    I was killed again last night. NE airfield. 3 hackers in the western jail. I looked through the rear wall, as I always do because of ALL of the wall glitchers, and saw then. They waved at me. I ran away towards the town and doubled back around. I setup near the hangar. Somehow one of the guys duped his own body. I was shot through the jail and hangar wall. 1 shot kill. When are we getting a BattleEye update, again?

    They should just add tasers. 1-shot unconcious with no loss of blood.
  3. Ok. I didn't read the whole post comprehensively. Duping hacked mags is fucking horrible. Ban them all.
  4. Ok. I agree with you to a certain extent. The problem is, I don't think they are ruining the experience for other players. Using hack tools/scripts that allow you to run faster or teleport or insta-kill all while being invincible ruin other players' game experience. Duping a few mags is bad but doesn't warrant a perma-ban for the whole clan in my opinion.

    I have an i5 2500k and a GTX 560 ti. I get much better performance now. It is possible that this is due to the Intel cpu optimizations they recently made.

    Still 40 players, yes. But there are many improvements planned for the near future. Dean Hall released a basic development roadmap that looks very good... I don't know if I am confident his dev team can deliver on everything but I certainly hope so!

    In the past 4 months this is what has been added: Much better performance!New guns.New clothing.Improved (but still buggy) zombie AI. Plus they are fast and glitch out while attacking a lot (e.g. they hit you even though you think you aren't even close to them.)Basic foraging (only berries from bushes supported ATM).Missing: Loot respawn.Hunting.Cooking.Vehicles.Craftable weapons.Item persistence.Base building/tents/etc.Ragdoll/physics.???

    Just my opinion: you aren't forced to do anything. You can play whichever mode you choose. Each mode has its own positives and negatives. Just view them as two different games and you will be much happier. In the future I would like to see other options added to Hardcore mode besides just 1PP-only. 1PP-only should be a server option, not a game mode.

    Agreed. Many players want everyone to be forced to play 1PP specifically because Hardcore servers are empty. But there is a reason people like 3PP mode and it isn't because they can "cheat".
  10. My idea is a combination of two (old) ideas that have the goal of increasing player social interaction and decreasing KoS. Helicopter crash sites should be (re-)added. The goal of this is to get players away from the coast but at the same time interacting with each other.These sites should have plumes of smoke that are visible for kilometers. The smoke should fade after (x) amount of time but the loot should never despawn.Their location should be random(-ish) and the loot that spawns there should be glorious.The zombies at these sites should be extremely hard to kill, only dying to headshots or melee.The amount of zombies spawned should be in relation to the amount of players on the server.A friend/party system should be added. The goal is to increase social interaction between strangers.You should be able to shake hands with another player and become "friends".Friendship should be persistent. Friends for life (or until you decide to betray them)!There should be some kind of negative response if you shoot a player you are friendly with (e.g. unable to shoot friendly players or you take damage if you shoot one of your friends due to mental anguish.)You should be able to remove a friend whenever you want.There should be some way of identifying friends (e.g. your crosshair turns into a tiny "x" if you are aiming at a friend.) This is necessary to tell if someone is about to betray you. I think the combination of these two ideas will lead to a dramatic reduction in KoS. A friend system isn't realistic but I feel it would lead to authentic game situations. Example scenario: You meet a couple fresh spawns on the coast. You guys shake hands and see a huge plume of smoke in the air travel to a crash site to get geared. When you get to the site there is a clan already looting the chopper. You and your friends take them out. As you are stripping their gear you realize that one of your "friends" betrayed you. You shoot the traitor and you leave with your remaining trustworthy friend to do other stuff.

    I think I remember that. It was in Epoch, right? Well, in any kind of party system there has to be an identification of friendly characters. In DayZ it should be as minimal as possible to prevent the breaking immersion. A tiny "x" when you your crosshair over a friendly character would be enough. It is also pretty unobtrusive. I would love to see random players forming partnerships eventually and the only way this will happen is if players are able to trust each other.

    I am aware that both have been suggested individually but I think their synergistic effect would be great for gameplay. It would increase social interaction and decrease KoS. Just curious, why would you hate to see a buddy system?

    Log Out Timer

    If you only shoot them unconscious I think they MIGHT be able to respawn without penalty. One time I was near Berezino and engaged two dudes. One looked like he in the process of logging out so I shot and killed him. The other took me a little longer to kill (~15 seconds.) While I was looting the first guy I killed he logged in right in front of me. I killed him again and as soon as he was dead (again) his first body disappeared. I had already stolen his weapon so I ended up with 2 fully decked out M4s. The 60-round mags were missing the same amount of bullets and his second body had all of the same gear but it was relatively undamaged so I am pretty sure it was the same guy.

    Ethnic Discriminations

    I've been called "nagger" on multiple occasions. But it is the same in CoD, BF4, CS:(x) and virtually every other FPS I have played. DayZ is one of the least racist games I have played but that is maybe only because there is virtually no social interaction in this game.

    This isn't the only way that FairFight works. It has multiple methods of cheat detection including ESP screenshots, hit accuracy/no-recoil detection (2 bullets hitting same spot) and positional sanity checks (e.g. teleporting, speedhacks, etc.). It is supposed to be used in conjunction with an anti-cheat engine like Punkbuster or BattleEye. I am high in the leaderboards for BF4 (which uses FairFight) and sometimes I go 30:1 in pub matches. I've never been banned from a false positive. It is all about HOW FairFight is implemented but everyone is ignoring this because WarZ. Nevermind.

    Why no killer tag

    We don't need some kind of kill log that constantly shows who killed whom. I'm spammed with too many messages as is. I am, however, in favor of a system that shows the deceased what his cause of death is. I have often died without knowing exactly what happened. I've even spawned to the "You are dead" screen on occasion. This isn't such a huge immersion breaker...

    There definitely needs to be a balance to the realism. It seems a lot of people just scream "realism" without thinking about how it impacts the gameplay and overall fun of a game. Not everything has to be based on this mystical "realism".

    Please stop using the "realism" argument. No one can run hundreds of kilometers, powered by beans, chopping zombies in the face. Everyone I know can walk and eat or turn around in a small room while holding a firearm. DayZ is not realistic. It is fake as hell.

    It's working pretty well for Battlefield 4. I'm pretty sure it is all about the implementation. Something like FairFight would at least get rid of the teleporters, speedhackers and aimbotters. It is only useful for identifying hacker AFTER they cheat so an anti-cheat engine like BattleEye/PB would still be necessary. AFAIK WarZ doesn't have an anti-cheat engine and only uses FairFight.

    This keeps happening to me, too. This morning two geared guys ported to me and chased me down with baseball bats. I tried to shoot them with a full 60 round clip. Two bullets came out and then my weapon suddenly won't fire anymore. The frequency of these has increased within the past week or so. Was a new tool released or something?

    I normally post on /r/dayz but they have a strict "no hacking talk" policy. I play on European servers and I've had a lot of problems recently on both low- and high-pop servers. I don't know if hacks are becoming more prevalent but I have been noticing a lot more people speedhacking and shooting me through walls when they shouldn't be able to (e.g. I am on Rify and the whole room I am in starts exploding with auto-Mosin fire...) It is starting to make my DayZ experience become frustrating when I gear up for 30 minutes, hop on a high-pop server and see people teleporting in around me. Something like FairFight and/or VAC would be great. Thanks! :)
