Ít would be a little bit more relaxing if you were able to let go instead of pressing W all the time. And you can still use the free look. I do see the problem of people running down cliffs though. Well, its especially important for those players because they are used to getting everything they want without any effort at all. ;) -
I would like to shoot through them (depending on meterial and weapon) and I would like them to make noises when opened/closed.

If you can scan a face you can also scan if its a legit face - you need this for animations anyways. -
I think many players on low pop servers are afraid of other players and thus might react a little extreme when actually meeting someone when they just want to be left alone looting. You might also meet serverhopping clannies who joined the server for loot and for them you are just a potential threat and rival.

Well, I can communicate with people by pressing capslock and talking into my microphone. People seem to react and understand but I am not exactly sure how well (according to steam voice test it should be okay). There is also a written chat but I don't like to use it. It also has a shorter range, no directional information (maybe the reason for the short range) and shows your name.

Can anyone explain this "we got too much so we have to remove everything" logic to me? From my understanding its not only flawed (as in completely wrong) but also very unhealthy for anything its applied to. I agree that any supply spawns should be reduced eventually but I would like to see some things before: respawning loot (no its not realistic - realism would lead to a stone age culture with zombies as modern supplies disappear from the world)server restarts instead of resets (keep loot state)a fix to server hoppinga finalized "player organism model" (meaning all thats left is finding the best parameters)believable animal AiSo loot rarity is probably an issue but probably an issue for beta, Right now gauging the right amount might be a waste of time depending on how drastically the world model will change.

Thats not a problem. But a possible solution is not doing this: Why? Because any kind of "enforced gameplay serves" is bad as the game lives from a mixture of different player types. You need both good and bad guys for a good experience. Now if you concentrate good guys on "friendly servers" you reduce the chance of meeting friendlies elsewhere. And if you concentrate bad guys on "PvP" servers you will get less villains elsewhere - resulting in a sharp drop of challenge. Note that the good guys are the ones losing here because you will find enough bad guys who intentionally join the "wrong" server for trolling purposes. In short: "Friendly only" servers are a bad thing as they reduce friendliness ingame. -
Optimization of game mechanics is part of alpha though. Especially of basic ones like vaulting or taking damage (or using a quickslot key).

I like to disagree here. People should figure out how it is done and report their observations. If every "honest player" stays away from this the "scumbags" will still use it but it will take longer to fix because "they" won't help preventing it from happening.

I think the main reason they did not use 9mm Makarov is to avoid confusion with 9mm Parabellum. Now .380 APC looks very different and the cartridge is also much more popular and many 9mm Makarov weapons also have versions that use either 9mm Parabellum or .380 APC. I also wonder why there is no FN FAL on the list when there are both the G3 and the M14. However a Battle Rifle would require the introduction of the 7.62x51mm cartridge (not we do not have this - we got 7.62x54mmR and a wrong name) both for gameplay (making the NATO round rare would allow for some high grade western weapons you struggle getting ammo for without crippling more common eastern ones like the Mosin) and authenticity reasons (turns out eastern countries didn't like big powerful rounds nearly as much as western ones). -
Its a nice collection but I find it painful to read. Any chance the OP gets some kind of sorting? Also this " --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- " makes it very long without any good reason but making people tired by having the scroll 100 times.

You know good AI is bad for performance? Also game AI development has basically stopped many years ago. So any human NPC wouldn't be believable, especially compared to the real players around and also eat lots of resources. Better stick with the real deal. What I hope to see are hostile animals and stronger zombies - which is much easier as you don't have to take the whole deception, abstraction and communication thing typical for humans. Zombies are straightforward because nobody will complain if they are dumb as a lantern post. Just make them more durable (at least as durable as freshspawns) and numerous. Zombies right now are just a annoyance to players and don't even work for combat training because they die so fast. Animals need a big boost as well but here its more difficult because they should have a believable AI. But first they need to be more durable as well (why the hell are all non-player-entities made out of glass in this game?) and much faster. Then they need to flee earlier - right now you can often run into melee didtance before they even react - and defend themselves if everything else fails (try to punch a boar to death in real life). Hostile animals are even harder as contary to zombies they should not charge at every human they see but only pick wounded and lone survivors and also try to sneak upon them. In short: Zombies are easy -> "Brains?! CHAAAAARGE!" Deer is relatively easy -> "Oh crap, I spotted a human. RUN FOR YOUR LIFES!" Boar is harder -> "Oh crap, run! Shit I am trapped, but I won't go down without a fight!" Wolves are pretty hard -> "A group of well armed humans? We should run or hide. A single wounded human? Lets have dinner!" And humans are impossible to implement in a satisfying way.

Shoot? They are dumb, they are slow and they die from very little damage. You can just run up and punch them to death! And if you have a Fireaxe its not even childs play (Fireaxe makes any PvE trivial).

You could just use multiple layers and wrap it around the head in addition to putting something in the victims mouth. Might take a little longer but the results should be much better. Thats basically a gag made out of duct tape (there might also be a clothing version).

The gear was "worn" back then buit today it should range from damaged (if you are lucky) to ruined. WWII was ~70 years ago. -

As long as they only make it for jogging and walking speed there is no problem with it. But there shouldn't be auto-sprint because you are not supposed to sprint over a longer period of time even though the current version allows this by only adding a minor setback (sway). -
Why are people crying OP everytime something gives you an advantage? You see: realism balances out realistic advantages with realistic disadvantages. If you have a folding buttstock that makes it possible to put a weapon into your backpack (in this case the weapon without buttstock should also fit) then you should not be able to access it very fast (as it is inside your backpack). Also the folding stock might be less stable than the fixed one increasing sway and random dispersion (which is realistic if not overdone).

Whats wrong with you guys? Cutting toe nails is hardly anything comparable to injecting random substances. And the idea is far from inhuman in a game where you shoot others on a regular basis and can feed them chemicals against their will. I would like to see some use for the syringe but more with the focus of injecting actually useful things. However there should be the side effects of being able to inject other things as well and catching infection if its not sterile. On a note: Injecting alcohol will probably kill you instead of making you drunk (the dose is much higher).

By the animation it seems like the survivor is actually searching for apples on the ground. This idea is nice, but there might be a performance issue with the number of apples (which would probably double the loot on the server).

Weapons do more damage if they have a longer barrel and I hope this will be represented in DayZ as well. According to wikipedia the velocity of .375 increases by ~20% when shot out of a rifle - making it pretty powerful. In fact comparable to the AK-101 (which is more than the M4 because of its short barrel). So a probably realistic damage order of the current rifles would be: Mosin Blaze SKS AKM AK-101 <R92 would be put in here> M4 Sporter 22 (The Shotgun is not a rifle.) Edit: Keep in mind that the .357 round is much heavier than the 5.56mm round making it less suited for longer distance shooting. -

Look at her inventory. An unbelievably massive amount of high value gear and a hackers magazine for the M4. So either she was a cheater or a lagger who killed and looted a cheater. My favorite is Mr.Pathetic who probably had thoughts similar to: "Oh crap, the guy I just shot at for no reason has me at gunpoint and wants me to lay down my stuff." Bonus points for doing this while there was clearly a fight in the background (a lagger killing and looting a cheater maybe).
