Yes, it does. It may have problems with utilizing all available threads for best efficiency for a CPU but it does use multi-threading. Good luck in DayZ

People always look for easy way. Ways to give up. That is what is wrong with people. You don't give up. You will crawl for days till your find a solution to your problem and survive. Don't be pussies.
-
If you really want to help people, put them down to a situation where you are in choice of their life and death. Then people can reason with you. If you are in an inferior position, you will get killed for what you have and what others need.
-
This is a death simulator. Accept it how it is and adapt. Or die. And die again. Till you are with the game or out of it. If I gave someone ammo for their weapon, I would just in case hold their head on my sight. Because people do stupid things occasionally.
-
There is nothing about how to deal with your loss. I play DayZ with one life at the time. When you die, you are dead. For me, there is no loss because I don't play the game for the count of hours. I play it for the fun it brings and life is all good and fun till it lasts. Luckily there is more than one life in DayZ so you can have even more fun with less of a loss.

I am better off moving straight into town, scanning while on the move and using covers from possible firing points than scouting the hills. I rarely stop on the hills for overwatch - only when my approaching direction allows me to without time going to waste. Usually that only happens in Zelenogorsk because there are good distant hills covering almost half of the area where I could approach the city. Also on airfields I do that because covers are long distance from each other when you are in the area. Being careful is not bad but sometimes being too careful may be lethal to you. It will slow you down and make you become a sitting duck for potential murderers. Better to think through your movement and do it fast and stealth, looking around you, avoiding VPs and possible FPs, use the inside of the houses when there are more than 1 entrance, know your surroundings well and plan further your way out if needed. It pretty much depends on a situation but overall, knowing where you are and how to get there/get out of there fast will help you stay alive. Sitting on a hill gives little to none advantage to a survivor, only to a potential bandits,

The first 3 dayz in DayZ - my story.

I couldn't find the part where there was something wrong with the game even though the post as a whole is bitching about something? -
I don't think so. I think they should make bigger items to be able to carry in hand slot only. There shouldn't be that big items that a player wouldn't be able to carry at all (like engine - would be fun to see a guy running around with one). Better having smaller parts that can be put together to bigger instead. people would just block the houses with hescos and eventually it would result in big cluster-f**k where no one can enter buildings. Doesn't matter for what purpose they would add them, people will use them just to f**k around and affect others experience negatively.
-
I am happy that it worked out fine for you. Have fun playing and trust no one! :)
-
Not only would take hell of a lot digging but require hell of a big backpack to carry them around. Even the smallest ones wouldn't fit in a mountain backpack.
-
I truly hope the hescos won't be implemented. sandbags though, planks and such would be nice though to make some construction. I would look for some small and lonely house, near forest or pond maybe.

What you do with computer then? SSDs are not used to hold media and doing so doesn't really give you the benefits either considering the costs. SSDs are not new, they have been around for many years. The lifespan is not a problem. Cheaper SSDs will last you 8 years as OS/program drives. Everything in your computer will be outdated by far before your SSD will drop out. You can't even imagine what kind of change you will be facing when switching to SSD over regular HDD. Even the cheapest and slowest SSDs will outperform fastest HDDs. Color calibration won't make any difference in brightness or whatever. It is only for color-reproduction and it is not worth the premium (usually comes for quite an extra cost) for your uses. It is for graphic designers for printing so the screen shows the colors exactly how they will be printed. The soundcard only affects the sound of your headphones if your headphones need extra amp. If not, you will be fine. For 100$ or sub, I wouldn't worry about it. On-board does fine. For average user, portable headphone amps are just fine and come for reasonable price. Do some research before you buy one though because there are shitty and good ones mixed up everywhere.

getting wet: visual effect instead of text messages

I like this idea. Beans. -
Well, yes. There are signs but not everyone would be able to differentiate. So, these messages would work just fine. Just if person has gun wounds or been bitten and such.
-
I don't see how you could find out the dead person name. or name at all without him/her telling it to you. So nametags would be no for me. Studying body to find out cause of death (like if player was shot or he died non-violent death (no outside injuries, wounds and such so he probably died to some sort of illness/thirst/starvation. Finding out exact cause of death would be odd though, like if he died due to starvation or from force-feeding disinfectant - no possible way to know that by looking at body.

Mask slot maybe? I like the idea of option to have shemags and different ways to wear it. It is not like you have to wear it like a bandit. It is everyone's choice, they can if they want. I would wear it around the neck definitely. Mask slot seems to fit the best as you are still able to wear glasses and hats then.

Yes, showing the possibilities of this game. Most people who stream this game, just mess around or talk something aside from playing. I'd like to see one in a real survivor RP style. Like I was watching a movie. DayZ movie. I would like that.

Is this supposed to be special or what?

Making of new engine might speed up the updates but making new one would take... forever. Not literally forever but long enough for people to lose interest in waiting. From a player view, it is really easy for you. Just give me what I want and I am happy to play your game. Now think of devs point of view. It is really hard to give players what they want since everyone wants different things and many want exact opposite from what others do. I hope this makes sense.

Hmm, yes. The loot. It is a problems through the mod and SA. I think it is not about the loot or if it is worth to adventure the map for it. It is more about the players - people are not used to so much freedom in a game that they don't think about going around and discover the map. Other part of players don't even care about the map and just want to sit on a hill and kill players. And the best is to do so on coast where you spawn because there are most players and biggest chance to meet one. I think if there would be towns that you can't fn anywhere else than where they are, people would go and seek for them. Even more if, lets say there would be different loot in them. Like some villages/town has a lumber near it, there could be some gear that can be found in lumbers and not any random location. Same with fields and factories. I can't imagine why would say hoe spawn in or near a building where are obviously no fields nearby. Specific loot and spawns would call people further in map. Other than that, this problem is quite hard to solve because it is not really about map size or buildings on it. For most part I even assume it is not about the game at all but how people are used to play pc games.

I am not saying it is aliens but... ... Aliens.

In my opinion the big map allows you feel the freedom when playing DayZ. I like the Chernarus for all the emptiness there is because it makes everything more realistic for me. Going somewhere takes time, in that time I can see the nature, explore what I may not have seen yet and meanwhile I can get in situations where having the large areas gives me more freedom of choice how I deal with situations. I agree that things look similar everywhere but that doesn't stop be having an adventure on that map. I don't go around just to see buildings. The environment itself creates the right atmosphere for that. I wouldn't mind seeing large variation of different buildings and towns, How I see it, modeling those buildings isn't all that difficult, takes time but a team could do a lot in time when DayZ is in alpha. I don't expect all buildings to be different but there could be some villages or towns that only consists of buildings you can find there and nowhere else. making few villages of 15-20 houses wouldn't and shouldn't be difficult for bunch of 3D artists. Even more, I think they could take a submissions from outside of their dev team - I bet there are many people playing the game who would like to participate in creating it. They could help to create the models for this game. Both parties would win - players get more variation without having to put more work on dev team. Even more, they could model trees and whatever would be needed. Overall, it depends so much on a player - there are people that expect different things from the game. I, for example, didn't enjoy Skyrim all that much.

People are worrying way too much about banditry. It is how people choose to play and I don't see anything wrong with it. And you can't decrease it without setting limits to players so it shouldn't be changed. If anything, players should change their playstyle but it is up to them. I don't like the idea even though I would be able to enter this map if it was implemented.
-
I am not your buddy. Don't call me buddy.Your suggestion differentiates from others by small and unimportant details while the result is all the same. If you want bandit/hero skin, go play mod. Having such thing in SA takes away from realistic approach and definitely it is not needed. Learn to play and you don't get killed. Making these threads won't help you with that.
-
what about stopping with these suggestions already? there are two of those every day. Use search function instead. Pointless argument with a short-sighted person. That is exactly why you can't be taken seriously.
