Not true. I carry an M4 and have 300 rounds of 5.56 in my inventory, and I'm not even trying hard to find crashed choppers. -
A few days ago I decided to make my home in the far NW part of the map. I'm pretty much alone up there. I'm kitted up and want to hunt and cook food. But in 3 days of running through the wilderness I haven't seen a single animal. Are there certain locations where they tend to spawn more frequently?

Yeah, I agree with this ^ I think that original map posted by DayZTV is now outdated. -
I prefer M4 over AKM. For me the AKM has too much kick and is too loud. However, the big advantage of the AKM is that 7.62 is much easier to find than 5.56. With the M4 you'll constantly be looking for crashed helis for ammo.

When I have my headset plugged in I can hear just fine when I'm at the menu screen. I can hear birds chirping and UI sounds and whatnot. But when I connect to a server the sound disappears and I end up playing in silence.

I briefly read some comments on it but still don't fully understand. Everytime I log back in I have a new character. Is there something I can do on my end to prevent this or is this a known issue that's being worked out? Thanks.

I just spawned in, (fresh spawn) allowed myself to be killed by zombies. Respawned, made it to a rooftop and safely logged out. Logged back in and had another fresh spawn. Hopefully it gets fixed soon. -
Seriously? That's crazy. I've been playing experimental for a couple weeks and never found an M4 anywhere except heli sites. Not even on airfields.

When you consider the amount of police stations, military bases, air fields, and heli crash sites, it doesn't make sense to have military gear removed or limited to "rare". Because if there was no/rare military gear everyone would say, "When you consider the amount of police stations, military bases, air fields, and heli crash sites, how can there not be more military gear?!"

Yeah, I actually meant just another town. Regardless of size, it would still be nothing to attract masses of people.

It's because there is nothing of great interest in the new city. It was cool at first, but ultimately it's just another small town.

I know at least 20 people with AR-15's and similar rifles so I don't think there are too many military-type rifles in DayZ.

Does anyone get 60+fps on DayZ right now? My computer destroys this one and I don't get anywhere near 60fps. Only at the "wait for host screen"....

I saw a map on DayZTV with all of the heli crash site locations. There are 10 sites that surround the NWAF but none on the NWAF. Unless something has changed I dont know what this is.

This just happened to me, but with road flares. I have 6 right now and found them all within a minute of eachother.

Why ruin a good thing? They them fight it out at NEAF. Right now NWAF is DayZ's best kept secret. Shhhhh.
