I guess translation of the game into different languages will have to be OK'ed by the Dev Team, and the appropriate changes made to the code to accomodate said change. I would love to see community translations of the game into lots of languages to make it broadly accessible. I volunteer for translation into Greek. Edit: Oh well darn I'd been looking forward to doing it Applejaxc... I don't like the idea of modding on the whole, in DayZ. It would be awesome if they released the language files only, so that translations can be an ongoing process, OK'ed by the Devs, as alpha progresses.

Some thoughts about melee combat

I thought there was blocking in the game already. Using space to bring up the weapon in front of one's face. Haven't tried it myself but I read someone having killed a bunch of dudes using the block while the others didn't know what it was. Anyway IMO a more complex melee system is not particularly necessary. If we've got a block and two kinds of attack (i.e standard and lunge) is fine for me. The weight of the weapons also considered. -
"The pooh-poohing alone is a court martial offense!" Lok! Don't make the mistake of ignoring a pooh pooh OP! But most of all don't pooh pooh the pooh pooh! Anyway enough sillyness for now. Would be cewl if you could see it from an oposite hill, like the prancing horse on some hill in England. Don't know what its called though.

If anything loot will be toned down, but will respawn (I think). So get used to it. Go to small towns. Best places for food and drink.

I hope one character is all we get. Makes the game more enjoyable. They should fix that issue with the steam name change.

Cherno has many markets. Now in DayZ all towns can be valuable loot locations, provided you know where to look. ;) Happy Holidays.

That is the whole problem. (in bold) I thought that was the whole point of removing the massive Balota military loot spawns. To make people head north, and make them more fearful of their gear, which they have been using to painstakingly survive and scavenge for a long time. The feeling you get of danger and fearfulness of losing everything is what makes this game so wonderful.That is what this game is about. Balota has way too many spawns atm, when the east of the map is emptier. Make them butthurt! Butthurt is good! Happy Holidays

Welcome ;) I still can't get rid of DayZ in my gaming weeks, even after nearly 2 years. Its incredible. Good luck out there! Not everyone will murder you, so be cautious. I have resolved to Hero the DayZ Alpha just to be that shining peculiarity :P I love seeing awesome new players getting drawn to DayZ. Welcome again

Large parts of the map are still not finished. When done, the north will be awesome. Hopefully an insentive for players to head up there. Also bigger servers are hopefully to come. Nice read ;)

No such feature is or will be in the game. Its much easier now that your character name is your Steam name though. DayZ will make you feel like no other game has ever made you feel. It can be quite emotional at times, losing good people in a group of random players. Welcome ;) -
It happens sometimes when respawn is pressed fast after death. Its a bug and will be fixed a some point.

Why to open preserves requires opener?

I think this is more of a gameplay choice at the moment, than a realistic one. I also hope in the future you would be able to open cans like this. With a timer of course, so that it takes longer that the usual (mabe an animation too? :rolleyes: ), and mabe has a chance of spilling some of the food. For your information we have a Russian section bellow. ;) Welcome -
Too much Walking Dead I think!? :P I thought you where going to add something to the sickness mechanic... Anyway I dont know how hard it would be to add dual wielding in this engine but it would be cool to be able to draw a secondary without putting the primary away, with reduced accuracy ofc.

In your perfect game, how big do you want servers to be?

This: with about 400 players! Mabe too much to ask? :P On map as is now about 60-80 tops I think. When map is finished and north fully developed about 120. -
In the pre-alpha stress testing a few weeks before release we had them on, on the testing server. I hope this is very few servers, IMO should be gone completely. Also a great big side order of WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY would anyone do that...

Charcoal Tabs? Seemed to do the trick when I had food poisoning. Not sure about your condition though. Isn't it wonderful that you can die to trivial stuff like that? :P I love it!

No. You are supposed to feel lonely! Radios will provide more depth though as said.

As said in the other thread, people wanting first to be only an option, must try first person enforced servers, for a while. Or play some ACE Domination sessions. You get used to it, and have more fun playing. read my other post for more ;)

Its basically one of 3 weapons atm so I guess it was done in favour of testing said guns enough, in alpha. ;)

Dissappearing bodies happens either when people log as soon as they die or when they press respawn quickly after dieing. ;) Nice vid
