DayZ Commander is basically the best mod management tool for DayZ MOD. You can't do much without it. I'll ask a friend who left DayZ RP with a bunch of people to create something new, although I don't know if they are active on DayZ anymore. I will ask him and get back to you via PM.

Just download DayZ Commander, you'll be able to see which the most popular mods are. Epoch is played by loads of people and provides a simple and easy experience IMO, but with loads of things to do. Try it and find out for yourself. I'd recommend the Vanilla mod too as well as a mod called MustyZ, although I know not if it is on commander. :3 Well DayZ RP has gone to shit for a while now, so I recommend not even trying to get whitelisted. It's filled with 14 year old trolls who donated to get in, and old members are getting slowly kicked in favour of paying Frankie Fanboys or trolls.

First days impression from a game oldtimer
Zarniwoop replied to DeKamme's topic in New Player Discussion
A very good read. Had the same thoughts when I first started. Thinking. That's what I liked. No mindless grinds or silly "do this and that" things. Welcome ;) Remember though, not all of the game is fighting. Except fighting for survival that is. -
A look back..where our travels started.
Zarniwoop replied to Hetstaine's topic in General Discussion
I actually felt a tiny bit like a new player, playing Breaking Point for the same time today. By the time I knew I felt fear of my first zombie, the feeling was gone. :( -

Zarniwoop replied to Hetstaine's topic in General Discussion
Oh why, why you nostalgia trip me :( Everything was new and interesting, and that made it fun. After you know it all, it loses much of it's magic. -
I also like that they don't actually answer to legitimately good posts like KarmaTerror's and only choose to see the "Hurr Durr ALPHER TARD" ones.

Seems very much like something better I've seen before... Good effort I guess though. Check out Karwin Leutscher's videos of DayZ.

Removal of South Coast spawns can't be due to Balota
Zarniwoop replied to hannibaldaplaya's topic in General Discussion
NE Airfield has less spawns than Balota. Plus it's not just Balota. Count Kamenka and Zeleno in there too. That makes 3 big cities and another massive mil place in the south, all within easy reach of eachother. A tad too much. Anyway I don't think the current botched spawn rates will last long. You shouldn't be able to find anything you need by visiting just one place. I'm all for the East player spawns as long as there's lots of them, including some further inland, and it makes sence to head west for better stuff. -
Supported Shooting - How Should It Be Done?
Zarniwoop replied to Katana67's topic in General Discussion
It can be consciously be set up in the manner you said, using sticks etc etc, or deploying the bipod and then using the neat ACE system for it. That'd be great IMO. -
It's not what they say, it's how they go about doing so. (Rants/flame-wars/baseless accusations to induce the former)
-
Yup, way too much stuff EVERYWHERE. Not just the Mil Tents. Spawn rates need a massive reducing. Still it's awesome that loot spawns in more places than before.

Where best to find a hatchet and maybe food?
Zarniwoop replied to zombieland78's topic in New Player Discussion
Food is basically everywhere, just head to big cities and you'll see what I mean. It's quite rediculous if you ask me. As for melee weapons, look in barns and sheds. With a bit of luck you can find a decent one pretty quick. -
Indeed more zombies, and harder ones at that is a must IMO. But vehicles are an integral part of the game, although they will be done properly this time. Very few of them will exist making them a luxury item, that only large groups will find practical to use.

Supported Shooting - How Should It Be Done?
Zarniwoop replied to Katana67's topic in General Discussion
I like the way the ACE mod does it for ArmA2. Pressing Shift and Space next to a low wall props it up against it, giving you more stability and recoil but less maneuvering with a neat little icon. A very early video but the escence of the idea. Craftable bipods are also a very good idea. -
Naah, when it get really really hard, that's when the easygoers will move along to something more mellow.

Ah Miffy, how I have missed your flame-threads! Indeed it is not very often one see's that much sillyness put together in one post.

Impression of Standalone (from a DayZ Mod Veteran)
Zarniwoop replied to chrismgtis (DayZ)'s topic in New Player Discussion
Now that's just plain troll. Claims he knows about Game Development and says this. Good evening to you sir. -
A very nice timeline, with some nice details! ;) The game certainly needs some kind of backstory, that can be found through rare scraps of information or marks on the landscape as you say. This'll make the atmosphere so much more "real".

Impression of Standalone (from a DayZ Mod Veteran)
Zarniwoop replied to chrismgtis (DayZ)'s topic in New Player Discussion
Wait have you actually played the game? :O I couldn't help it really Cos I see lots of new and different things (and support for). Sure theres loads of issues etc etc with nearly everything, but you can't say "minor differences". Don't make me make a list, although I think I could find one for you. I've seen progess, so I don't really know where you've been looking for it. -
I'd like for it to be enforced (depending on time zone) on hardcore and optional on regular. Hardcore master-race :P

Went Back To The Mod Last Night - The Little Things
Zarniwoop replied to Katana67's topic in General Discussion
The thing I miss most from the MOD is probably the running speed. :/ I mean even with a weapon it's like you're gliding over the terrain. On the other hand I have to say I like the rogue-like feedback, it gives a much more consise view on the way your character feels, especially now with much more in-depth health system (which I love). Also the wilderness... 'Tis goon -
Yep that is slap bang in the middle of Berezino. Run, run, fast, away.
-
Well that's a whole lot of time. Especially on an incomplete game. It is only to be expected. I have taken a break for 2 weeks now with around 200 hours.
-
The engine does have limitations which I think will hinder this from coming into the game, soon at any rate. Look at all physical interactions between characters in ArmA games, janky to say the least. Project Zomboid does it very simply but there you don't need any more visual clues to know that you are grabbed. I'd love to see this in game, but I guess it'll be much later, if at all. ;)
