In CQB accuracy wouldn't matter too much and I guess the maneuverability and rapid-fire ability of two pistols would be nice - however, it's common sense that it wouldn't be useful yet people will still do it. I don't see why not.

I've met nice people at NWAF as well. I shot a guy because I was jumpy and he spooked me but after I had him disarmed I fixed his broken leg and gave him some stuff and told him that he could leave with his life. Meanwhile I apologized for some reason. Probably because I knew that he was geared up and it sucks to die like that. I said that he could come back in five minutes to collect his guns (I made sure all of them were on the ground or else I'd finish the job I butchered) and I ran out of there. Zigzagged pretty much into the northern wilderness and I never saw him again. So I guess I was the nice guy there. So NWAF doesn't always have to end with death.

Dual pistols would be useless, but people are bound to see action movies and do it anyways. I say why not? If someone wants to shoot at me (and miss every shot) with two pistols, more power to them. It'll be easier to kill them. The "this isn't CoD" excuse is kind of nerve grating because I'd like to have the opportunity for maximum freedom. Just don't dual wield - let others do it and kill them when they can't connect a single shot and have to reload very slowly. Think of it as a conduit for Darwinism.

Confessions of a Server Jumper: How I learned to love scarcity
theevancat replied to gemellus's topic in General Discussion
Yeah, I used to serverhop as well and I found that I could gear up easily. But now I don't (partially the server spawn timer puts me off) and I've been playing for two weeks on my current life. I'm geared up, but I've found it more enjoyable and I've even had to compete for a lot of it. It is truly a lot more satisfactory and enjoyable. -
I've done some Arms 3 games with scripts to allow movement and locking of base items (wasteland comes to mind.) I think that'd be good for base building. Items, too, so you can stock shelves or something.

Or when exercising in the cold you get really hot inside your coat - it gets uncomfortable and sweaty and progresses until you have to cool down by taking it off even in cold weather.

What about knife sheaths? Stick them on your belt, your leg, your shoulder, your back. Same concept: quicker drawing of knives.

However, this could be used in cities to prevent spawning there. Maybe it shouldn't be able to be used in cities, but otherwise I agree.

Spray paint it black and scare people off with it.

Yeah, my PU scope had cracks in it (damaged) until I found a worn one. My LRS is badly damaged and it's got no wear and tear. My guess is that it hasn't been implemented yet.

Or, to simplify, typing in and it converts it to a font that looks handwritten and sprays that on the wall (multiple fonts randomly assigned to each spawn to simulate different lettering styles and handwriting like with randomly generated blood types? Or it can get neater as you go, like with Rocket's saying of "practicing will make you better at something.")

Ah, but isn't freedom a part of DayZ? I'm sure dickbutt would appear on every house if there were zombies IRL. It's even there without a catastrophe.

Or we could steal stop signs and toss them in our trucks. Post them on our turf.

However, doesn't morphine lower your heart rate? If you're bleeding out severely I've heard that morphine would actually kill you because it slows the heart and can't get the blood everywhere it needs to be. So if you're bleeding out and you administer morphine, there's a chance that you could die or get even worse. Different medicines interact differently with your condition.

Do not make it so bikes/cars make sense to use off-road/off-trail
theevancat replied to greasmonkey's topic in Suggestions
Yeah, long grass isn't terribly fun on a bike. I've ridden down hills shrouded in grass only to trip over a rock, do a sweet 180 flip upside down, and land that way to hurt myself. Mountain biking is dangerous. -
Yeh, that was what I said. It ends up based on personal preference. Item condition, too. Damaged mechanical wristwatches might be off entirely while digitals may just be cracked. Reliability or something.
-
I thought watches were coming? http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/170636-master-list-of-equipable-items-the-community-wants-in-the-game/ Although having a digital versus mechanical wristwatch would be cool if only for style and preference. Batteries really wouldn't matter - I have a digital one and it hasn't run out of batteries in almost two years.

I've carried around War and Peace before ditching it for the Russian language book: thought I'd read it and itdtbe useful as a way to bash people's heads in. With that size, it's a one got kill.

Oh dear lord my friend is crawling around in the Vybor dirt for nothing because I thought that splints needed rope.
-
That's what I meant, yeah. BTRs in the streets with dead civilians lined up on walls.
-
I had the exact opposite problem. Plenty of sticks but not one person owns any rope whatsoever.

Nice! I've never found anything other than the UK assault vest. Sometimes I wish for variety.

What stage of post apocalypse is dayz at
theevancat replied to ld-airgrafix's topic in General Discussion
I've heard that it's a few weeks after the outbreak - it's not overgrown, there's still fruit, and when they add animals they wouldn't have been hunted down by zombies and made extinct. On the subject of burned-out cars, Chernarus just got out of a grueling civil war and then a Russia/US war that eventually needed UN intervention. That is bound to cause a lot of the destruction seen, in addition to the poverty and environmental effects. -
I've run myself off of buildings multiple times on multiple fully geared characters.

Nobody thought of explosive breaching? It may be a waste of a good frag but I'm sure that it'd be possible to blast open a door by tossing a grenade at the base. If you're ever in that much of a pinch.
