How so? Zombies are still in fashion or BR games aren't popular?
-
Zombies getting out of fashion. It needs to be a BR game to blow up now.

Is there any correlation between stamina and say hydration level for example? Because I haven't seen any noticeable effects. If not, there should be. Players should be rewarded for keeping all the meters (blood, water etc.) maxed out or close with more stamina or stamina regen. This would make carrying supplies with meaningful for everyone, even for the evil KoS bandits. You would also have to think about what kind of food you carry as they have different weights. Also when diseases and negative status effects come to play, they should also affect stamina / stamina regen, negatively, accordingly. For me the stamina system at the moment is a bit too rough and sucks out a lot of the fun from otherwise a great idea.

Ok since it keeps flying over your head, lets replace the concept of gold bars with a concept of a great game you valued high once you bought it. You say forgotten, do you mean that they might be coming back if/once the game is released because that's not what we are talking about neither it being a scam or no scam. You seem disappointed and it feels like you let your emotions do the talking rather than your rational thinking.
-
How so? Would it make any difference if it was just 1 gold bar? The concept stays the same, the value you put on the product is in your own hands. 1 million dollars was used to create clear contrast.

Talking about indicators any idea if the stamina bar is going to stay as the way it is? All the other indicators we have are quite vague in terms of information. Stamina bar gives a visually calculable information. It isn't necessarily a bad thing just thinking in the lines of the game in general. ot: I like telling my self that coffee is going to be in game. Boosting stamina 1% for 30mins or whatever and bringing you body heat up. Good times.

Your friends need to realize that there isn't supposed to be happening anything for the normal player. People who CHOOSE to play the game at the moment should understand that there isn't much to do other than testing the new iterations. We can analyze your friends logic a little bit. Someone tells you that he's going to give you 1 million dollar worth of gold for 20$ but the catch is that you have to wait for it for an undefined time period because they need to mine it and melt it into bars. Meanwhile you can go and check out the process but you can't have any of the bars yet. Then suddenly after a while you decide that you've lost your trust for the gold bar makers and you are not going to accept the gold bars when they are finished. Even if it's all there. I find it very hard to see any logic in that. If you can't have it now, you will never take it.

If the 'healthy' status returns. Stews / casseroles

I would assume when we get more survival mechanics and game to hunt the amount of canned food will drop. That way cooking becomes more essential and hopefully more fun. I like the idea of social eating. A positive bonfire, nice stew and a group of fellow survivors sharing it! -
Yes movement speed affects energy levels but not the otherway around. That would be great incentive for players to keep their energy levels etc. maxed out and avoid diseases.

Is this even a game at this point?
benedictus replied to Zing Freelancer's topic in General Discussion
You asked the right question in your first post. "Is this even a game at this point?" My answer is: No, not yet. -
That is true but the players and the threats they is big part of the game.

Well sorry to break it for you, the game isn't supposed to be "fun" yet. -
Without KoS the game would get boring quick. There has to be the sense of "danger" when you wonder into the cities or when your weapons go off. Sometimes I shoot first and ask questions later, and sometimes I do the opposite. If I get killed by a sniper or someone camping inside house, I don't blame him, I blame myself for letting my guard down. KoS is part of the game, personally I hope it stays that way. There's plenty of ways to play the game.

You've been a member of the forums from 2012 but you speak like someone who just bought the game. What did you expect from 0.63? A final release with all possible features and mechanics? Stamina for example was just implemented, you really thought that it would be perfect right off the bat and wouldn't need any balancing or player feedback? "Most important item you can desire is water bottle and a backpack to store water bottle. Forget about making your own backpack out of burlap sack, finding rope is nearly impossible! " This one already got answered so I'm not going to even mention that making ropes from clothes have been in the game forever but instead I am going to mention that this is supposed to be survival game where water and food should be the 2 most important items. -
That is probably true but you said you had steady 30-40 fps before, which is already low for that setup allthough it's and old CPU. If I were you I would try overclocking before buying new CPU.

I think it's time to upgrade your rig. I'm getting 80+ on forests and it's a cheap rig from couple years ago. In cities I usually get 50+.
-
Correct if I'm wrong but there isn't any non-accelerated servers, atleast for europe?

There is no way to enforce role-playing elements that it would make any sense. Role-playing elements are for..... role-playing!

Meeting up with friends SHOULD be more accessible in .63.

If you got "only" 2 hours to spare, DayZ might not be the game to waste those hours because this game is by design a time sink. That's the whole beauty of it, unlike everything else in the modern world, this game has few if none instant gratifications (like its been said many times already). To me the perfect example is WoW. Back in 04' to 06' we grinded the shit out of that game, nothing came easy and you always felt you really earned something when you got new gear or whatever. But since the game was and got even more popular everyone with "only 2 hours to spend per day" wanted basically everything that people who grinded 10h + had and the game changed for ever. I'm glad DayZ is a niche so we hopefully don't see that happening here. -

I like how the first thing he says "Oh it's so laggy" Kind of sums up the problem right there but maybe with Enfusion, maybe. -
Thinking about buying, but steam reviews

I would assume that happens alot when you server hop. Hoppers usually log in into high loot areas and pick empty or low player count servers. -
People are expecting to see the 2nd coming of Jesus once .63 hits the servers. Like always, people will be disappointed.
-
Just checking since we were talking about "HC" gameplay.
-
I assuming you are talking about ingame voice communication? Which is the way the game was intended.

I think the running animations were better before they changed it to the monkey walk. Whatever version it was, can't remember. But honestly I would be fine with the playermodels rollerskating around the Chenarus if we get the reduced speed and limping etc features are added. Which we are going to get, thank god.
