As a old player, this mod is now too easy it un-playable
Rogo Ignoscant replied to Cappy (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I'd wager money that if ammo didn't 'magically respawn' people would stop hanging out on the coast line and 'face stomping' zombies with their uber unlimited ammo military weaponry. They'd have to spend more time sneaking / going to military zones. -
Point 1: Its an Alpha. Point 2: It runs on a Arma II Beta. Point 3: Its a MOD (You did not purchase it. It is a free add on to a game you purchased.) Point 4: It is 'survival horror'. Not 'Mass PVP Simulation' Point 5: Crying about needing to be able to 'see at night for pvp' while bawling about 'not having a gun when you re-spawn' because you can't defend yourself is counter intuitive. Don't die. If you do die, get better. Point 6: The game provides you with Roadflares and Chem Lights. You don't like it because you get seen by other players with NVGs? Farm NVG's. Can't do it cause people with NVG's keep killing you? See point 5. Point 7: This is not COD, BF3 or any other simulation. This is a sandbox no mission survival simulation. Its not 'realistic'; there are no zombies in real life, when you are shot you don't hose out blood until you're bandaged, you can't fix broken bones with morphine, and you certainly can't run hundreds of kilometers without stopping for breath. Don't like it? See point 3. Point 8: If you are having technical problems, an elaborate post requesting help would be more effective than 'WAH WAH WAH OMG FIX UR PATCH WAH WAH YOUR MOD SUCKS WAH WAH OMG EVERYONES GOING TO QUIT PLAYING' Again, see point 3. Point 9: No-one cares about you. If you are having problems surviving, get better. If you're getting wrecked by hackers, bitching in 50 different threads isn't going to help. Being an alpha there are a lot of teething, and the game is going to change drastically. Sometimes for the better, sometimes for the worse. The faster you realize this the better it is because that is what an ALPHA test is for. Point 10: This isn't your mod, you just get to play it.

Crying about current issues?
Rogo Ignoscant replied to Rogo Ignoscant's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Because if this was truly the case, there would be a lot less posts on this forum. Ok? Whats your question? Zombies (undead creatures rising from the corpses of disease ridden humans thirsting for the flesh of their human companions) isn't a horror. My bad .. I guess I'm just wrong. Or, you'll just jump on the fanboy wagon with your tongue lolling about dancing naked in the moonlight saying 'OMG I TOLD UZ ALL AH WAH WAH BAWWWW' Aww .. I'm all warm and fuzzy now! Oh .. never mind. Indigestion. You're an idiot. If a high 'calibre' round hits an artery the damage is pretty huge. Depending on the round you're more likely to end up with a large hole, excessive internal damage, or extensive bleeding through lacerations. The game - however which you obviously failed to notice due to your retarded assumptions - allows you to piss blood out of places like your elbow. Clearly you are stupid. And your replying to a post about whining with a statement saying its a post about whiners like its a bad thing. Making you an idiot. Yes, I'll 'realise' that when I figure out what on earth your smoking. www.dictionary.com -

The Life Expectancy guessing thread
Rogo Ignoscant replied to BigEyeGuy's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I agree COMPLETELY. Why in the HELL are people living for 33 minutes? CRANK IT UP! Bring it down to 5 minutes ... make this game punish you for every mistake you have made. I don't need a friggen COD / BF3 shooter, I'm salivating for a real insane over the top survival horror where everything is out to get me, and then some. -
UnOfficial I Love 1.7.1 Patch Thread!
Rogo Ignoscant replied to WilkyWilks's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Win. Absolute win. SO much about this game made me want to play it - but the biggest draw to the game was the 'survival' aspect of it. After a while it became ignore zombies, just don't get shot. Not long after that - it was just chill out and make sure I have food and water. Seriously .... bring on hyper zombies. -
So how did the zombies happen?
Rogo Ignoscant replied to seraosha's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Isiah 26:19 But your dead will live; their bodies will rise. You who dwell in the dust, wake up and shout for joy. Your dew is like the dew of the morning; the earth will give birth to her dead. -

So how did the zombies happen?
Rogo Ignoscant replied to seraosha's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I don't remember much. Just waking up to the waves crashing on the shore behind me. I seem to have some stuff; flares and beans mostly. Both of them are soaked. The last thing I remember was being on my launch sailing around the world when my girlfriend tried to ... bite me? But not in that nice kinda fun way. This was more like she was trying to I dunno ... eat my face. Anyway I also remember falling off the boat with my makarov. Whiney cow .. But now that I'm here I guess I should figure out where the hell I am .. better. I need to find out how to get warm. "EXCUSE ME! Hey you .. yeah ... I need a place to stay and ... why are you looking at me like that. Hey are you ok ... back away man, BACK OFF OR I'LL SHOOT!' -
I get bored by all these "reality checks"
Rogo Ignoscant replied to The Toolman (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
The only thing missing in this thread is the obvious next steps. Every gun should be color coded, Makarov is white, main hand weapons that are easily acquirable can be blue, then we can make all the military loot a pretty purple colour. That'll make the OP feel much more at home. Then they can add socketed weapons, with upgrades like 'makes a bigger pew pew' and 'enlarges epeen'. After that, we can get the devs to redesign the game for the beta stages to be custom made to everyones perfect expectations. Or you can seriously just play the god damn game and appreciate how good it is without bitching about how realistic / unrealistic / real / unreal / stupid it is. There's plenty of games out there that are 'unrealistic' military sims COD, BF Series etc etc why don't you just leave this one to the people that appreciate the irony of trying to survive while every other player on the server is out to put his head on a stick during a zombie apocalypse. -
Does this game really promote cooperation?
Rogo Ignoscant replied to Torothin's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I beg to differ. This game FORCES you to be cooperative. A solo gunner on a mission is going to have a much harder time carrying the items he needs to survive. A 'lone wolf' type has to make the decision usually between a long ranged sniper rifle, a medium ranged assault rifle and a short ranged quick to act weapon. Lone Wolf has a much greater chance of loosing everything. Repairing vehicles is a great example of this, as a tire takes up 5 slots even putting together something like an ATV can be an incredible mission. Food, water and supplies force everyone to move constantly. Even if you stockpile your tents there are going to be people raiding them and you never know who's watching you. A lone wolf does not share this luxury. With the inability to have people at camp at any given time traveling across the map forces them to move into larger cities. More so with inadequate weaponry, and a lot more to loose. The 'use it loose it' mentality is what most 'noobs' have. Until it hits day 12 and you're carrying a silenced M4 with enough ammo to take out a small town; your living off the land and you've got yourself a nice vehicle. Water isn't a problem and you've got a camp set up for gear. Now that you've got everything you need what do you do? The answer is simple .. you go out on raids or murder sprees even ganking. Again all things you can do by yourself no doubt effectively. But with a much larger cooperative group your efficiency becomes drastically better. I can't think of ANY POINT in DayZ where not having a cooperative group is an advantage. .. and if you're like me, when things get really bad you can always shoot your friend. -
What's the point in trying?
Rogo Ignoscant replied to Fabis94's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Whats the point in trying? You're an individual - versus the environment, and those in it. Welcome to the shithead simulator, people are out to get you and there's nothing you can do to stop it. Got a problem with it? Don't get seen. According to your post, you had MAP and NVG. There is NO REASON you should have been in any area that put you in danger of snipers. If you're running full tilt across the air field wearing civies its your own fault. 'Best gear in the game.'? I beg to differ, the 1911 and a Winchester has easily acquirable ammo, isn't too hugely loud. Doesn't 'require' that you hit deer stands and other highly populated military areas to continue reloading your weapon. You just hit the reason why 'military' loot is so dangerous. You need to go into highly populated, player covered areas. If you're snooping around military loot sites chances are your carrying something they want. Play smart, or die stupid. -
THE Night is TOO DAMN DARK Thread. Others will be deleted etc.
Rogo Ignoscant replied to Slamz's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
From my experience hunting in rural areas miles away from other places in dense tree's similar to this - you would be lucky to see your hand in front of your face. Even on a star filled night. I think when the stars are out and the moon is up it should be a little brighter, but as it stands the darkness when its insanely cloudy could use a little lifting too. But in my opinion the darkness is just fine as it is. It lets us night players move in peace. -
20 words or less: Spawning without a weapon
Rogo Ignoscant replied to rocket's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Yes. Smaller packs should move faster (if possible), and make less noise (to zombies) giving a slight advantage to newbs who are scooting around towns and keeping 'more geared' players out of the towns (newbs get the advantage when they get a weapon) new pack / get weapon / reach DAY 2 loose bonus. (means us who head due north on spawn instead of dicking around electro also get an advantage) Spawn zombies in a radius around larger cities. Stops people sitting in the outskirts shooting like tards.
