But you are just killing random players? Strategy isn't the worst.
-
Typo doesn't look so good. Idea is nice though. If you made the DayZ look more authentic, choose better font then it would be really cool.
-
I think this is theb est video that is ever made about dayz. Wish I ran into something like that in dayz.
-
I would not.
-
I am alive since mid-february. At that time, we could.
-
Fair enough, I don't judge anyone.
-
Sure do. I just haven't died. Or well, I did once. Logged out and next time logging in in was naked on coast. That counts as a death. My post here was obviously on a joking-side.

Well, yes of course. I agree completely. It would be pretty unbelieveable if meat was eaten todays quanities. Because we eat far more than we need and would be reasonable. Also, todays production is greatly built on waste of resources. No doubt our ancestors were much more thoughtful when planning their use of food sources. I also agree that farmer would not slaughter his animals for meat because one cow worth of meat was worth much less in long term than getting milk from it regularly. But growing animals in farms became much much later. For long time, longer than beginning of growing animals till today, hunting was main source for meat. And meat was valuable food. And it was used for food before ancestors learnt to cook different products from raw resources such as grain, herbs, vegetables. So, its value isnt really overestimated. It is natural part of our diet. People can choose what they want but vegetarianism wasn't due to it being a natural way of living and feeding. Cheers.

I don't quite understand what you mean by relatively large amount but hunting has been part of human evolution from close to beginning. Meat had a great role on our food table, even if it wasn't major role. I don't think, and neither is it proved, that human evolved from frugivores(it is only speculation and as much proven as that our ancestor was omnivore) or herbivores. Meat doesn't just come from a farm. Hunting plays a big part. Meat from hunting was regular food even though the consumption wasn't half as excessive as it today. Today, human is omnivore and hunting plays as big part as gathering/farming does. That means, in a survival situation such as it appears in DayZ. For a person with skills and knowledge will be able to catch a game. Person without would rather eat some poisonous herbs/berries and die anyway. That is, there is a great deal bigger chance to find poisonous herbs than poisonous meat. I know, I have made assumptions myself before. I wouldn't put a bet on them though.

Chernarus is fictional post-soviet country, timeframe is 2009 according to armaverse. It was joint operation that involved alliance presence, hence why there are different western weaponry and equipment. I like to see it that way and it is BIs story for ArmA2 setting in Chernarus.

I don't loot. I already have everything and when you don't die, you don't lose your stuff. Worked for me pretty well so far.

Well, hunting wild game does not require edible resources to be wasted on growing animals and you get much more balanced meal when vegetables and meat is combined. I wouldn't give up eating meat any day because it does feed my organism. The way I see it. I don't really care what scientists say about that, it is my body, my organism and I know what I need to keep on living and going. It is not about killing, it is about food and what I choose to it. Of course, I agree. There are many reasons why one becomes vegetarian. I don't judge them. But dayz will be purely made around what nature and broken down society offers, not to specifically fit anyones needs. :)

Many people have been resort to cannibalism in history. Killing others for food or just eating ones that died to starvation. People would do bad things if it was necessary.
-
I'll just ask one question and I am being completely neutral. What was that you did in vanilla mod after being geared up? It is understandable that there isn't much content by game but you can try to make your own content. Learn to interact in ways that don't get you killed, for first thing. People are much more willing to talk to you when they are obviously on an inferior position. After you can go around and speak to people without killing them or them killing you, you can guide them, feed them, team up, hold them up, do effective banditry and whatelse. It will become more interesting. If you see the gear as only content in game, you won't like dayz in any stage. Not now, not in final release form.

What we were and what we are are two different things. Speculating where we originate from and who are our ancestors, what they were eating and such won't give us any profit in that matter because these would be all speculations and we still are what we are. I am most definitely carnivore. Doesn't matter what my ancestors were. Lets ask from vegetarian then. For what reason did you decide to become vegetarian? Many vegetarians I know decided to become one just because they think killing another living creature for food is wrong. Whatever it is, that does relate killing animal and vegetarianism - if you don't eat meat because you don't want animals to be killed for food then you shouldn't be killing another living creature yourself.

Was worth a shot. It seemed like you were for choosing that one thing to point out from my actual point. It was uncalled for, though, so sorry about that.

DayZ SA's current state in a nutshell.

People never get tired of complaining and whining, it appears. Scientific fact if you ask me. -
Fresh food should be scarace in a wasteland. But firstly, I don't see how other foods will become more rare and secondly, I can't imagine if the game should now be made balanced for omnivores and vegetarians equally - this is no anti-discrimination simulator. People either adapt or die. Exactly how it should be in real world. I have nothing against vegetarians, after all that is said. It is just how it is.
-
Yes, I forgot about bacon. Now, if you just reminded me of that without making a witty comment as you, people, always do, I would actually try to go on with this discussion. But since you are just another narrow minded root-eater, I won't bother. Now that is settled, food in game right now is still 99% veggy, 1% meat. So your comment doesn't actually change anything and your statement is pointless. even more that you ignored the really important part of my post to prove how right you are and how wrong I am. Vegetarians will survive exactly how they have survived so far, that sums up your discussion.
-
At current state we are all vegeterians and everyone can survive with current options. So there is no actual "if". Hunting only bring meat to game, other options won't disappear. Till fresh food isn't scarace and the nutrition values and food characteristics simulating reality, there isn't much question. You can go by eating milk powder or berries for 10 years no problem.
