    A hotfix would be nice but the issue doesn't really require one. It isn't as bad as the random leg breaking bug for example (and even here the worst part is items getting ruined and players not being able to crawl through doors or downstairs).

    I would have liked a poll with two options but thats not possible. Allowing to vote for all four would defeat the purpose of the poll as most people would probably just vote for all four without thinking about the aspect they enjoy most. So I decided to make this about the primary preference only even though I am aware that there are a small number of players where two aspects are tied. For most one is dominant even if only by a small amount).

  4. Sure - but that takes a lot of time so it won't be done at once. Especially as the object on the picture it needs to be a "typical example" as design details and colors are not specified here (would be too much in my opinion - not 100% consistent right now).
  5. Because this means death is cheap and with almost no downsides attached to it. So instead of enduring the hardships that might cause a better experience overall (for you or for others) you can just choose the easy way and start over. A very bad thing in a game thats about survival and enduring hardships as it takes away any meaning of death. So why are you playing the game then? And why for hells sake are you trying to influence the way its played if you don't have interest at all?

    I agree - voices should attract zombies as well. I think the distance should be above footsteps and far below gunshot range. Edit: TS/Skype-Cheating will never get fixed. If they would add some restrictions there would always be players who will find a way around it so it just increases their advantage. So we should just deal with the fact that some survivors are psychic - maybe its how the zombie-virus changed them?

    I would like streetlights if they would require players to get them working and maintain them. As in: find generator repair generator find cable and streetlight repair streetlight attach generator to streetlight fuel generator enjoy light for a few hours (depending on fuel amount)Still voted no because I am absolutely against streetlights that just work by magic.
  9. Thats the core issue. Those 30 seconds are way to short. Increase this so people would rather: be handcuffed and abused while hoping to come free/get rescuedtry to somehow survive injury/sicknessstart over without any gear in the middle of nowhereplay nice if encountering a highly geared player as freshspawn or sneak past themthan to die and respawn. The fact that you can go "Oh - something bad happend to me - better kill myself and start over." without any downsides (30 seconds spawn time is hardyl a downside) really hurts the current gameplay. I am not saying you should have to wait for 24 hours but the "penalty" should be big enough to make the points above worthwhile enduring. Also it might make for a much more interesting experience than just spawning again with looting and gearing up.

  11. Nope - its included in point 2. I agree with the OP. Challenges should arrise from just surviving in an unforgiving environment (hunger, thirst, temperature etc.), fighting off dangerous zombies (not the weak but bugged kind) and dealing with other players (killers, bandits ambiguous strangers etc.). Overall there should be more viable uses for guns than shooting other survivors - faster animals are a step in the right direction. Now buff zombie health!

    The sway is not a bug but more of an incomplete feature - right now it seems like every gun got exactly the same amount. So your Magnum has the same sway than your Mosin with LRS - but the magnification makes it appear to be much stronger.

    Adding dynamism to gunfights

    You realize its about "realism where it creates depth" and not about "realism because realism" while most "anti-realism" arguments are used by people who are afraid of depth (mostly because they don't want to be forced to think or learn when playing a game) - which in turn would kill this game (because a sandbox game without a story lives from depth). So the first part was just my opinion and the second part was the reall argument - tradeoffs are making the game more interesting. So you have to decide whether to run at full speed or to shoot at your enemy. The point is that a gun aimed in the general direction of your enemy and firing (think of recoil) would restrict your movement. So no problem with firing while running but only with appropriate downsides like lower running speed and much less accuracy.

    Thats probably not the whole truth: I was on a server with two friends when it got reset so we rejoined. Me and one of those friends respawned roughly where we logged out (aka a place we visited shortly before the server reset) but the second one respawned at the coast with no gear.

    No. Its unrealistic and removes tradeoffs in gameplay reducing depth in the process. Yes and no - I don't like running while aiming but having different speed while walking/jogging with your gun out is agood thing. Again yes and no. Shaking should depend on the weight of your weapon while dexterity should depend on the weight and the length of your weapon. So while higher dexterity should also reduce sway a weapon with the same dexterity rating but a lower weight should shake less (thats one thing that could make the difference between bolt-action and automatic rifles). I don't like this as in real life it would often result in tripping. And tripping in a game is not really a good feature. However, without a proper tradeoff it would shift the gameplay far too much towards UT-style breaking authenticity. Maybe... if its realistically represented. You should run significantly slower while shooting and your acuracy should be very very bad. As in: you are lucky if you hit anything more than a few meters away. Note that this is about "jogging speed" as you shouldn't be able to fire while sprinting.

    Minimum Players to Start

    Sounds like a good idea at firts glance but it comes with some pretty nasty downsides (most of which are discussed above) it also would change server dynamics as the first 50-100% of the players would spawn at once as well as conflicting with item persistence (you got all your belongings on a sever that is just not popular enough to start). In the end it probably hits "innocent players" more than it hurts the ones it should like server hoppers. I propose an alternative: Hive Management So you basically have you hive where every server should have about the same rules. Now every server has a location so we can measure distances between servers. Now just make it impossible to join an empty server when there is a nearby (which means the distance between those two is below a certain threshold) low population server. Those servers stay inactive and there are only two ways of activating them: you can join and activate a server if its the last server you played on (in this hive) the last nearby low population server becomes populated or empty and some "transition time" passesEmpty servers will become inactive instantly if a nearby server becomes a low population server but a group of empty servers with no low population servers nearby will stay active until a player joins one of them (which causes the other servers to become inactive). This way we don't have too many low population servers but still avoid waiting times.

    Sprinting cool down

    I think a stamina system would solve this along with the issue that you can't run uphill. Though you should be able to jog for quite a while depending on the weight you are carrying. I think its reasonable that DayZ survivors while not professional athletes should be pretty fit. Also its more fun than having your character tire after minimal physical activity. An idea I had a while back (also seen when you click the small link in my inventory) is stamina regenerating slower when low. This way short sprints will not take you out of action but longer ones might require a lengthy recover period.
  20. Friends of mine carried two weapons without problems - aside from the intended slower movement for holding a weapon. Note that you will now move much slower when having the weapon pointed and really slow when aiming.

    I believe thats kind of confirmed. Also there is no infinite stamina - but the only thing affected right now is sway.

    However not being able to self blood bag in good for gameplay because it emphasizes player interaction. Whether you find someone friendly (I would totally give blood/saline to a stranger - in fact I would have today if there was a saline bag or some test kits around) or having a friend doing it is not important. Its a benefit of cooperation which is a good thing. I would even go a little further and remove self-splinting for the same reason (once the random leg breaking bug is fixed).

    Thats not right. The sway might make it harder but its visible to you and you can adjust to it. If you know where to aim and press the trigger at the right moment you can still hit your target. In fact sniping requires a lot of skill because of the sway. Random dispersion is the luck factor but it seems to be more of a factor for hand/shotguns than rifles. However, in my opinion sway should depend on weapon (weight) and attachments while random disperson should depend on weapon (type) and condition with the former being by far the bigger aspect (because of both realism and the skills vs. luck argument).

    For me it seems like all weapons got the same sway at least in rested and standing position. A SKS with PU Scope sweeps the same area as an Amphibia S. Can someone confirm this?
