  1. So with the release of .59 I decided to plonk myself down and play for a solid four hours straight with the sole intent of finding one of the new vehicles and road tripping from Solnichy to the North East Airfield, I was also pleased to see that the update included "zombies reintroduced in large numbers" in the changelog. That is, until after my second hour of searching for a vehicle which included 0 zombie encounters (from Chernogorsk to Berezino) and 0 found vehicles. Now, I can understand that vehicles are more or less a luck of the draw and I might not have been lucky enough to find one of the 10 or so spawning vehicles across the entirety of Chernarus, and that's fine, I'll just look again next time, but zombies? I was looking forward to seeing zombies again, it's been months since I've seen a zombie in DayZ, and while I understand why their spawns were lowered I've been eagerly awaiting their return only to not find any when they supposedly have returned. After another 2 hours I ended up walking to North East and being shot instantly which is about what I expected, and disappointingly, I did not see a single zombie. Or any animals for that matter. Anyone else having this issue? Is this an issue? Is it really just me?

DayZ Stuck in a Trash Resolution

Okay groovy, it worked. Thanks dudes.

DayZ Stuck in a Trash Resolution

So I thought it might be a good idea to lower my setting to reduce lag, and instead of doing it all manually, I simply changed the settings from "custom" to "high." Little did I know this would change the resolution to a point where I cannot even get to the video options menu of the game to change it back, it seems that I am stuck in the bottom right corner of the game screen. I need some help, I've tried using GeForce experience to change the settings however it simply refuses to function with DayZ.
  4. Did they remove wildlife as well, I haven't been able to hunt since this last damn update, unless you count the people I've killed an eaten.

    Increased Loot Spawn Areas

A week ago, there was a glitch in a DayZ server I regularly play on, the loot spawning was broken in a military base, there were guns everywhere, supplies for weeks. But I'll start at the beginning of the story for theatric purposes. Feel free to skip to my closing statement though haha. My group of four were travelling through Elektro when we came across a well armed individual, we weren't exactly armed to the teeth branding only a pickaxe and a few other measly weapons. The guy didn't shoot us (surprisingly) but instead told us of a mystical promised land, where you couldn't see the floor because it was covered in guns and other high value loots like fire axes and hunting backpacks and magazines to supply a whole army. We were skeptical at first but we didn't have anything else to lose. We made the pilgrimage to this military base north of Balota, we arrived at the outskirts and saw a shed, inside, loots. Dozens of loot objects from lockpick kits to pitchforks. We then journeyed further to the military base and... It was beautiful... We stocked up, each of us now carrying an AKS with a few magazines each, I myself picked up a dry bag and four medkits from the hospital, I also donned a paramedics jacket dubbing myself the medic of Chernarus. But then a group of ten or so barged through the gates of the base, I was in the office building on the east side when I heard shots. One of my group was dead and the other two were pinned down. I carefully moved up and aimed my gun at one of them, I shot him in the back of the head then aimed my gun at the next one, from my cover, they didn't know where I was, I tried to negotiate, saying I won't shoot again if they let my friends leave. They argued that I already killed one of them, I argued that they did the same. In the end, my friends snuck out while the group was looking for me, I did the same. This was one of the most intense moments I've had in DayZ, cause of a loot glitch. So my suggestion is, randomized loot increases. Not on the scale I described but somewhat close. I believe these sorts of temporary adjustments to the loot system in isolated areas can create some of the best stories people can have in DayZ.

    Rehabilitated Hackers

Yeah, it's a touchy subject, most of us have suffered from hackers in DayZ or any other game for that matter. When hacks are made so readily available to just about anyone, it's a definite issue. However, hackers get a lot of hate, and rightly so, but the other day I saw a bunch of people on a forum saying things like "once a hacker always a hacker" and I really, really don't believe that. So I decided to start a forum for rehabilitated hackers, just to share their stories and to prove they do exist, because I know for a fact that they are out there. I myself am one of them, I tried to hack in DayZ because I was raging hardcore for a bunch of reasons (alpha problems amiright) and I got banned, I fought it a bit, but just decided to let it go. I had never hacked before, not in any other game, DayZ was the first to just push me over the edge. I haven't hacked in any game since, and recently I opened a new Steam account and re-purchased DayZ SA, I've been playing on that account for a few months now, I doubt I'd ever hack again (a thirty dollar re-buy is a tough deterrent). Now to let the haters hate. (And just in case you're gonna be one of those people that think I should be banned on my new account as well, I know consumer law and I know that Battleye can get in some deep shit if they ban me for hacking over a year ago on a different account considering their current terms and conditions)

Good combat system with the zombies.

I can deny it because I actually wasn't that scared, what did scare me was the zombies that if they hit you you got infected and would die eventually anyway in one of the old DayZ Mod addons.

Information of nearby players logging in/out

In a game that's all about realism, it's not realistic OR FUN to have someone pop in behind you and kill you instantly, especially if it's a server hopper at a police station.

Good combat system with the zombies.

State of Decay was a smaller game, single player, with a much less complex engine designed for zombies and zombies alone. Right now, DayZ is still basically in it's development infancy and suckling on the metaphorical teat of the ArmA engine, it will take a long long long long long time before anything resembling the combat in State of Decay is introduced, and quite frankly the combat in State of Decay got boring quite fast devolving into MASH BUTTON TO BREAK FREE.

    [Maintenance] All Servers Are Down?!

Forgive me if this was some sort of scheduled shut down, I haven't heard anything about it, but my friends and I (over here in the land of Australia) can't see any servers, besides the experimental servers. What's the down low dudes?
  11. kylefinlayson1997

    Cant log out in combat

True, that was a feature of the mod, however one day I got into combat with some zombies and couldn't log out when the server reset. My whole computer crashed and I had to restart it, and I lost all my progress in the game.

    Suicide Option?

Dude, just cause there's a solution, doesn't make it any less annoying. It takes ages to die of natural causes, when I buy a game it's so I can PLAY it, not leave it running hoping something will kill me so I don't have to crawl to a town only to find there's no way of procuring medical supplies anyway, and despite all that, the process of getting to the aforementioned town would take forever.
  13. kylefinlayson1997

    Suicide Option?

So now that random spawns are in, it's probably essential to have a suicide button. Today, I spawned in the middle of a forest, with a broken leg. I crawled for at least an hour or two, looking for a barn or a player or something to just kill me.

    Wrongly Accused, Global Ban

I, like many, use a shared PC. So when I logged onto DayZ today, and tried to connect to a server, I was denied access due to a Battleye Global Ban. At first, I thought it was just a bug, I tried again on a different server, and another, and another. None worked, all the same message, I had been banned. I had never used hacks, partly because I have no clue about hacks, why even bother hacking it defeats the purpose of the game. But I do use a shared PC, so the next logical solution I drew was that some c**t had decided to turn my PC into some sort of twelvie hacks orgy. Possibly my brother. So now, I have sent an appeal to Battleye, however I read in their automated reply "Please understand that we cannot lift your ban even if your account was hacked or used by someone else." So, thanks to a combination of ridiculous software and outside interference, I can no longer enjoy a game I spent $30 on, which is a lot of money. Not to mention, I believe the ban is going to affect ArmA 2 as well, so add another $30. Even if I got that money back, I'd still be pissed, because DayZ was my all time favourite multi player game and ranked number 4 on my top 10 list. I'm just wondering if anyone here has a solution, maybe even Steam Support could help, I don't know though. Any help would be appreciated.

    Digestive System?

Well, if there's going to have shit in the game regardless, I might as well make some suggestions. I too swear like a sailor whenever my character whines about being hungry after eating a full tin of pasta, or whines about thirst after drinking an entire bottle of water. If my character has to piss and shit, I want all that whining to occur much less often. If the game is aiming for realism, it's not realistic for a man to eat two tins of pasta then say "I'm hungry" just like it's not realistic for a man to drop 24% of beans onto the ground and still not eat them given the right location. It's the apocalypse, that 24% counts.
