Don't know about you guys but I met 4 awesome dudes in Komarovo and got them aquainted to the game, walked through to Cherno appartments, where we where ambushed from the rooftops. I took a bullet but managed to bandage it in time. We lost a guy to a headshot from a Mosin. Damn it sounded good. We cried for our loss. We left, and meet up at the northern Cherno outskirts close to the other appartment blocks. I there passed out and had a very emotional last chat to my comrades, bidding them farewell. I told them to take my stuff and continue without me. A few minutes after they'd left I died. Loved every second of it.

Whilst I agree that streamers, youtube and copious discounts in a way, have brought the KoS mentality forward bringing a vast amount of players in with a missconseption about what the mod is, I think that there is more to it. I don't mean that people have gotten of DayZ per se. I mean they know that no other game can offer what DayZ does. I think many try to maximize their experience (having gotten over caring about their stuff) in their own way. They have gotten over caring about their stuff. That is after all why PvP orientated mods appeared. Therefore have not moved on to other games. Of course many have done so, me included for long periods, but I always find myself returning to DayZ and ArmA. Regards :P Nice avatar -

Well I have to say the stream was positively mindblowing. Highrise appartments look fantastic, and Cherno has many more enterables! It also looks gorgeous, bugs and all. Whilst whaching the stream, I had a sense of the potential of this game. It can go so far beyond the mod, expand concepts and features, make it a real apocalypse simulator. Seriously nothing with the scope of DayZ I don't think has been attempted before. It's going to be a unique game.- 2272 replies

Just searched what he actually meant by that. I thought it was the time a bullet took to reach a target. LOL Hopefully there will be no "bullet time" ever in DayZ. Sorry for missunderstanding anyway.

There is in ArmA2 so I guess they will keep it from that. I see no reason to make them anew for the SA.

I more happy for the way DayZ is headed with every update. Way beyond my initial expecations for it (see polished mod December 2012, something that I didn't really like in the first place).

I haven't played any DayZ in about a month and a half now and its totally kiling me. Moved out of home and started Uni, so I've been without internet at home which is fucking AAAARRRRRRGGGGGHHHH. Damn you ISP you idiot. Anyway. Usually I always have a bit of DayZ time every week, just because I can't keep away from it for very long. I started back in June 2012 and thought to myself: "Well this'll be fun. A bit of L4D style Zombie rape with a huge map. Lets try it." I have never been so wrong in my life. I try to play other games as well but I always returning to DayZ or ArmA ACE etc. In the longrun I spose ArmA2 in general is the game of which I've played the most and got bored of the least. Truth is that now I'll have less time for DayZ but the "It's happening!!!" vibe is electric and awesome. Cannot wait to get my hands on the SA. Looking at you mods :rolleyes:

I came back from the dead just to give beans to people and say that I have an unexpected hype-boner. Also "Remember, remember the 5th of November"! We burn Rocket dolls if there is no SA. *Ahem* On a more serious note: the progress seems waaaay good and cannot wait to get my paws on it. Wouldn't mind waiting longer though, if it means a more stable alpha.

I use the Default TS3 overlay and its just fine. Have had it for about 4-5 months now with no problems. I don't know about other ones though. Back last year there where reports of people getting banned for overlays but I don't think the problem exists any more. (might be wrong though, can someone confirm?) Regards

If (I wish) night time is as good as in ArmA3 in the SA, then there is no need for moonlight only or streetlights. Sure I don't like that I can't see a thing at night, but I still don't like the idea of streetlights and full moon only nights. I have been out hiking in after dark (bad idea) with no moon and I can say that I could not see 1-2 feet in front of me. I sometimes even lost track of where the horizon was at, cos of clouds. IMO if SA is gonna try to have better and playable night time, it should start with a more lit up sky at night, where you can see many stars that kind of show where the horizon is at. I like the night, it is a gentleman bandit's playground ;) -
