What has dying there got to do with me not being able to leave when i have flashing health/food/water. It dosent make sense. i had broken legs and had to crawl for miles. took me three seperate sittings before i found food. I survived. It was slow as hell because i had to crawl, and im not sitting there until 4 am in the morning just to be completely revived so i can log off. 2nd, i dont avoid night time, its actually easier to play with zombies not seeing as well, same goes for players. i do alot of moving around at night, but if i want to camp and snipe, day time is prefered.

Only agree to the 3rd point. 1st one isnt going to happen because ive been there before in the middle of nowhere, trying to find food with blinking health. 2nd one, what happens when i get stuck on loading screens or am looking for a daylight server??

Yeah probably not children :P

I searched customizable skins and didnt find much. This will be something that will be along way off in terms of trying to implement, but what if we could choose color and style of clothes, shoe types, hats (caps, cowboy, helmets, etc) Something to distinguish individualism within the game. One time load out at the beginning of a new life, and saveable for future deaths. Not going as far as say Saints Row, but enough to have all 50/60 people in a server, all fairly different. Then clans could color match themselves to make it easier to distinguish where eachother are and not have to ask if its their team mate before shooting. If this were something the game had, then maybe we could use some of the empty selves in the supermarkets to hang other clothes off, so you could change to a certain extent whilst still in game. Much like wanting to find beans there, or say cargo pants, you just have to hope and see when you get there. Thoughts?

Wow really, i thought it would be as easy as changing the skin model or something, i would not have expected that. Now that you say that, id imagine it would be harder again to add children due to their smaller size, and then having to have a smaller hit area, such as an animal does, which id imagine would have to be scripted from scratch or based off the animal scripting and im guessing that wouldnt be worth it. Ahwell, food for thought for dayz's future

Want a pat on the back or something??

Yea and thousands of posts come through every week Mr perfect. Of you've used the search function you'd also know its kind of sucky unless you search an exact string

No actual point per say, just thinking of the realism aspect. Harder to shoot, because theyre, kids, energetic lil buggers, and the women just to balance the male dominance. I mean we can choose to be female on a fresh start so why not have female zombies at least :)

I love the look on your face lol

Look, we all have our own opinions (some more sane than others) and we all have our pet hates towards this mod in one way or another. All i really want people to think about is the time, effort, stress and sleepless nights the Dayz staff and moderators must go through. I try to follow the important announcements as best i can, and what im starting to notice is the tone of Rocket's posts changing from productive to something you would expect to see in a murder trial. He and his team have given us (imo) something that the gaming market was screaming for under its breath. Now that the initial concept is here, cant we be more supportive, and over all more acceptant to the fact that its still early days, and in no way is this mod fleshed out yet. I could go on forever but if you've read this far, please, find it in yourself to wait for the day when these guys finally say "were finished" before going into an uproar, because those words could come at anytime, especially if they get sick of hearing the community belittling their work which hasn't brought them any kind of compensation.

Unluckiest Thing That Happened To You?
Regiee replied to adriandmu@gmail.com's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Unluckiest thing for me would be being alive for 3 days, having a ghille suit, DMR and M1911 with just about every tool belt item except a GPS... then glitch falling from the top of a viewing tower ladder. I raged. Then I started again :P -
Today, my friend and I took out two guys in a control tower at the same time. We had Leinfields and had just left the tower. I was walking backwards when I noticed their shadows. We took aim and and fired on both on a count down from 3. Hands down one of the best gaming moments I've had. Yeah I've played the COD campaigns were you're team mate is AI but this was the real thing. Unplanned and uncut. Both players disconnected so they'll live to fight another day, and a hospital isn't to far far from the strip. Sorry if this bores anyone, I'm just still amped about the encounter. This mod constantly surprises (and crushes) me, gotta give it up to Rocket and his staff for making this possible.

Haha yea, your palms never seam to dry off with this game, I played a lot by myself and now my mate plays its changed the feel all over again. The word epic comes to mind but still doesn'tcut it

I picked up a tent the other day, when i had read from Rocket that they would be wiped in 1.7.1.5? I then came across another tent in a supermarket? Is this one of the changes that didnt come through in 1.7.1.5 and will be apart of 1.7.2? Havent deployed it yet and im scared about carrying it if they're going to remove them and it wipes my bag or something. Suggestions?
-
Wiped as in wiped off the servers. You can still find new ones' date=' but the old tents are gone from the landscape. [/quote'] Oh wow, awesome, thank you for clarifying, Cheers

Wiped as in cleared of loot?

Hi guys, Im getting the five minute penality but am definately not trying to cheat death. Heres a brief overview of last nights events: My friend and i were shot at by a sniper and both hit pretty badly, i was unconscious while my mate was able to bandage and hide in a bush. Luckily, the bandit sniper headed for my mate first and just before he got to him i got back to my feet and shot him in the back, while my mate emptied his pistol into him. Im miles away from the nearest hospital, but am more experienced player than my friend so i told him we'd head for a house and disconnect for the night. Upon connecting today i received the five minute penalty, which i thought was strange. Played for a few hours this morning, and due to my blood being 798 and travelling at night (so paranoid now), its very very slow going. I passed out multiple times along the way but was fine before disconnecting. Upon jumping in just now i have the five minute penalty again??? Is this to do with low blood and the game thinks im trying to cheat? I tried a different server but the same applied. Im going to put up as it only happens entering the server, its just annoying that i find time to play and then have to wait an additional 5 minutes, in front of my computer as id dare not leave it and come back to find myself eaten. Anybody else experiencing this or know why its happening? Cheers,
-
Im aware of the penalty thanks but i dont think you read my post in its entirety. I wasn't 'going' to die, i was just near death (flashing red blood without flashing white cross) both times i disconnected. I was trying to ascertain whether i was receiving it because i was in a physical state that made it mandatory to receive it, or if i was being classed wrongly because thats when most people disconnect to avoid death. anyways, the issue has subsided now and i have had two full runs without consequence, although still no where near the hospital. sigh Yeah thats what i was thinking, maybe i was being greouped with people who get badly hurt and disconnect. No i said i was more experienced than my friend. in no way am i an experienced player, its just that my friend is learning from me and has only be playing a couple of days. so i told him to wait until i made it back to him... assuming i do :P

Yeah its a bit of a downer running into a town, thinking youre going to be ok.... and find nothing

It disgusts me how in love with this mod i am, and before now i've never really experimented with modding. I really doubt my suggestions will be of any importance and am not expecting to see them in the game, but maybe aspects of them. I feel weird suggesting things for something thats evolving so quickly, especially when it gets better everytime, but here goes... 1. A BIC and some ciggies :) Be awesome to trek into town, casual as, puffin on a dart. Usage causes short term steadier aim while walking, and if abused, causes a subsequent amount of time coughing. Plus its bad ass. 2. Zombie sizes Have fatter zombies that cant keep up with you, everything in between right to the gym junkie that will chase you down like a meth head having his stash stolen. 3. Nicer Dusk and Dawn animations Firstly, like i said before, i love this mod up the butt and the eerie nature of those sequences is not at all bad, but maybe every second, or third day have a nice sunset and sunrise. You know, put some pep in yo step :D 4. Where are the women and children? Yeah, probably not children. 5. More vehicles I know what youre thinking, "STFU N0o8", but really i imagine a zombie holocast much like a chemical weapon attack... Kills all the people but leaves everything intact. I would like to think there would be more cars, not to say make them easier to drive (fixing them/collecting fuel), definately make that harder, just give us more to look at :P (Im aware server limitations) Dont take any of these seriously, theyre just my thoughts while running through the many hours im putting into this mod... Then i fall off a ladder. :dodgy:

Shut your mouth and go away. We dont want you using a server spot someone more appreciative would like. DayZ is a MOD (for the dummies = modification) for and add on pack, to an already established game. They arent saying its a solid working game and you havent paid Rocket or any of his staff for there efforts now have you? Us normal, rational people, can see how much work went into this, and just because you suck at it doesn't mean it needs changing. DayZ is going to pioneer a whole new style of thinking, and i personally had never even heard of Arma2 before i saw a dayz video and immediately purchased both. All up i think i paid $50 for one of the most engaging games i've ever played (i'm 27), and i have played games since C64. Quit your whining, please leave the community and let the rest of us enjoy whats yet to come.

I had a C64' date=' an Atari and a Sega Master System 2, Obsolete or not, i loved them all equally. I agree. Just like how you don't care about the people who cry about the unplayable features of the game (Their opinions' date=' I'm fine and addicted to this shit), we don't care about you not caring about them. And, uh, how did you pay $50 for a game that can either be $20 (Arma II Free) or $30 (Combined Ops)? [/quote'] Dont know, i bought them through steam, probably not exactly what i paid but im sure you understood what i meant Evidence of a game being too hard? Are you kidding me?
