I had thought about building forts too. Or a step up from a tent maybe a log cabin....just need 1000 piles of wood to build it or something. lol

LOL...."we have 5 SVD mags to trade"...translation, we need a SVD and someone who has one and willing to trade for our mags will die so we can haz mags and gun. :P

As an introvert who does not like confrontation as it is is. I would definitely say 4 fits me best.

If I knew how to gut a cow I am sure I could get more then 8 steaks off it. But if I needed to in real life I think I could get 8 steaks off a cow if needed. :D

lol well that may be frustrating. I know I have avoided even thinking of picking up tin cans for over a month (since I started playing). But gave it a shot yesterday cause I wanted to see if a zed would move from under the shed roof where we was firmly staying. And whattah ya know, it worked!!! I always try to have a empty tin can on me now. Gottah love sandbox games!!

This! Though my buddies were in Berinzino looking for morphine so I just had to wait outside of town after my crawl from near Solnichiny. Some people just have a greater will to survive. For those who don't, well that's what the respawn button is for. Yes some of us do have a lot of time on our hands and don't mind crawling for hours if needed to survive a survival game. I think it is fine as it is. For those who want to remove the broken leg or make it a death blow can just respawn ( or be more careful when using stairs and ladder or avoid the zeds better) ...those who have friends willing to help or a strong desire to save themselves can crawl onward.

Car parts are universal i think. Any fuel tank, wheel, engine can be used to fix any vehicle that needs it. To fix car/bus/etc you need a tool box and the parts that might be broken on the car/bus/etc. Tents tend to spawn in supermarkets most I have found. Since the latest update that wiped out a lot of tents, my community has been searching far and wide with very little success for more tents. Oh and default to sit is " ' " I think. I know I didn't rebind that key and that is what I use to sit by the fire. :)

I think one of the recent updates added a heart beat as a kinda "bandit skin". Which is kinda neat I think. The group I play with have been playing games together for years. But we have picked up a few new people to our community in this game. One of those new people was with us the other night. We all noticed a fairly loud heart beat when we looked at him. He said he had 12 murders cause being on his own forced him to be hostile. Now that he is giving us help...i.e. bandages, blood bags and whatnot...his humanity should go up and the heart beat sound should go down. My point...there is a way in game to tell if someone might be hostile or not. Just listen for that heart beat when you see a stranger. Also another way to "fix" KOS is to stay out of sight. :)

If zeds where all I had to worry about I would have put this game down already. The thought in the back of my mind that someone is watching me and might kill me keeps the edge I am looking for in this game. I play with up to a dozen friends on TS and we have a blast most nights. Our community could easily fill a 25 person server. But we are all of the same mindset that death from other players is a must to have fun. We have had a few...very few firefights with other small groups. So I don't need to imagine. I just need to log onto TS every night. What needs to be implemented to encourage you to join one of the 100's of groups that play this game together? A Clan/Community search button in game?

I have had this issue and like the others said, picking up the stuff under the bag allows you to take the pack. I assume this is not working as intended. But a minor issue that can easily be dealt with at the moment.

Maybe he/she felt there weren't enough threads here to read?

How do I play with friends? Well I just hop on the Team Speak of the gaming community I joined a half dozen years or so ago. Ask where everyone is and work on meeting up with some of them. We generally log out near each other, though some of the fellas like to play real late and I can't do that so finding them when I log back in can be an adventure.

You didn't have any morphine? You should have been searching a hospital not a castle. :-P Seriously, bandages and morphine are important gear!! If I run out of either then finding them is top priority. I also think 15 to 20 feet would be a bit much. That is a good chance of death irl. I can understand a fall from 4 feet breaking a leg, that happens irl all the time...now my buddy breaking bones cause one of us bumped him into a tree while running in the woods...that was a bit much...but funny and we all had plenty of supplies to fix him up.

A little background....I play Day Z with a bunch of people I have gamed with for years and some new folks. We are part of a gaming community. We have our own Team Speak and there can be over a dozen people in there any given night. So we have a nice tent city set up on a server which will remain nameless. We have found some vehicles, I wanted to take the bike for a spin to a nearby pond to fill water bottles. So I tell everyone my intentions and shove off. I get to the pond and fill the bottles. All of a sudden I hear loud gunfire so very very close to me. LOL I was by far the most scared I have been in the game. ( after just having a blast on the bike) My heart jumped out of my chest, every hair on my body stood straight up!!! and I ran like hell yelling in TS Oh my god, oh my god oh my god....lol The bike, the bike I was thinking, they are after mah bike!! Then I hear a lot of el oh eling over TS. It seems one of them fuckers was near the pond and decided to give me a good fright. Best moment of the game so far. We all got a good laugh and my heart rate finally came down about 20min later. The "shooter" jogged along as I rode the bike back to our camp. Sometimes it is not the game but the people you play with that make it fun!!!

No need to yell. I was just stating my take on it. I know it was caused by a disease. Sheesh...sorry for trying to have a little fun with it.

Does ArmA II not have anti-personnel mines and anti-vehicle mines? Just sayin...could be a fun way to fix it. :D

You will never know, you are not supposed to know. Think about it. When it started. ( I will assume the global infection was fairly fast) the people around who weren't infected that asked, "what is going on" and went to "study" the zombies were turned into zombies. So a sorta snowball rolling down a hill effect took place, anyone who might have gained knowledge of where and when were turned into zombies and the further it got from the start the information about where and when it started grew less and less. Until you are left with needing to know one thing. Zombies are bad mmmmkay....and to avoid them at ALL cost!! That is why you are a survivor. You where far enough away from the start to learn all you needed to know yet to far down the road to ever learn where it began. That's my take on it. :)

This!! This looks like a good thread for my first post. Since I came here to share similar sentiment. And this being my first post on theses forums, I might add hello everyone. Thanks to everyone who worked/works on this wonderful and amazing mod! In all my two decades plus of playing video games...I have never had one fool my brain into real major physiological reactions ( increased heart rate, jumping out of my skin feeling) to virtual interactions like this one. Not even close!!
