hmm odd i get better performce on my macbook air 2010 which is just a dual 1.86 ghz 2 GB ram and a nvidia 320M make Sure AA and post processing are off and vsync. also make sure no programs are open that are stealing up cpu reasources. also try to note fps on a less populated server vs a more populated/full server. also as an nvidia user open the control panel and make sure pre rendered frames is 0 (Sure setting this higher Can give you a higher Max fps but at 0 your fps is more stable so ive noted ) EDIT: i play dayz on a laptop :P also note i get about 40-60 fps open field about 24-30 big town so you should be getting better fps then me also try lowering your interface and 3D res make sure there the same though ( ie. 800 x 600 for both)

Pvt Faryniak we met up hoped in a truck got me an aks then caused fun in Cherno died Met up again you had a uaz we found the guys with the truck you got killed i drove off came back around hit one and got shot by the other then the server went for a restart... We need to survive more together! it was fun!

i agree hatchet in secondary slot. or even make the knife a melee weapon then make it able to go into the second slot that would be great. sometimes in early game i pick up a loud rifle that i just wouldnt want to use on a zombie but would need against a player

So im a pretty new dayz player... after being a friendly survivor for awhile and really getting into the game i found myself in a new situation/sensation .. so i head to electro for food supplys ect. i head to the firestation but i notice a good amount of zombies at the big doors and around i stop and slowly move closer and i notice i see a player through the window. i get near the building seeing him fend off the last few zombies with nothing more then a hatchet. i rush into the building and point my akm at him he stops and talks to me "Friendly! Friendly!" normaly i lower my gun and smile and agree to being friendly and work with others...however... a diffrent feeling started to come over me and instead a wide grin comes across my face.. all i state is.."Friendly?..." and i light him up like a x mas tree with my akm. what an odd feeling i couldnt stop smiling. i took his hatchet , food, even had a grenade. happy i left electro and went on surviving. This game is a whole new experince i love it!

im not sure... i normaly befriend people but lately i guess i was just sick of how many times ive been backstabed for trying to be friendly a hatchet is a one shot kill i guess somewhere in my mind i didnt wannt take the chance. so i fired. lately in dayz the only people i trust are my good friends. so i hope not too hard of feelings. its not that im a bandit out to screw people over. i just didnt want to trust you. im sure if we became friends on steam or something youd be a great teamate. but after having serveal bad life runs then starting to have a good one.. couldnt take the chance

people all ways get out of control flameing when a mac is invloved... anyways op i got a macbook air 2010 with the nvidia 320m and the game runs JUST FINE in bootcamp with win7 64 bit (there is no native mac port of arma 2 sadly ) i have about 25-40 fps avg around 30 (i record game at about 20 stable ish ) so you should have No issues what so ever with the better specs :D Happy gaming! hope to see you out there surviving. though.. might kill you for your beans :beans: :P

Us35 has been having alot of server related issues.. nothing more then a bug and coiencdence im sure. new vers. are causeing all kinds of random crashes infact there was just an issue with battle eye and the new beta x.x though i think i was there for this attack or maybe the last one @.@ not sure. but anyhow i applode you stranger for killing my teammates really ^_^ no hard feelings. im sure it was just a bug. we even detroyed our old base at devils castle because of a similar situation.

Hey well if you Have to play in mac osx you Could try wine. however i Would not suddjest that At all what you need to do is get a copy of windows 7 and use bootcamp to dual boot windows you need to patition atlest 26 GB for windows. @strunge no need to uninstall six launcher just load it up let it verify and click a server to join hit join and when the loading boxes come up for arma II just hit the little x in the top right corner of six launcher. :D

really? i got an ssd and had stutters untill i started closing six launcher... maybe the problem is only for some people ?

i had this exact problem! and after some reaserch i also found it was six launcher causeing issues. however i have a soultion much much easier if you still want to use six launcher.. load it up set everything up and just as your joining a server and the loading boxes apear close six launcher (just hit the X ) works like a charm. :D now if i could just get arma 2 to work better on my computer >_> (get about 9-20 fps )

now im sorry if i upset anyone by replying to this ageing post but i just wanted to give info to any macbook air users who come across this post as i did woundering how it will play now i have a macbook air 2010 and arma 2 / dayz run pretty well (much better then i whould have thought) the important things is make sure AA is disabled and post processing is off as well (my macbook really hates post i donno why) i play standard settings (high textures though) view distance about half to lower and i mean i dont get amazeing fps but its well perfectly playable after some tweeking a big fps boost is to lower the 3D resolution (but at a graphical loss) so anyone looking to play this on there macbook air (2010 atlest) it will work happy hunting!! :3 edit: to the op. you have a newer macbook air then me as i can guess lol i hear those have a intel 3000 HD (?) video card? mine has the 320m nvidia but as far as bootcamp and windows the biggest issue i had was you gotta make sure you download the drivers for the macbook air do Not use the drivers on a mac osx disc when in windows (Atlest for me) i had to uninstall the video drivers and get the newest ones from nvidia (intel in your case) other then that make sure directx and all that good stuff is install also there is a arma 2 demo you should get before paying money just to make sure everything will work good ~ cheers and good luck ! maybe we can survive together sometime
