Ending on the video doesn't make sense. The moment modding comes out that whole point is invalid even though it seems like it's the main point of the video. I mean, I'm not trying to defend anything or anyone here, but most of those "dayz is dead, the day dayz died, etc" videos are rather clickbaits than objective views of the game.

Most likely, there have already been iterations where we had wire traps and mines. But I highly doubt there will be any automated defense, like turrets. Maybe a dog collar and a post, so we can have a our favorite infected guarding the base. Pitfalls filled with zombies/spikes would be great but I doubt we will be able to dig any holes into the ground.

Let’s talk about the night-time, shall we?

The word realism is being thrown around too much here. In the end it's a game and before we are able to be fully connected with a machine allowing us to share the emotions, feelings and such you really can't talk about realism. The game is packed with unrealistic stuff and to be honest the game would suck ***** if it was trying to be exactly like real life. With that in mind keep your head while wishing for realism. -
Could you explain? It is basically the same experience without server hopping.

One thing I have noticed that streamers usually turn the gamma up when its dark or dusky, otherwise otherwise the viewers can't see anything. Also tempering with view distance helps you to see people behind bushes/trees. I'm sure there's even more similar things that I cant think of now. It's your decision if you want to break the immersion but I don't think these things can really be forced by the devs.

But them kills with CR527, total satisfaction. Edit: without scope ofc.

How would you feel if 1st person perspective was mandatory?

I like 1pp more but i think for youtubers and other endgamers 3pp is the better option as there is more to look at. Removing either one would probably hurt the playerbase too much. Each to their own. -
Everyone plays the game the way they want, so...
benedictus replied to NomadZ's topic in General Discussion
Nah its not that, some people actually like it when theres a chance to loose your precious loot and die, for me its a HUGE part of the game. Some people like to combat log to run from danger and then start pointless threads on the forums. Like the OP said, we all got different playstyles. -
Obviously the endgame is Youtube videos, no doubt about it.

Final Thoughts from an Early MOD player....
benedictus replied to xalienax's topic in General Discussion
You wanted less but are getting more.. I dont see why thats a bad thing, especially when the things they gonna put in are actually gonna add something to the gameplay. I would agree if they only added visual stuff or just items after items.. But if and when the mechanics are complete and working, Im pretty sure you will get yourself a compass so that you wouldnt even accidentally pee into the mods direction. -
Full auto weapons have nothing to do with Cernarus atmosphere, nor survival lifestyle

Yeah damn those server owners, always up to no good !! -
So chopping down a tree to fall on the road as a roadblock is pretty self explanatory. What I want to know is that are we ever going to see colliding tree trunks and is it even possible with the engine? Blocking doorways, roads or just creating cover for yourself. Also cutting down the tree wouldnt give insta logs, you would have to chop fallen tree to get the logs and make the trunk dissapear. Would also help with the abusive elements, like blocking people inside houses. Spike strip, found from police stations could be an option too.. but I cant see using it to anything else than stopping cars.

Gonna bump it, if somebody has some answers.

Looks good, especially the sitting one and the other 3 we already have them in the game. I think the stances between crouching and standing are the most important ones and are also the most weird looking ones (in arma 3). Dont know if they can be transformed to more civilian type of stances, whatever those may be.
-
Oh I stand corrected. Just for the sake of conversation what would the non military stances look like? I mean the ass dragging might be too much but the others look pretty natural to me. Like its been pointed out, there are plenty of plot holes in the game already from blood transfusions to fixing trucks. Not saying we need more.. just saying that this one isnt so special that anyone who seen anykind of action movies could replicate into certain extent.
-
What's there? Nothing that I was talking about. And yes there are pornstars with small dicks.
-
Where does it say that I or any of us are untrained civilians in the game? What if somebody roleplays a highly trained military personnel? But yeah, the stances need to be in game, doesnt really matter what they look like.

You store ammo and basic guns there, and your back in the fight asap. Allthough it might be that you need to store food there also later on.
-
Not much, after tents the penalty for death is even more insignificant. Maybe when theres something that actually requires time and effort to accomplish and is lost upon death, maybe then there will be reason to live.

Why nobody want to play in the night time?
benedictus replied to MrKartel's topic in General Discussion
You got a point but I still do believe that best time to travel would be at night in terms of stealth if we take the zombies out of the picture. -
Doesnt that go for you too? We both wasting space here with this chitchat. And I was just being sarcastic, right?

General ideas about how the game should be

Well you were right about the M4 even though you just dont know it yet. -
Umm.. what?

Why nobody want to play in the night time?
benedictus replied to MrKartel's topic in General Discussion
Actually night time would be the best time to travel without being seen. And if theres a clear sky with moon and stars without artificial lightning, you should be able to see were you going but still maintaining your stealth. -
General ideas about how the game should be
benedictus replied to MaxTheSurvivor's topic in Suggestions
I honestly think that the excessive amount of food, ammo, guns, backbags, etc, is there so people can test everything efficiently. If things are like this after release, Im pretty sure people are going to get bored quickly and stop playing. But I totally agree with the M4. Helicrashes are nice addition even though they dont make any sense, they make even less sense when they have US military loot on them.
