can only hope to get lucky at some point (which takes time) or gear up on empty servers first (which aggravates the issue). Possible solutions: - significantly increased server switch times (Beta) - private hives (Final) In Alpha it could be fixed but its not really necessary because this phase focuses on game mechanic testing - game dynamics are more relevant from Beta onwards.
