Do Zombies Dream Of A Good Nights Sleep? (Zombie feedback)
jknitt replied to SmashT's topic in General Discussion
Just did some zed testing. Seems like you need to be in visual range for them to hear gunfire. Upon hearing the fire they'll turn towards you and may/may not aggro. After I disposed of my test subject, another did respawn very close by. HOWEVER, he seemed to be stopped by a wall I ran past. He couldn't see me through the wall and when I went back to bait him he ran around the wall and not through it. It's only one occurrence, but maybe the pathing problem is on the road to being fixed? -

Personally, I'd love to seem them respawn and aggro like crazy in firefights. Make it nearly impossible for someone to die in a firefight and then rush back to loot their own corpse. This is not C.O.D. or Rust, this is supposed to be a zombie game. Make them dangerous and make them react to squad play & firefights. But make sure to fix the wall and pathing glitches first. -

I've seen zeds follow me up first flight stairs if they're right behind me. -

Has anyone else noticed that there seems to be fewer zeds and they don't seem to respawn instantly at the moment? -
I just had this happen as well. Looted a bandit who had the optics already installed and I kept looking under the gun. Tried relogging and that cleared it up.

Does being wet or soaked have any effect on you?

It takes a while since you only fill 1-2% each attempt, but as long as it's raining just open your inventory and right click your bottle(s). "Catch rain water..." should be your first option. -

I just hope they don't back off the rain TOO much. I like being able to fill water bottles and canteens with rain water. It's a lot easier and safer than trying to get water from wells or ponds where people camp to snipe you. -
Also be careful with keeping things in pants and shirt/coat pockets. Getting soaked can ruin items in your pockets as well. I lost a pristine magnum because I took a quick dip in the ocean.

Be careful with those Saskatchewans! You don't want them breaking into your shed. Dirty c*%k s$&kers.

Walking up stairs...slip on a banana... "You are dead."

I've noticed that if you're on top of a building or on an upper level and the zeds see you, they'll aggro and then be kind of attached to you, but on the ground level. It seems like they'll still wear themselves out as if they were chasing you. I can't see through walls, so I'm not sure, but I think eventually the wind up facing away from you and just kind of stand inside the building (especially if there are areas on the ground that aren't accessible). I'd have to do some actual investigating to see how that works but it might be another way to clear areas like Gubbjeveln's "hearding" idea. Lock them in a room and loot away. -
I do hope they bring back the empty can functionality from the mod. Especially since you can catch rain to use for drinking.

Again, I need to reiterate that my problem is NOT with invisible items. They are totally visible both in my inventory and when I place them on the ground. I am completely able to grab the items and move them around. I can also swap them with other items, no problem. My problem is that they're phantom items. I can see, touch, and use the items, but they are 0% full.

Thanks for the link. However, it sounds like you're having a different problem. My items aren't invisible, I can actually see them and interact with them. They're just empty and unusable. Both are quite frustrating though, I'm sure!

I'd say keep multi-colored spray paint, but leave the rest. Instead of trading it for less zombies, I'd say trade it for silly gear that never gets used like pink boonie hats. You already have the option to paint weapons and helmets either green or black, all you'd have to do is add four more colors.
