  1. Just did some zed testing. Seems like you need to be in visual range for them to hear gunfire. Upon hearing the fire they'll turn towards you and may/may not aggro. After I disposed of my test subject, another did respawn very close by. HOWEVER, he seemed to be stopped by a wall I ran past. He couldn't see me through the wall and when I went back to bait him he ran around the wall and not through it. It's only one occurrence, but maybe the pathing problem is on the road to being fixed?
  2. Personally, I'd love to seem them respawn and aggro like crazy in firefights. Make it nearly impossible for someone to die in a firefight and then rush back to loot their own corpse. This is not C.O.D. or Rust, this is supposed to be a zombie game. Make them dangerous and make them react to squad play & firefights. But make sure to fix the wall and pathing glitches first.
  3. I've seen zeds follow me up first flight stairs if they're right behind me.
  4. Has anyone else noticed that there seems to be fewer zeds and they don't seem to respawn instantly at the moment?

    T3N RDS Optics Help!

I just had this happen as well. Looted a bandit who had the optics already installed and I kept looking under the gun. Tried relogging and that cleared it up.
  6. It takes a while since you only fill 1-2% each attempt, but as long as it's raining just open your inventory and right click your bottle(s). "Catch rain water..." should be your first option.
  7. I just hope they don't back off the rain TOO much. I like being able to fill water bottles and canteens with rain water. It's a lot easier and safer than trying to get water from wells or ponds where people camp to snipe you.

    Does rain affect or not?

Also be careful with keeping things in pants and shirt/coat pockets. Getting soaked can ruin items in your pockets as well. I lost a pristine magnum because I took a quick dip in the ocean.

The rarest sh*t I ever found

Be careful with those Saskatchewans! You don't want them breaking into your shed. Dirty c*%k s$&kers.
  10. I've noticed sometimes that when I eat or drink something sometimes I wind up keeping that item but it will be at 0% in my inventory. It seems to happen most often if I have a server restart or a disconnect and have to switch servers. However, I've noticed it also happens at random without changing servers. So I'll eat an orange and then instead of disappearing I'll still have an orange in my pocket. Usually I forget about it and then try to eat it later only to find out that d'oh! it's 0% and nothing is left. I wonder if anyone has come along after I threw good looking but empty items on the ground and tried to eat or drink them. Poor guys!

    Keeping Empty Items Glitch

Walking up stairs...slip on a banana... "You are dead."
  12. I've noticed that if you're on top of a building or on an upper level and the zeds see you, they'll aggro and then be kind of attached to you, but on the ground level. It seems like they'll still wear themselves out as if they were chasing you. I can't see through walls, so I'm not sure, but I think eventually the wind up facing away from you and just kind of stand inside the building (especially if there are areas on the ground that aren't accessible). I'd have to do some actual investigating to see how that works but it might be another way to clear areas like Gubbjeveln's "hearding" idea. Lock them in a room and loot away.

    Keeping Empty Items Glitch

I do hope they bring back the empty can functionality from the mod. Especially since you can catch rain to use for drinking.

    Keeping Empty Items Glitch

Again, I need to reiterate that my problem is NOT with invisible items. They are totally visible both in my inventory and when I place them on the ground. I am completely able to grab the items and move them around. I can also swap them with other items, no problem. My problem is that they're phantom items. I can see, touch, and use the items, but they are 0% full.

    Keeping Empty Items Glitch

Thanks for the link. However, it sounds like you're having a different problem. My items aren't invisible, I can actually see them and interact with them. They're just empty and unusable. Both are quite frustrating though, I'm sure!

    Decals, Stencils, and Spray Paint

I'd say keep multi-colored spray paint, but leave the rest. Instead of trading it for less zombies, I'd say trade it for silly gear that never gets used like pink boonie hats. You already have the option to paint weapons and helmets either green or black, all you'd have to do is add four more colors.

    Keeping Empty Items Glitch

I just throw it on the ground and it's no problem. It's funny though, to see an unopened can of soda or a pristine apple laying there with the option to pick it up but in reality there's nothing there. I wonder if it's related to how you could use an empty tin can to drink water in the mod?
  18. I've also noticed that while you can't necessarily outrun the zeds, you can "outlast" them. Their stamina is pretty low so if you just keep running in a straight line they'll eventually tire out and stop chasing you. What might be interesting would be if they actually kept following you. They'd slow down, sure, but they wouldn't just stop, they would continue in the direction they saw you running. That way, maybe you'd outrun a zed or two and make it to a safe spot to loot, but by the time you got out of the house they'd be back on your tail. Of course, if someone else crossed their path before that, they'd naturally give chase to that person instead.
  19. I noticed today while target practicing and checking the respawn rate/location that zeds aren't attracted to sound. Once the pathing glitch is squared away, I'd like to see them respond to sound. Maybe not instant aggro, but at least turn the direction the sound came from?

    Decals, Stencils, and Spray Paint

I like the idea of varied spray paint colors. Keep it simple with red, blue, yellow, and white for sure. Better yet, find a way to make it a "rural" loot. Something that only spawns outside of cities and military areas. That way, when you want to get your Crips and Bloods decked out, you have to leave your hunting grounds first.

    Rify Issues

I like looting Rify because it's a safe haven from zeds, but also totally intense to run into other players inside the maze. I do find a couple things frustrating with it though. First, in the lower levels of the rear half, a lot of times I can't access loot that's behind the open doors on top of lockers or behind turned over bunk beds. I've tried getting as close as I can and checking Tab, but that doesn't seem to help. Second, in the same rooms I lay down to check under the beds. However, as soon as you lay down you get "soaked". Since some people have had troubles with things getting ruined from being soaked (myself included), this is kind of aggravating. I understand it's a shipwreck, but let me hear water under my feet if I'm going to get wet. Outside of that, I love Rify and hope I can find enough rolls of duct tape to put it back together and sail the high seas and saunter into Cherno looking for rowdy buccaneers to fill my motley crew. Yarrrrr!
  22. Had a problem at NE airfield earlier. Was engaged by two zeds and then any time I'd kill one they'd respawn and come running. I kept dancing with them and wound up in a rotating fight with 2-4 zeds at a time. It was kind of exhausting. The respawn, ultra-vision, and wall walking can't get fixed fast enough. Otherwise, I love their speed, strength, and aggressiveness.
  23. Just recently started playing and I've been enjoying it. I agree with everyone that fixing the wall glitch should be a priority. However, I like their speed, strength, and health at the moment. I'm guessing their super vision has something to do with the wall glitch? One thing I'd like to see is some sort of safe haven. It seems at the moment if you can get on the 2nd level of a building they typically can't/don't follow you up, they just sit at the bottom of the stairs screaming at you. When I spawn it's hard enough trying to loot without worrying about zeds coming at me when I'm unarmed. I think it would be kind of cool to limit them to ground floors, but maybe they scream louder and attract other zeds and so you're forced to decide whether you want to dash past one or loot and hope 10 more don't show up. Keep up the good work, looking forward to see where the next round of changes will take us.
