  1. Got an update and logged right in very fast using the new ui. I switched servers once and connected very fast. No char wipe for me, played seamlessly for an hour. No zombies that I saw. Found 3 hunting knives. fun fun
  2. I can confirm that you can enter an IP and port in remote and this enables you to connect once back to the internet tab. I also had a two minute battle eye update the first time I tried connecting this way, just rinse and repeat the same process and you are up and running. I have been able to get cold and wet easy in the rain...
  3. I did not mean to come off as complaining, I only wanted to share what I have seen this morning. There is definitely more loot inland if you can make it there. The lag is surely server side as you can see your ping and you see other people time out when you cannot loot(or open doors or eat). Please don't take my post wrong, as others have, I have hundreds of hours on experimental and love this game. While these issues are very uncommon, it is to be expected in ALPHA. Off to game more.
  4. Servers are very slow to respond. Minimal to no loot, no food at all. When you do find loot, you cannot pick it up half the time. More loot inland, if you get far enough. Not super fun atm.
  5. If you don't want to wait for the servers, GO BACK TO STABLE. They only have experimental servers so as not to disrupt the stable servers when they need "specific" data. Whining on the boards only makes you look stupid for not understanding this. If I recall, this experimental version was put together to test something "specific" on the server. Looks like they broke it good, which is what they were trying to do. Alpha testing may not be for you if you lack patience.

My experience this morning is a polar opposite to yesterday morning. Loot is everywhere. No problem getting bandages, weapons or bags. I always play the same server, and loot seems pretty spread out. Maybe it takes a few days to get cycling proper and spread out.

I have been all over the map today. Not much gear anywhere, inland or otherwise. No shirts for bandages. No weapons. Apple trees are great to keep from starving. Maybe my next spawn will get an axe or a packpack, but I won't hold my breath. I seem to die after punching 4-5 zombies dead from lack of bandages. I could avoid them but there might be something in that house!

I have found that when fighting zombies melee, I only connect when hitting the zombie from behind or if I am moving towards them as I swing or if they are moving towards me. If I stand still and just duke it out, I do not connect ever. It's like the zombie is standing just an inch out of reach. There is some range difference between the firemans axe and the splitting axe. I am much more successful connecting with the splitting axe but it still requires forward movement and timing.

Never alt-tab, or even shift-tab for steam, and look at a map. Instant zombie spawn on top of you!!!

Many Zombies are going around the fences now, through some doors and up some stairs. Its not perfect but I have seen improvement.
  12. If none of them are attacking me or anyone else, I shoot none of them regardless of their condition. *I would never let a bandit have anything of mine without killing me first. Snipers and bandits are fair game.

I will try once more. I think there may be an unintended proc or something that is damaging equipment more than intended. This being alpha, that is a possibility. It is not a matter of skill to occasionally be hit by a zombie unless you never engage them. Simply discounting people observations by telling them to get better may make you feel uber, but that doesn't change our observations. Also, I don't play regular at all so I can't speak to that build.

You need to go fight some zombies, it has changed recently. All it seems to take is a single tap to ruin a lot. I understand an occasional "lucky" hit but every third zombie taking out a jacket in one shot is silly. If it was just badly damaged, I could at least sew it. I am not getting hit more than before, so something changed. I have decent aim, and of course I have adapted what and where I carry stuff but it's distracting from the gameplay. I like to Zombie hunt but not at the risk of all I scavenge. I still love a good fight and welcome strong zombies.

It has gotten so bad with the "ruined jacket and items from one hit" that I now shoot zombies with my shotgun rather than my fireaxe. Nothing sucks worse than finally getting that last pristine item you are looking for only to have a random hit from a zombie destroy hours of searching. I would accept this as my fault if there was ANY noise before the hit. Zombies used to make noise as they approached. Don't get me started on the map issue. EVERY time I open my map, a zombie hits me and destroys my jacket. Don't get me wrong, I love finding a new jacket, but sometimes it's plain rediculous for a zombie I oneshot in the head with an axe to manage in one hit to destroy 3 items and all the stuff inside them. ALSO, log out and in on the second floor of a random building, at least until they fix zombie pathing to include stairs.
