    Skinning Animals in .47

Every combat knife I find is almost broken. They should totally make weapon repair kits work on item attachments and melee weapons.

    Adding dynamism to gunfights

Am I reading this correctly? Rocket said the controls were too responsive before so they intentionally added delays?... /sigh I never thought the day would come where I would wish DayZ had controls like Arma 3. At the very least they could fix the problems with the hotbar and vaulting.

Strafing is pretty bad. Peeking is impossible in this game. Sidestepping should definitely be possible. I took the uphill running to mean the current uphill movement is pretty bad. I should always be able to jog up a hill. I should never be forced to a crawl unless the include is so steep that I am actually forced to crawl...

You don't need to exaggerate, Mr. "90 hours played". There were many valid points raised and I don't believe a single person in this thread mentioning sprinting up inclines or strafing at 20mpg. If you aren't going to contribute to the conversation at least refrain from injecting talking points into the thread that no one mentioned.

    Adding dynamism to gunfights

DayZ is its own biggest problem. I don't want "arcade-y" movement but my controls should work. I should feel like I am always in control of my character and not playing QWOP. The recent changes to movement and the hotbar just extrapolated the issue. I know people are saying "alpher" but, to be quite honest, there has been no improvement to movement/player actions in the last 8 months besides the (awesome) 1:1 mouse controls. If people ever want Hardcore servers to gain popularity these controls need to be improved. They fucking suck.

[Be nice] How do you torture people in days?

I don't think you understand me. Video games do not create violent people, rather video games can simply be an outlet for people that have pre-existing anti-social tendencies. That is a fact. :)

You can have fun in DayZ however you want and you are hurting no one. Torturing other players simply for the pleasure of torture is anomalous human behavior and anything beyond a mild fascination with torture definitely hints at a possible deeper, psychological disorder (ala anti-social personality disorder). If you are having social issues in real life you might want to think about that.

What's the current hacking status like in DayZ:SA?

You've only played this game for 90 hours? From your forum posts you would think that you are a hardcore DayZ fan. I guess you just have a lot of opinions... :) I've put in almost 500 hours in SA and a bunch of hours in Mod. They exist, they are plentiful and they often flaunt their hacking. Posts like yours are pretty pointless since 1) you are inexperienced in the game and 2) hacking isn't always blatant.

[Be nice] How do you torture people in days?

He's kinda' correct. There is a reason that torture was super popular when the game was first released and now it is a rare occurrence. People were fascinated by it since "torture" as a social mechanic in a multiplayer environment doesn't really exist outside of normal MMO griefing. Torturing people without the possibility of some kind of reward is extremely anomalous human behavior. The vast majority of people don't actually derive pleasure from causing others pain or discomfort. Even most murders happen for a reason, not just murder for the sake of murder. For a person to torture others over and over again in DayZ does hint that they might have a deeper psychological problem, perhaps caused by a feeling of helplessness or loss of control at some point in their life. But, ya. Keep thinking this behavior is normal, buddy. :)

I wish we could lead around hostages and use them as zombie bait. Also, hang players by their arms/legs from a tree, shoot them, zombie bait.

Isn't it Lit? I just looked for a non-GEMA version of the song. Living in Germany sucks sometimes.

Because you were expecting something smart and not easy? I work as a programmer. Sometimes you have to weigh the benefits of an easy solution vs. the time investment required for a complete solution. I just don't feel that fall damage is a crucial part of gameplay at this point in time. I wouldn't mind it if was turned off or extremely decreased.

    My worst enemy...

He said he has never had problems with stairs or ladders. I have broken my legs when my bandwidth was bad. If he has a good internet connection perhaps that is how he has avoided getting hurt. The problems are pretty obviously caused by bugs.

    So...after 8 months...

It was off for a while and I don't feel like my gameplay was affected. I never though, "Damn. If fall damage was on that dude wouldn't have been able to kill me." I have thought, "If fall damage was off I probably wouldn't have broken my legs when simply logging into the game." They obviously don't have time to focus on it. I wouldn't mind if it was off.

Just turn it off until the have time to work out the glitches? The only people it would affect are suiciders.

@Op: You are your own worst enemy. A good internet connection? I noticed when my girlfriend is downloading shit and playing Youtube videos I am much more likely to encounter glitches.

Manipulating fall damage can be done quite easily. They should definitely decrease it until the glitches are fixed. Until we have flying vehicles fall damage doesn't affect gameplay all that much, in my opinion.

How big is the DayZ SA team? (+ Development)

They like to throw out that 70+ but I heard up to 50 of them are QA. I would like to know more specifics if anyone has any information. Not that it matters, though.
  20. Well, the guy was asking if harder zombies could be implemented so KoS would decrease. Hicks, basically, said no. To me this means zombies will never be hard enough to increase social interaction. They will just be strong enough to drive players to interact (aka KoS) with each other. Again, I could be wrong but it is impossible to tell because of the shitty Twitter character limit. The fact that the dev team does most of their communication via Twitter is a poor decision and has caused many misunderstandings in the past.
  21. 8 months ago DayZ had a stamina system but they had to remove it due to bugs. I guess they are definitely adding a stamina/disease system at some point. But its just a guess since we haven't actually got any information on it.
  22. For a while now I have been reading how people think that a harder environment (aka Zombies, disease) will improve gameplay and social interaction. After all, if the environment is dangerous people will be forced to band together and looting will actually require skill. Now we have verification from the dev team that this will never happen. I am assuming (and I could definitely be wrong) this is based on the fact that DayZ can't handle hordes without crippling server FPS. It seems that DayZ will never strive to be more than a clan vs clan deathmatch with zombie furniture. Is it possible that people will start supporting methods for randoms to socialize and group up? I really want party and faction identification of some kind. Player recognition (aka way more face models, tattoos, unique/unchangeable player names, shake hands = see unique player name, etc.) would be cool as well. Even a feature like FF:off in Recruit mode would be appreciated. Social interaction in DayZ is lacking by design. With too much friendly interaction the game would be boring. But some small tools to help randoms form groups would be great.

EXP - Map now shows the players exact position

I didn't play mod that much so when SA came out I really had to actually learn the map. I did this using online map services like DayZDB and iZurvive. All this change does is make alt/shift-tabbing unnecessary. Anyway, this should be the start of a true Hardcore mode. Hardcore mode should be realistic and unforgiving. You should expect to find skilled players in Hardcore mode because it requires skill. Regular mode should be fun and accessible for new players.

EXP - Map now shows the players exact position

Chernarus is small. I can navigate the whole map without going to a website nor using an in-game map and compass. To me, this is a non-issue. Anything that will help my friends get into the game faster is appreciated by me. This just further illustrates the need for multiple game modes for beginners vs veterans. There is no way to balance a single game mode for every experience level.
  25. This isn't fixed. It still occurs on Experimental. I think they just deactivated all reload sounds. I haven't heard my gun reload in a while... maybe it is just my PC, though.
