What were you going to do if you died by KOS or some random bug? Jump off a cliff IRL? Slit your wrists? Inquiring minds want to know!! Geez people its not hard to gear up in this GAME. I repeat. It's just a game. If you can't enjoy this game (bugs aside), and that includes dying, then perhaps this isn't the game for you. I would hate to be so attached to my gear that I was too paranoid to play. Wipe or not your character is going to die unless you live in a bush. You live. You die. You respawn. You move on.

Even if you buy a prebuilt PC you need to know what you're actually buying. So that means doing some research on the hardware, read some reviews, watch some videos, etc. PC gaming is not something you just want to jump blindly into. You need to get the most bang for your buck and the only way to do that is to do some research. People can post specs and opinions all day long but if it's falling on deaf ears what good is it to you in helping make a good decision based off your needs and budget? It took me over a month or two of reading tons of reviews, complaints, specs, etc to know which hardware was for me. You've waited this long might as well wait a little longer and read up on the hardware and get some sort of understanding for what you're buying. Just trying to be honest because PC hardware depreciates and it's important you get the most bang for your buck and not waste money on a setup that might have crap you don't need or not exactly what you're looking for. Just my .02

Build it yourself. It's not hard. Take your time, read up and it's a fairly simple process with some common sense being applied along the way. You don't have to be some techno geek computer freak to build a PC man. You will save money, get the machine with exactly the hardware you're looking given your budget and you'll be able to pat yourself on the back when you're done. You also learn a good deal about what to look for when troubleshooting should a problem arise versus buying some prebuild machine only to have it turn up DOA at your door step.

Sigh. Nobody lied to you. Please show me the source where anyone with the team mentioned .49 was hitting STABLE build last week, last month or even this week.... You need to get over yourself with "being mad" and get a grip on how game development goes, or leave and come back when its in beta or actually released. Since you apparently don't partake in playing on the experimental servers let me tell you that it's certainly not ready to go to stable lol. The weather mechanic is bugged and often you will die within 5-10 mintues of spawning due to hypothermia even though you aren't cold, currently you can't die from starvation or dehydration so there is no reason to loot for food or drink, the zombies are standing still all across the map, etc etc. But hey, let's just push this out to stable so everyone can experience this right? SMH I suggest you learn to read the Status Reports as those are the best indicators so what is going on with DayZ development and when to expect updates on experimental and stable build. This was just released http://dayz.com/blog/status-report-week-of-08-sept-14 "Focus for the development team over the last week has primarily been on resolving server and client crashes discovered during internal testing of 0.49. Rather than address the crashes with a potential hotfix after the update (given the impact of the associated central hive reset and the steps taken to address the more prevalent duplication and abuse methods) the choice was made to unlock the update from our regularly scheduled maintenance window of Wednesday and rapidly iterate upon experimental. What does this mean for the average chernarusian survivor? We will be pushing rapid updates to experimental and iterating 0.49 until the build is in a state ready for stable branch. We believe this will only be a matter of a few days. When the build is ready for stable branch we will work with our game server partners to bring stable branch offline, and update steam." ^^Now that statement I can already see many of you reading into it thinking it reads as "stable will be updated within a few days". In reality what that is saying is stable won't be updated until .49 (in experimental) isn't suffering from the issues it has now and that they will be pushing rapid hotfixes to experimental and forgoing the internal testing to gather more data so that it can reach stable branch faster.

Seeing how .49 is acting on exp I don't know if they would push it to stable today. Might be another week until stable push I suppose. Zombies are just standing still now (which is kinda funny TBH) and the weather system seems very extreme on some servers where you die within 5-10 minutes no matter what. Food and drink also have no effect so there was no need to eat or drink at all after the exp update yesterday. OP, have you tried vaulting repeatedly or rolling? Sometimes that will do it. Too bad there is not a suicide option yet. If it were me I'd just stick my head out of the wall and yell at the top of my lungs until someone came to kill me but I admire you wanting to wait it out :D.

Well we were getting killed by the glitchers every time we'd spawn so that's why we were all fresh spawns :D. But yes the grenade spam and getting chased from Svetlo to Berezino again was chaos. We didn't know half of those kids that were with us but one of them was a mole for the glitcher/hacker clan that was ambushing us around the map. We couldn't figure out which one it was until we checked everyones pulse and noticed one kid had the same clan tag as 3-4 other people on the server and that's when we realized what was going on and we were being infiltrated lol.

Nah they are static vehicles AFAIK. Always the same spot for me.

Today was visit cursed sites day :). After leaving Green Mountain I decided to go find the Blair Witch Easter egg! Stumbled across this bad boy in between Sosnovka and Myshkino. Now my character looks like a duper since I found 4 drum mags there :D. First one I've seen since they added them. Found the Blair Witch site.... Also found in that hut was a walkie talkie. I have to admist I was a bit spooked to even pick it up lol.

It's a game so the numbers are not going to be IRL. Take eating and drinking for example. IRL you wouldn't die from going without food or drink in just one day in Russia but in DayZ you will. I'm sure it will be refined some but I wouldn't look for a complete overhaul.

So this is a long-winded video cut down from 3+ hours of playing today. I was trying to meet up with SepticFalcon at the NEAF but he and a few other young kids following him had bumped into some hackers and wall glitchers hanging out at the ATC. I wasn't there yet so I was watching this through the stream while near traveling near Krasnostov. I get shot before I can make it by some guy camping in the trees. We all spawn near Berezino and decide to meet up again at the docks. Little did we know one of these young kids tagging along was actually friends with the hacker clan that was camping the NEAF earlier. So we had a mole on our hands but we didn't know it yet and they had the advantage of knowing where we were at all times. Then all hell breaks loose and we start getting chased by endless grenade spam from Svelto the entire way to Berezino! I ran and slide down a steep hill getting pinned by a tree at the bottom near Black Lake but managed to get free lol. Unfortunately Shadowplay decided to crap on me during the grenade spam and didn't record with audio. In the end most of the hackers died near the docks as did everyone else ....except me lol....

It's a sad day. I returned from a long beach vacation and fire up DayZ this morning in hopes of my old stable character to find an epic battle on the Green Mountain Sanctuary server before the upcoming wipe. As always I have the worst of luck on that server.... So long old friend. RIP

Anything is possible. I just wished gun sounds worked for me like they used to. It seems I can never hear them anymore and all I hear are bullets whizz by. I died again later on to a group of guys blowing up a gas station. I thought it was just secondary explosions or maybe new spawn since I couldn't hear any gun fire but nope. Two guys mowed me down and I didn't hear a single shot except for bullets going by me.

I've thankfully not run into many hackers despite the large complaints of them in DayZ. Not sure if that's luck or the fact I tend to play mainly hardcore, maybe a little of both? I always play on high populated servers though because its no fun without the threat. :) Curious though I just ran back to the spot I died from in Novo. There is no way he ran behind me in time because there is a fence and a wall so he would of had to run two buildings down plus run up a hill to shoot me. So either he lagged in front of me or he shot me through the wall.

Oh don't take it so literal. I wasn't bashing on the game.

I suppose it could of been lag. My first thoughts was hacker as I don't think he had enough time run around that wall and go behind me. It's strange but I'm sure coincidence I died almost immediately after firing my rifle too. I was just informed on reddit but I also didn't know that you can still put bipod a on M4's which Is why I thought my old character was still a unicorn lol. Apparently you can switch out the hand guards after a bipod has been mounted on RIS hand guard. Either way this character was since long before crash sites and was hoping he would go out with a big battle or something. Not to the hands of lag or a possible hacker but that's life in DayZ ATM.
