    Poison Arrows

    It wouldn't hurt if you could craft or gather a variety of different poisons with different properties. Some might cause pain making every move a terrible decision, some might make you sick, some might cause hallucinations, blindness or unconsciousness but none should simply increase the damage or instantly kill the victim. Also the way to get rid of them might be different. For some cooking meat might be enough but others will stick. Also some might only work if they enter the blood stream while others need to be ingested etc. Possible sources: MushroomsBerries, FruitsChemicals (both medical and industrial)Herbs, RootsAnimals (snakes, insects etc.)Now those could be applied to a variety of items including food, melee weapons and archery weapons. They should not work with guns unless you are using special equipment like tranquilizer darts.
  3. There are limited options for polls but you can replace them. The current poll is about camo patterns and the last was about clothing slots (thats why some of them are colored). It will change at some point until I got all paragraphs covered (next poll in ~two weeks).

    You ask whats worse and yet the choices seem to suggest you are asking whats better. Thats pretty confusing. I vote for KO and I also think if there is any reason to vote for death it should be removed because death is not supposed to be better than any other state.

    So right now its concealment == cover in most cases? There is still a lot of work to do... What about trees and other types of fences?

    Ways to identify people in your group

    What about just adding additional faces until we got enough to recognise people by them? Would also give masks some additional use. Color markings and other clothin-related identification are indeed good ideas. So good in fact that they were brought up like 10000000 times.

    It come with more upsides (read above) - friends can still log out together but need some regrouping when logging in which actually benefits the game as there won't be a squad spawning in the building right next to you. Still 100m might be a little far. Maybe as short as 20m would do the job.

    List of stuff, that should be added.

    They should add animations for this. So instead of sitting there or making a dance your survivor will lay down for some sleep. This way a lgging player is distinguishable from others. Maybe make it possible to access his/her inventory during this phase (extend for ~10s once if the inventory is open while the body should disappear) because otherwise finding a someone in this pose would make most people kill for the loot. Also when logging in a getting up animation could be played.

    No I don't like spawn protection. There is nothing more frustrating than invulnerable players. Especially in a realistic setting. Even if you can't attack you can still do a lot of things and then attack after your protection fades. same for logging out. If someone knows you are there and comes after you he should not be stopped by logging out. Actually I would like it if you could rob a logging player without killing him.

    AKM vs SKS

    In theory: SKS: + easier to find + does not need magazines + higher accuracy AKM + more attachments + can fire in full automatic + higher ammo capacity if you found a magazine In other regards like recoil or noise they should be fairly similar. In reality the SKS should do slightly more damage (longer barrel) but I don't think this will find its way into the game. However, it seems like the AKM is more accurate right now (probably a bug or due to ongoing balancing/mechanics development).

    Anti- Ghosting measures

    I like the idea with the safe zone around players. It makes playing with friends a little bit more complicated as you have to regroup even if you logged out together but thats actually a good thing overall. The radius prevents both intentional and accidental logging in next to an "enemy" as well as instant reinforcements for a group that is camping inside a buildung. For flanking, repositioning etc. its would be enough to also add a significant server switch time (right now its 100 seconds which is way too short) but there is no reason to add this for simple spawning. Still this short timer plus your body staying there for another 30s made ghosting much riskier and probably reduced the number of serverA->serverB->serverA ghosters but it doesn't do much against serverB->serverA ghosting reinforcements.
  13. Semi-auto is much more controllable and does not eat your ammunition nearly as fast. Thats why some assault rifles don't feature full-auto at all and replace it with burst mode instead. I hope both the AKM and the MP5 will get their fire mode switch in the future.

    Corrected. Thats not unusual and you better get used to it. Just extract the essence of both sides and you will learn even if nobody wins.

    Sporter 22 Mags loot

    I think Sporter and Sporter magazines should not be found on military sites - it just doesn't make much sense as .22LR is too weak for military purposes Its a weapon for hunting and sports and should be found where one expects such a weapon. Finding Sporter 22 equipment on a military site is like the game showing you a trollface. As is having to visit military bases for getting its magazines. AKMs on the other side should not spawn in residential areas - players who want military equipment better risk looting a military place. In the end both the Sporter and the AKM should not be found in police stations as the former is "too civilian" and the latter is "too military". Good police weapons are the SKS and MP5 for example (they are not overly powerful as the AKM but feature the stopping power the Sporter 22 lacks).

    Starting weapon

    Zombies are easily killed using fists as long as you circle them and attack their head. No problem unless they hit you and you bleed out after the fight because you can't find bandages or something to tear into rags. Spawing with a stick is stupid - because you can literally find them everywhere. Being able to attack using a flashlight or wooden sticks (I believe right now only ashwood sticks work as weapon) would be enough. Then you could also decrease fist damage.

    Possible reward for early access testers?

    While I do not like the "reward" aspect giving unique medium performance items to testers once persistent items are active is actually not a bad idea. Those items should never respawn though so lost is lost and destroyed is destroyed. They also should not give the player an advantage over standard items. An alternative could be special starting items (of course also usable by other players if "given to them") like a different kind of flashlight, T-Shirt or Jeans. Again no gameplay advantage but only cosmetic changes.

    Modular Helmet

    I thought it was an established background fact that there was a NATO operation in Chernarus including at least US soldiers. Obviously and realistically these should use their own helmets and those are MICH and ACH. Of course it also means those kind of equipment should be limited in the same way as NATO weaponry which as of now is helicopter crash only. Also thanks for providing the name of that helmet - yes it should definitely be added and probably be more common than NATO helmets.

    New suggestions for next DayZ update

    1. In fact there is far too much ammo. Most games where I play for a longer period of time I run around like rambo just shooting things to make use of my ammunition. I probably just got unlucky as especially 7.62x54mmR (called 7.62x51 in game) is pretty abundant (not as much as .357 though and .22 while more rare gives you a lot of ammo if you find it). I think magazines are a little rare compared to weapons but thats all. 2. Yeah some buildings have no lott spawns. Most of them a residential ones so the issue can be solved by moving the supply spawns from police stations or military buildings to them instead. Why do we find tons of food in military and public buildings anyways? 3. Why? Whats the problem? Coast only spawns might help with initial orientation but they also help with initial getting sniped. as long as you don't spawn near military bases and you spawn point is in the wilderness its okay.

    Starting weapon

    No starting weapons please. Fists are strong enough. Earn your power instead of getting it for free. The absolute highest a freshspawn should get is being able to strike someone with his flashlight.

    Server Browser Filter

    So I just started the game and went to the server browser. When looking at the list I lost my motivation to join one. Why? Because the list was full of "friendly", "high loot", "2h restart" etc. with some experimental servers mixed in. So it actually needs a lot of effort to find a suitable server (outside of favorites). My suggestion: Add an option to filter out servers with a certain string in their name or just add a blacklist feature to manually sort out servers. And if there is any interest in enforcing the rules for public hive servers also add an automated report feature to the browser as well.

    let people choose what item they want when they spawn

    No. I would like it if you could choose from some different clothes (balanced with the default start gear) but the flashlight is just there to make (re)spawning at night less painful. Otherwise you should start with no items. Also people throw away their flashlights because most play on daylight servers while nighttime has some issues (mainly lighting). Fix them and you will see more people playing at night. And if you still play day only you really don't need an item to help you get started.

    Gun Nut: Get kills (zombies and animals count) with ten different guns in a single life. First of his Name: Get killed by a boar. The Dreaded: Kill 100 players in a single life. Bounty Hunter: Kill a player who killed 100 or more people in this life. Early Bird: Harvest 100 worms. Gun Control: Survive for 5 hours without picking up a gun. Technical Pacifist: Survive for 10 hours without directly killing another player. True Survivor: Survive for 100 hours. Dressed to Kill: Collect and equip a full military outfit of a specific type complete with matching weapon and filled magazine. Guerilla: Kill 100 military geared players while wearing no military gear yourself (weapons do not count). End of a Debate: Kill a player who just hit you with a 9mm/.45APC pistol using a .45 APC/9mm pistol. Sharpshooter: Kill a player from over 1000m away. Poisoner: Kill a player with poisoned food. Viking: Loot 200 corpses at the coast. Atheist: Use a religious book to craft a fireplace.
