    Never ever friendly again

Everybody has been at this point. But killing everyone on sight gets boring after some time. When alone I always try to talk to people I meet (bored already anyways). Surprised two medium geared players at a well (I only had a stick and an improvised knife, so I was no threat to them) and talked to them. One claimed he was a doctor so I hoped there would be some roleplaying. But the "doctor" pulled his Makarov and killed me when I tried to run for cover. He said "Doctors have to eat, too". Well, can't even trust doctors in this game. ;) I do meet friendly people, but not so many anymore. Once had the funniest encounter in the middle of Berezino. Awesome roleplaying which drew in more and more people and nobody died. Don't give up. There's hope. But it's small. ;)

    Where has the fun gone?

Thanks for your feedback, guys. I played the first iteration of 0.58 and found loads of guns. Just 1 meter from where I spawned was a longhorn lying around and Berezino was full with guns, too. I even put some guns in a barrel I put on a street, because I just couldn't carry them all. I only played about 15 minutes of the latest version of 0.58. Good news was that I didn't find a gun and food wasn't too common either. Still found some cans here and there. We'll see what they push to stable. I do play some complete other games now. Maybe this will bring back the hunger for DayZ. :)

    Where has the fun gone?

Absolutely agree.Hope that will bring back the fear that DayZ once held for me. If you don't need to be afraid of dying then it's no survival game. @Boneboys I am calm. :) I did a lot of testing since the start of the alpha, so I think the comment above is unfair and spammy. If my answer sounded rude, I apologize. English is a foreign language to me, so my vocabularies are limited. I will take a break and hope for the best. Just wanted to know if there are people out there who feel the same.

    Where has the fun gone?

You're a funny guy. I'm not a paid video game tester. Early access is mostly for getting funds to pay for the ongoing development. True, we help them test their servers, find and report bugs, give our opinion and suggestions to game design and more, but nobody who paticipates in an early access alpha MUST do those things. Nobody has to play and test it if it's not fun for him/her anymore. We already helped them by buying the alpha. The way you say it sounds like an early access doesn't need to be fun. lol That would be great advertising for the game, huh? Not talking about bugs. I had them all and never complained about them. It's the gameplay that gets boring, so I hope the developers find a cure for it in the future. We'll see what base building, harsher environment , dangerous infected, etc will bring. Man, I had been around when M4s were everywhere and all people did was deathmatching (boring, but did I quit?). Or when there was no food and the wells didn't work (Best times ever. Had to actually grow pumpkins to survive.) But I just don't get the feels anymore as I did.

    Where has the fun gone?

Lost its charm, too, unfortunately. Always play on full servers.@Stryker7x: Playing with a friend makes it a bit better, true. When alone I often prefer to play other games now.

    Respect the Game

Yup. As you found out now, you didn't get sick because of the bites. You got sick because you used the sewing kit to stop the bleeding. Most in DayZ is common sense, but it is fun to discover all this stuff step by step.

    A well timed trap.

Killed a guy in the police station of Berezino. Stripped off all his gear and put a mine beneath the stuff. Met another guy nearby who had almost nothing and befriended him. Told him that there was a dead geared player in the police station and escorted him there. Nice fireworks. :p
  8. Maybe the stun baton? Never tried it. Rubber bullets would be fun.

    Unconscious

No need for that epi-pen. It's meant to wake people up. It's not for people who are already awake.

    Character dies after patch?

But it has happened quite often to delete duped stuff. They usually give us a warning.

    NEW BOW!

I hope the recurve bow will get attachments one day. At least a sight.

    What time is it ?

Lol. That was exactly my reaction, only that I was alone and it was dark.@Stryker7x: I didn't play the mod, so I don't know about that. It's strange that I never heard it before, if it really was in the game that long.
  13. too-easy

    What time is it ?

Wow. Then I really must have been away from Cherno for a long time. I am sure I never heard that before and I played the SA since release. I am usually somewhere between Electro and Berezino or inland. Only spawned near Cherno on experimental, so I went there to have a look.

    What time is it ?

Would love to have a watch, too. By the way, is that a new feature that there is a bell ringing in Cherno that tells you the time? Haven't been to Cherno for a long time, but went there 2 days ago on experimental and the first time I heard the bell it kind of freaked me out.

    First Aid Kit!?

The boxes and kits are good to transfer 4 items from your inventory to your friends inventory quickly. It is faster to drag and drop one item than 4 items. In real life those containers are mostly used to keep certain items together for quick access. It wouldn't help if someone is dying and you have to search for bandages, etc. between your clothes. It's not really about decreasing the volume of items, in real life.

I have got to be the unluckiest player in DayZ

I do hope that's sarcasm. A sandbox game can't be played in a wrong way.

    No Pants Spawning.. Anywhere?

Yup. Everytime I go there, there are easily 20 hunter pants lying around. No other loot in the schools but pants.
  18. Most games don't have a public and playable alpha (this is only a thing that became popular lately), so we have no idea how long alphas usually are. But I would say that it is normal to take 3-4 years to develop a game if everything is done from scratch. Key bindings are just not that important at this point of development.

    Where are the zombies...?

You should have aggroed them. One infected sounds like 3 or 4 now. 10 aggro infected must sound great. ^^

Sprained Ankle - what are my options?

Did you log out and in again to make sure it's not just a status bug?
  21. too-easy

Sprained Ankle - what are my options?

Only a guess: It might go away after some time. Can you still run/sprint? Maybe in the future you can't run anymore with a sprained ankle and the chance of breaking the foot gets higher. Would be nice.

    DayZ Standalone Singleplayer

If the game gets challenging enough (without player interaction) I don't see a problem with SP. Hope it can be played offline then. This would be the only reason why I would play SP; if I can't access internet at that time.

    I killed myself... on purpose

I wouldn't kill myself just so others can't kill me. But I killed myself for similar reasons you did. Lived too long and wanted to start new but nobody was around. F11 wasn't in the game at that time so I jumped from a building. Had a funny thing happening in Berezino. A guy jumped from the hospital to kill himself, but he survived. Didn't even break a leg. He said: "Wow, I guess I am meant to live a while longer." We had a good laugh and played together for a while.

    I killed a man today...

I read that voice chat can be bugged in the latest version. Maybe he never heard what you said to him. Or he was a newbie. I don't know why he wouldn't go for cover if someone is aiming at him and from the sound of it you warned him quite a bit before you shot him. IF he heard you he shouldn't have just stood there. Why people do what they do is hard to tell. He might be a new player not knowing what he is doing. Or he might be in a squat and gather ammunition for his team. He might be a canibal gearing up for a feast. Endless possibilities. ;)
  25. I have been the moderator in the forums of one of the biggest game publishers for more than 5 years now (I still am) and from my experience it's mostly the people with problems that come and visit a forum. The people who don't have an issue usually just play the game. One could say that it's the 1pp players who feel unhappy with the current situation and therefore come to the forums in greater numbers. Most 3pp players just play the game. Like I said before there are hardly any 1pp servers in my area, and even those are never full when I am online. And again I say, the reason why some of us don't play 1pp is, that we get sick from it. I don't like throwing up on my keyboard. ^^
