Well, not really. COD or not, basic infantry tactics help in any environment and situation. I even go as far to say that RV engine and games around it has been made to implement the tactics the best possible way. Though there isn't a tactics that will guarantee your survival in every situation. The tactics are just a way to gain advantage and increase the chances. I have played the mod for a long time, trying to implement the tactics in my gameplay and teach them to my squad members and it does help but it doesn't mean that you engage against 7 man with your 7-man squad and everyone will survive. Flanking has one negative side when you play against other infantry-survivors - it is always expected. I have been in so many contacts where I come out as a winner by easiest way - take a shot and expect to be flanked. Counter-drills are much more efficient than flanking. *** And you really can't teach people combat tactics by typing text on internet forum, which makes this guide helpful for all survivors. It is as good as it can get if you want to just learn something about combat by reading. Actually learning means practicing in countless variety of situations, feedback. And eventually it all comes to a point where you are depending on your senses. No matter which drill you deploy, if you can't place yourself on a map properly and think through your actions, you will be dead meat.

Yes, you can run your games in 1080p fine. Budget and location? Most definitely there are better laptops around.

It will play DayZ decently, thou that is odd resolution. But I still put my bet on decent. 750m is decent card and that CPU is good enough. 5400rmp drive is slow. Really slow. And 32GB SSD is too small if you want more than just Linux on it. Between these options, I would personally pay the money for 512GB SSD.

Well, it does definitely not prefer different "manufacturers" card but to me, it seems that it prefers one architecture over another. Looking at synthetic benchmarks and the same comparison (7850vs760), AMD gets beaten in all but computing power - it just might be that more and high-poly geometric and textures are what tear down performance in cities. I have actually read about it from somewhere that the poly-count was incredibly high in this game for such simple objects. So, it is not really about the manufacturer but how the processing units are developed and produced. And, the higher graphic settings you go, the more GPU intensive it gets. That would be engine causing it.

I'll make it really simple. 270X is a lot cheaper than 670 being what I would call "small margin" slower in most games. While we are at it - to me, it seems that DayZ runs better on slightly less powerful AMD cards than Nvidias counterparts. I have tried to play DayZ on HD7850, which is mid-end card at best, GTX660Ti and GTX760. While 660Ti is little more powerful card, 760 beats 7850 in 99% of new titles (1% is really badly optimized for nvidia). However, even though I never hit as high FPS with 7850 as it was with 660Ti/760, the minimum frames did not drop below 20 with it. Test setup wasn't exactly high-end PC with 3570K 4.4GHz, 2x4GB 1866 CL9 RAM, 840EVO SSD. Even though the avg FPS is unknown to me because there was no measuring done, 7850 dealt a lot better with FPS drops. Now, even though 670 is more powerful - you will get an SSD within the budget with 270X. And SSD will have huge impact on loading times in DayZ which improves the performance in game overall + it adds much to usage overall, not only DayZ. DIdn't end up really simple but it is what it is. e: I haven't yet got to OC my 290 further than factory OC but for mid-end AMD cards, the OCing adds quite a bit of performance. I was able to juice further 30% core clock from my 7850 to run it stable for any stress-testing. And it added a lot of performance to games, making it comparable to factory default 7870. Now, clocking the new R-series card can be little more pain in ass, it does help significantly.

SSD will help you bring down loading times in SA, drastically. 4770 is 4670 with HT and only slightly higher clock. Won't make difference for that extra cost. 270X will run all your games decently. If my goal was to play bf3 or cod then I would get 670 because those games favor Nvidia cards but for DayZ, it seems to be opposite. That power supply seems still cheesy. Won't have any room for likely even minor GPU OC.

Hard to guess what kind of FPS will you get. 270X would run DayZ pretty well. I am not sure of UK prices so I can't really judge if it is a good or bad price for one but you will not benefit much from that i7. Could save around 100$ by getting an i5 (i think that is equivalent to about 60£). That 330W PSU smells bad though, I think that 270X is downlocked to lower power consumption to safe levels. Another odd thing is 1x8GB RAM Dual Channel - I can't figure out a way how one module could work in dual channel. My guess is, it is overpriced. Because it is Alienware and the fact that it would cost around 1300$.

You will face plenty unplayable situations with HD4000 iGPU. And for the fact that you only have 4GB RAM and iGPU uses part of it, you can have VRAM bottlenecking.

No. You could try at very low resolutions and lowest settings but likely, answer remains no. Because of that GT 610 You must have DirectX installed, otherwise you wouldn't be able to even start the game.

I understand you meant coin by quarter but not sure. As I said, this is unlikely but not impossible. I couldn't shoot that accurately because my vision is f**ked up but there sure are persons who can. At 300m though and so light-weight bullet as 5.56 is, the grouping would be around 1-1.5cm because of just the weapon characteristics. How big is the quarter diameter anyway?

Let's not jump on conclusions - he might be Hawkeye. I don't know how big the quarter is but not over size of 5cm diameter so yeah, it is what it is. Anyway, it IS possible to shoot that accurately but it would be really rare among the whole army. On a side note, when I have drank 6 cans of beer, I become better shooter as well. At least according to my words. :)

Many countries us Galil variants though. Estonian professional army is all based on Galil - AR, SAR are the popular ones. :) There are more post-soviet countries who use/have used the same models. Cheers, man.

I agree with you. It is not about balancing the weapon system by modifying ballistics for each weapon but about which weapons to implement into the game. If keeping it realistic is the purpose then realistic it should be.
