having the ability to 'parkour vault' over fences etc. would be a great + since it would greatly enhance movement speed... that comes in handy when 20 infected try to claw at you. in the final build
-
so... what I've learned so far player aging (NOT in 0.60 player console not done yet) no predator animals in 0.60 item decay (maybe in 0.60) items spawn with items (pants with can of coke/beans/fish hook) dynamic fog (decreases your FPS, changes to your location) simul weather (unsure.. partially?) zombies have different models/clothes NEW *again* UI (parimeter/inventory) all in all.. half the 'hyped' stuff is NOT in the upcoming 0.60 build... maybe 0.70 if we're lucky

10 more min *grabs popcorn* lets see what the great devs have to offer us in 6-8 weeks xD

A Few Thoughts On.. (Communication, Deadlines, etc)
Tigermonk replied to Hicks_206 (DayZ)'s topic in News & Announcements
Finally catching on huh? I've been saying that since november last year! all they do is 'talk' and 'hype' all 'show' but no 'go' and I've been flagged for 'destructive/negative' remarks every single time... so this just goes to show.. that I was right all along.. their probably going to hype the Sh!t out of this pax thing.. then when that's done.. MAAAAYBE release the 0.60 in may... cause you just can't tell people 'over and over and over again' 'we're patching this leak/bump/optimizing this and this and this' while stalling the shit out of your release. I seriously see DayZ going down each and every month being more and more build on 'broken promises' my guess? 0.65 will bring modding.. after that they'll label it 'beta/done' and let the community mod the shit out of this thing and slowly make their retreat to some private island bought with their millions earned in Early access -
now now... don't throw your chips down just yet... LOL XD maybe all the impatient KoS kids have stopped playing since it takes to loooong for updates to come out.. and they really really really! need that M4 back + that heavy M249

^ and this is why we can't have good things in 'call of' dayz people.. exactly this.. ontopic: how do I greet people? mostly I don't I tend to stay away from people (because of the rags! comment) If I meet up with people.. I tend to be civilized... just like people are in the real world.. when they meet someone.. (apart from the handshake) everything is kinda identical.. 'hello/goodmorning/afternoon/night sir/miss, how are you doing?' 'hello/goodmorning/afternoon/night sir/miss, how is surviving coming along for you?'

lol i'm sorry dude... but spewing that shit with only 1 post under your belt... makes you a full blown retard... dayz isn't just played by Children who have nothing to do with their lives, except for gaming & reddit / forums. alone... it's also played by adults with big enough stuff to do outside playing dayz.. but the speed of the dev. overall has been pathetic.. all talk no walk for the last 2 months minimum... so please stick that comment of your.. somewhere the sun doesn't shine and refrain from dumb comment that label every user on this forum with the minimal facts and a healthy personal opinion. delay causes frustration frustration causes questions questions demand answers answers (if not given) result in 'negative' remarks/statements because YES that's what humans do if things don't work/add up in the long run. -
probably 'show' closed exp. like the past 3 months have been.
-
*hopes for 0.60 the week after pax* so hicks any other news then 'latest installment of 0.60' because we've already seen 3 trailers of the rendering engine... and comparisons. any ETA on the go ahead to exp.?
-
hostage situations: 'Not every DayZ interaction has to end with death. If you have a mic and a compliant attitude you *just might* survive a shitty situation or two.' *steals all your food/water/bullets/useful supplies* *ties you up* give us an hour to get away... then wiggle out of this by pressing q and i (logs out) dude.. you might as well have shot me because we're in the MIDDLE of bumfuck nowhere dying of dehydration/starvation within 10 min.. thnx for fucking nothing snickers... <- hostage situation outcomes 90% of the time

^ like Jburns said... the idea is good.. but we need WAAAY more triees/thicker forests/trees grouped together.. plus the fact that they need to make mechanics to make it 'float' or at least seem like its off the ground/anchored to the tree further more.. there are NEVER enough zeds/preditor animals in the woods at one time.. to make this a real threat that creates a need for tree houses/raised shelters to be in the game. but.... +1 for the idea man.. cool aspect.

Two [re-mod] servers up - ONE PVP AND ONE PVE - Which do you like better?
Tigermonk replied to Bricktopserver's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
PvE since PVP is something I'd play COD for or any other randomly named FPS/MMORPG game. -

this al depends on the type of server you're playing on.. 50 pop. KoS servers.. yes that average is 15-16 min... but if you're playing on a RP server whitelist community style... the average goes up really quickly.. matter of days to start off.. (4-5) and most players (me being one of them) survive for a month or more.. since RP isnt about pulling triggers.. its about making stories.. -
Urgent, need help with being kicked from servers.
Tigermonk replied to Los Shorts's topic in Troubleshooting
have you tried running the game as admin <- looking at his screen and the windows shields.. I think he's admin user by default? have you tried turning your firewall off <- bad idea... have you tried configuring your firewall <- better idea! ;) have you looked at your router firewall as well as your software firewall <- could be a possible cause (router wise) have you checked your anti virus software. <- Depends on what AVS he's using, since most AVS don't dick around as much, once you allow Battle-eye/dayz.exe on your machine. (assuming he did) -

there's this game called left4dead... try that.. cause thats what you do ALL game long... dayz is about stories... not about a/b b/a a/b b/a gameplay... just sayin.. if thats how you wanna play.. wait for hordes to hit the game in 5-10 patches... and enjoy running around, running for ya life.. while looking out for people who actually play and scope you with their SKS or SVD. ready to bust a cap on your ass the second you 'stop' to collect stuff. LOL and 'no point' in base building.. please explain because 'I hate games where all you do is collect a bunch of stuff so you can build your little home.' is full on BS as a statement if you ask me... lets break that down shall we? - start the game - survive - get healthy - gear up - play alone or team up with players? <- this is a constant, real life based point of view in dayz SA - establish a formation - find a point to setup a base of operation - gather the materials - build up your base - stock your base - decide who does what (guard the supplies/trader/medic/perimeter security/scavenger) - setup your approach (plan of action/decide what your base/HQ is) trading post/medical center/military border etc. - maintain security - SURVIVE/thrive! ^ congratulations you're playing DayZ SA.. with base building/an actual back story/P.O.A. (Plan Of Approach) this however does not mean (like i've said in my previous comment!) 'sit around a campfire and tell 'nam stories' I mean active bases that have sufficient players to create activity.. and thrilling encounters.. having a fully operational base.. puts a target on your back. but still it also creates good stories/RP since you're actively trying to keep the base save/defend it/maintain order so just saying.. everyone has their own style of playing.. but that comment you just displayed is full on non sense. regards, tigermonk -
^ with that post you just did go into this discussion.. but alright ;) you'll get a free pass this time brah. haha xD you got my point.. and THAT was the point...

then whats the point of playing dayz in da first place man? no persistance sucks.. since you can't build anything and for me personally dayz is surviving... and re-build society and thus your 'home' once you're healthy enough to do so.. and try to survive in a hostile environment -

well, the complete reset is a bit drastic.. but like a reset ever 1-2 weeks.. like the massive camps.. if people have 20 tents full of shit.. that after 1-2 weeks half of it de-spawns. and yes this indeed would keep the coastal rape rate down.. since nobody has full gear and top-notch weapons anymore. -

first of all dayz isn't about the loot to begin with.. it's the 'experience' but that's my point of view.. if you play dayz for the loot aspect of things.. it gets boring REALLY quickly... and I mean REALLY quickly.. i've seen bases with 3000 rnds of ammo/guns/cars you name it.. enough food/water/cans to feed a small city.. but then the question arises: what now? sit around the campfire telling vietnam stories? or 'the good 'ol days' nah... dayz is about surviving.. going out there and prepping your own meal.. fishing/hunting.. staying alive.. my personal experience.. as SOON as you hunker down somewhere with a group.. it becomes boring real quickly and the MORE frustrating when you log on the next weekend meeting and some *()&&^( has jacked all of the stuff you guys collected.. if you have most of the stuff ON your char.. nobody will steal that (apart from the occasional bandit that is too lazy to find their own ammo or gun) -

'Something every new player should know before starting' ^ don't start playing because you'll be disappointed.. wait another month or 6 before you start.. than at least you'll have a game that looks realistic and feels somewhere of a survival game.. instead of a black/white walking simul. -
i'm siding with the fact that their slacking man... but 4 months aint abandoned... the average was 1 update/2.5 months.. then dropped to 3 months.. now dropped to 4 since the new rendering engine and such.. caused so many issues and kinda set the devs straight.. for thinking outside the box to much in this stage of dev. but they aint abandoning this..
-
welcome to dayZ standalone man... today is exactly 4 MONTHS and 1 DAY since the last exp version came out... and 'Posted 10 Dec 2015' by boneboys was the last post in stable.. so that's 5 months and 5 days... we'll prob. get 0.60 end of this month.. (my first guess was half of april, but that aint happening no more.. they went down from 4 updates a year.. to (at current speedl) 3 updates/year I might not be an addict like most people with 800-1000+ hours (currently having 345 hours of SA myself and about 500 in the mod) but the progress at this stage... is pathetic.. for the amount of stuff we're getting.. we'll ultimately say: we're getting this.. and it took the devs (almost) 4.5 months to get there.. (since exp is 1-2 weeks should there not be screw ups) if there are.. it's back to the drawing board all together. I've learned to accept the fact that dayz dev is slowing down.. but we'll see what they put out end of the month (if they put out) so we can see for ourselves if 'problem' areas + the other cities have a 50% fps gain or more.. the trailers and all look good and their 'plans' but I remember when the suicide animation was first announced.. full on hype.. took 4-5 weeks to get it working.. and for all its flashy youtube announcement video it got.. it is 'just one feature'
