Yeah, I encountered this last week. I actually tried changing positions to block the wind but was unsuccessful.

People are so weird. I saw a guy today near some small town. I completely had the jump on him and could have been a douche but instead I shouldered my weapon and walked toward him. I announce myself by saying, "Hey man, how's it goin?" No response, I don't even think he saw me. Then I put my hands up to show I'm not threatening and again I say hello. He stops, sees me, and creeps over to a bush and hides behind it. Then I see him un-shoulder his weapon. That's when I booked. There could be far more civility in the game but people just act foolish.

I prefer M4 because it can be used for semi-long range as well as CQB/room clearing, which means you have no need for a pistol, ultimately freeing up space in your inventory. With a Mosin you can go long range but once you start going into buildings you need to save valuable space in your bag for a pistol, pistol magazines, pistol ammo...

Besides the gamma exploit, is there a way for people to see at night? I was just in a fire station in the middle of the night, in the NE by the new city. I couldn't see a single thing, only pitch black everywhere. I was more or less "feeling around" for loot. Next thing I know I'm being shot. 3 or 4 rounds go off and I'm unconscious. Have no idea where they are coming from because I see nothing but black. Then 2 more shots and I'm dead. Any explanation as to why he could see me but I couldn't see him?

Everytime I search for berries I come up empty-handed. Is anyone else finding them?

I'm running a GTX 770 OC. Night time is brutal. I thought I was going to just walk off a cliff at any given moment.

Good talk. I didn't say I want to use it to kill people. Just to see at night. Geez.

Thanks for the replies. That kill will confuse me for a while. I still don't see how it could be done just by listening. Once I heard the first shot I danced around moving left and right and he still killed me. I turned my gamma and brightness up to see if I could spot loot any better and I may as well have been blindfolded, thats how dark it was.

So far I've played almost entirely lone wolf. There was just one time I met some guys and rolled with them, just to goof around. Right now I'm having the most fun yet. I spawned near NEAF, looted, ran around and looted another airfield, acquiring some good gear. Now I'm in a desolate part of the map living off the land. Far away from people and zombies. I've been hunting during the day and cooking the meat over a camp fire at night. Sometimes the solitude can get boring. But so far I've lasted way longer this way than any other way. In the last several hours (real life hours) I haven't seen a single zombie or player. And my character has been kitted up, healthy, and energized the whole time.

Has anyone else gotten the walkie talkie to work? My battery is fully charged and I'm always trying to use it but nothing seems to happen. My radio is badly damaged though, so I don't know if that has anything to do with it.

Climb that very ladder. When you get off at the first landing, re-engage the ladder and when you see the down arrow use the scroll wheel on your mouse and it will give you 2 options "climb down ladder" and "climb up ladder". Choose "climb up ladder" and the arrow will now point up. I was on that same building in the new NE town on the experimental servers. Very high at the top.

Instead of ambushing him you probably could have just watched from a distance until he left. The easiest fire fights are the ones you don't have to engage in. With that mentality the airfields will always be KoS.

I must have hit one with an axe yesterday almost 15 times before she fell over and died. As I turned to walk away the next thing I hear is her growling, so I turn back around. Sure enough she's back on her feet coming after me.

With the ability to chop wood heading our way, wouldn't it be cool if you could use rope to tie some logs to your backpack so you could tether it to yourself while swimming to an island? I just found out last night that you can't swim with a backpack, which makes perfect sense. It would be nice though if there was a way around that.

I shot a Zombie with an M4 today and off in the distance, really really REALLY far away I saw a zombie start running toward me. I mean so far away I had to squint and lean forward while looking at my monitor just to make sure. I can't remember how far in meters/feet but I kind of laughed out loud because of how ridiculous it seemed.

A zombie was chasing me from a distance across a field. I raised my M4 and sighted him up with my ACOG. Just as I was about to pull the trigger he just fell over and died. Anyone ever see this?

Yeah it actually was. I can't remember how close though. I was leaving Green Mountain and heading SE to Kozlovka.

Yup, it actually was. My initial thought was that maybe he slid down the small hill and "fell" to his death.

That's exactly what happened to me. I quickly checked the player list and noticed that I was alone in the server. Strange stuff.
