    That is a good question. Hmmm... I think it is not really about invading countries (I doubt US had actually planned to invade any of the countries that they deployed to) but showing off the force and finding the boundaries. Right now, no weighting sanctions have been applied to Russia for that Crimean crap which only means to them that the road is open to do whatever they want. They don't start a full-scale war but take small countries over which big nations don't want to start a war. I think me, or you, are unable to understand the real situation or what is going on behind the curtains. Even speculating would be too much, especially in DayZ Suggestion sub-forum topic.

    But sometimes you would prefer to hold the blood-bag for longer than just some hours :) If you could get away keeping the blood-bag in good condition for say 48 hours, that would be sufficient time.

    Well, as they say - to each their own and everyone's needs will never be satisfied. The non-lethal weapons and need for it can be debatable. I would say they are not necessarily needed but they would be nice add. Saying again that people who potentially abuse this feature, do the same with any other features so it doesn't make it any better or worse for them. I like my gear as well and I am not afraid of losing it in some sort of awesome firefight. I am not sad either if I lose it to some killer who hunts me down and shoots dead for fun. There are all kind of psychos walking the earth, you know. And obvious is, I would as well use lethal force if I was engaged at. I think it is just something like "Oh, I ran into a survivor on the street. He did have weapon but didn't look like much threat at the first sight so I kocked him over to win myself time to get out of his way for both of our safety". Only people I would actually kill, if I had a chance, would be bambiekillers and only when I saw one killing bambie, not because I think they may have killed bambie. Can't judge on the looks if anyone is bandit or not. I met two Russian guys at NWAF in the first hours of playing SA. They were nice. I was cornered in jail second floor with broken legs but had an advantage of better position and better close-combat firearm and they ended up putting away their weapons and trading my M4 for morphine and Mosin and some ammo for it. So, for me - no matter in how shitty situation you are in, you can still play the cards in your favor. Could have killed them both in first encounter but gave them chance to drop weapons and interact with me. And they did, which was nice. Restored some faith of mine in the player base. Again, I start going off-topic, god damn it. But I have nice stories to tell :)

    It seems like paraolympics here, no offence for people with disability. SA isn't a copy of mod. If you expected it to be a copy of it, you should be disappointed. Mod still exists, why not play it rather than complain how SA fails to copy the Mod? It is not like the complaining would matter, SA won't be like Mod and I, personally, am happy for that. So, please, pull your nose out of your own butthole and look around. People who were waiting for Standalone to come out - I'd say majority - didn't want another mod. They wanted something new. Something more focused on survival which is key feature in SA as for now. They didn't want to build skyscrapers out of HESCOs or fly Venoms or nuke Elektro to kill all the bambies. I, at least, did not want that. I am extremely happy what the SA has now and I am patient enough to wait for what will be added. My experience with it - I couldn't compare it to mod because the mod couldn't deliver such experience in a year that SA did in a day. So, please, if you would be so nice and stop whining about lack of bicycles and other random things such as too much clothing. People, who work with modeling items, don't work with collision issues with zombies. It is being worked on hopefully and will be fixed (hopefully). If you don't like the game, please don't play it.

    If you are encouraged to KoS because of non-lethal weapons, you are already encouraged enough - this would be just an excuse. I am not judging you, I don't really mind if people do that. It is your choice of style then so be it. :) You can shoot injure them and then approach? I mean, there are endless options how to do it, having such feature would not make it worse or better but it would give some people option to let other player live and get out alive.

    Well, the environment is built around story that BI came up with (such as US with its appearance tried to push back communist rebels from taking over the country) and you know the drill, where is US, there is NATO and where is NATO there is everyone. It could be like impact between Russian forces and Alliance forces. Well, maybe not everyone but UK makes sense as biggest alliance for US. Anyway, I still vote for Galil SAR/AR than that is it for now :)

    They could receive a temporary injury - not necessarily blood-loss because that wouldn't make much sense if it doesn't make you bleed. Distracted vision from pain and slowed-down moving. Well, for whatever purpose you use it, it would be a nice add if it could be made a short-range weapon (ammunition). I would rather choose to be knocked down as well than killed on sight because someone "thought" I was looking very bandit-like (which I may look because I usually wear military clothing and stuff like that for concealment). And I have seen people "think" that way even though I have meant no harm to them (which is why I played 9/10 of my time in mod as a bandit killing everything and anything and even hunting people down on purpose - no camping thought, that is lame and unsafe to do alone). I just want to stay alive and not ruin anyone's gaming experience and that would let me do so.

    I don't see why should I run around and yell people to stop and drop their weapons. I would use the non-lethal weapon/ammo if I ever ran into one and had to stop him from doing anything foolish. That would be the case. Chasing survivors and checking their backpacks is not my pair of beans. Shotgun with rubber bullets shoots say 50m effectively to be able to actually knock you off. It hurts for a lot longer distance but yeah. If a bandit is 50m from say bambies then he will be exposed and easy target for others (which they rather wouldn't do if they could just kill bambie from say 300m). I want this to be confirmed - are you or are you not able to move with hands cuffed?

    Well, it is not like I am suggesting to have a .50cal sniper rifle with non-lethal ammo. Also note that rubber-ammunition don't have the same ballistics applied - the range is drastically shorter and drop increased because of aerodynamics. Say a shotgun with non-lethal ammo would be simply enough because only time I would need to shoot players, would be when I can't avoid them (meaning they are too close to me). I haven't been handcuffed myself, are you implying that you cannot move while hands cuffed?

    As I said before, world is a cruel place with cruel people on its surface. People kill for less than a can of pepsi in reality while there are no zombies around. It makes sense they need even less than that to kill someone in a video game. You don't have to apologize for that you wanted to interact. You just should change the way to do it. I am really friendly guy and all but if someone ran into my face then I would think there is something wrong with him - maybe I wouldn't shot him dead on the very same spot but definitely keep my aim on him. After all, this is survival game and unnecessary courageous actions won't help you with that. You either adapt to live with it or just die. It works in life as well.

    I carry M4 as well. And I do not plan on killing anyone but will if necessary. It is what it is. For rest, I agree to disagree. There is little to no difference how bandits kill or torture freshies. If not with non-lethal ammo, they shoot them with lethal. No difference. The banditry won't be affected to negative by this just because they have equivalent possibilities to torture players right now. And you can't really force anyone to slavery in this game. He will run away, then what? They kill him and he spawns again. I don't see how lethal weapons/ammo would affect this radically. I feel like in such environment non-lethal ammo would make more sense than finding working tazers. Like, the non-lethal ammo could have been used in attempt to force infected people to stay away (like before it was known that they indeed were infected) by police or even military. Using that kind of ammo to stop the riots is much more effective than try to taze everybody. So finding tazers laying around would take more away from authentic feeling.

    Well, then it should at least be safe for fresh-spawns. I mean, you can use everything for either good or bad purpose. For me, having non-lethal weapon for self-defense is rather good thing, lethal on other hand bad thing. Taken that my intention is not to kill people, it will become difficult once I have say M4 to protect myself with. But the whole meaning of having it not knock you out but just knock you down would be so they can't just shoot you unconscious and loot your gear but you will be able to get back again short after. Obviously a way will be found how to use it for banditry but that is how it is.

    Never been dick to him. Just trying to explain the situation. Even after it is being said that the bicycles are coming in soon, there are several reasons why not put broken stuff into game to satisfy players temporarily.

    There could be other aspects to this. If player is getting shot at from lethal weapon (or well, how lethal the .22 is), it reveals the nature of other player. Say, if player gets shot at from non-lethal weapon or hit by this rubber bullet and it has this specific effect - like knocking player down and somewhat darken-blur vision that other weapon ammunition doesn't, then he will understand as well that the player who shot him, had no intention to kill him. There is some positive effects to it what I can think of but no negative yet.

    I have never seen point in them nor do I use them for anything - I use steam to store my games and play them from that. But I won't say no to this if people some people may benefit from it. Beans.

    While I played the SA, I ran across the map from west to east from north of NWAF and Devil's Castle and it revealed some huge areas for potential cities. I don't think it would take away the space between NWAF and Berezino because it is quite a distance to south from that place. I would love to see some new buildings and stuff done to this place though, the highway that runs along that route is already impressive - seems to be bigger road than one across the coast and has railway running aside of it. Would be cool, that would call people, that otherwise try to avoid north for its military loot spawns, to adventure and discover the loot options in those cities.

    CZ Scorpion Evo 3 A1

    I am well-aware of that fact :) Many of these vehicles were originally produced in those countries even though they were part of Soviet Union back then so I wouldn't specifically count them as Russian machinery even though Russians developed them. Most of them are significantly improved over original models which were not known by their reliability so could as well say that successful units still originate from these few post-soviet countries. Also, I stated in my post that yes, most of the light weaponry is Russian originated but there are variety of firearms in use. As of now, I do agree and admit my mistake that most of light weaponry as of assault rifles, machine guns and pistols are Russian-made. It will take time for army that big to adapt such radical change in their weaponry in short time but the adaption is indeed in progress. E# As for "army that big" I mean it is not like giving new weapons for platoon and deal is done. The adaption requires adequate technicians, ammunition supplies, training for every single soldier and ability to preserve the ability of defence while doing that. Also, spare parts are needed. I must again apologize for off-topic. :(

    Stuffing Rags in Mouth of Handcuffed Player

    I think breaking bones could be more refined as in you can break either your legs or arms. Say, breaking a hand would mean player inability to use their rifle. I am not a bandit but this could be much more pleasing way for making an opponent harmless than just killing one (which I think would be better for both sides). Most encounters I have had could have ended with a much more pleasing result than blood-mess. I, personally, don't like killing any players and would rather prefer a way to get out of it.

    Possible FPS Enhancer

    People need to understand few things when tweaking their PCs or even upgrading components. - The engine of DayZ-SA(RV) has optimization issues that does not come from insufficient hardware in your PC. When people look up their CPU/GPU loads and they are relatively low even though game is struggling, you can't do much about it. - There is no maximum supported VRAM. Even more, I go as far to say that the game supports 4GB very well. But, VRAM does not affect the performance of your GPU if it is not being utilized at its maximum. Say, you play on fullHD screen, you will never hit the 2GB limit on your GPU so changing that to any higher wouldn't matter. That said, you should play on, say, 3x 4K screens to utilize your 4GB VRAM (averagely, taken into account how low-res textures this game uses). - Whilst this may or may not be changed, changing your usable VRAM to anything besides Automatic, could cause issues for the game engine to properly use the available VRAM. Due to imperfections in engine, you may or may not suffer under bottle-necking. - Force-utilizing HyperThreading may also cause issues due to the engine optimizations. It is not meant to utilize 8 threads, forcing to spread the load on the 8 threads may cause you hitting the engine bottleneck faster. That may cause the game to struggle whilst your CPU stays under light load. - You will not benefit from 16GB of RAM, or 32GB and so on so forth. Also, you won't gain any performance from faster RAM unless you are using an AMDs APU. When the cfg files are un-tweaked, the game uses automatically all it needs from available RAM. - DayZ-SA seems to prefer AMD GPUs over nVidia counterparts (I do not have any detailed and accurate tests results but I have compared how this engine works on at best case mid-class AMD card (7850 2GB) and slightly more powerful GTX660Ti, GTX760 and it seems that slightly less powerful 7850 performs same or at the times even better than more powerful nVidia cards (it may or may not be because of AMDs higher VRAM bandwidth). - If you are using more than one card from either AMD or nVidia, you likely experience more issues to run this game playable quality because of poor optimization for SLI/CF and SLI/CF poor optimization itself. If you do want to run SLI or CF, create a profile for the game under GPU control panel, it may help you gain performance from more than one card but the scaling will be lousy due to RV engine used. - If you are planning on upgrading you PC, you shouldn't prefer HT or more than 4 cores over quad-core CPU which are a lot cheaper. Choose one more powerful GPU over two or more inferior ones (note that the more vcards you have, the bigger issues you will be facing). RAM over 8GB won't help you run the game better, faster RAM only has impact on AMD APUs. However running the game from SSD will significantly lower loading times for geometrics/textures. Hopefully someone will benefit from those few tips or at least save some money by not buying useless components or overpaying for overkill. I am not saying these tweaks won't help you. Some of the things that caused problems in the Mod, may be fixed for SA so try them out before running to shop and spending another thousand dollars on new PC that will run the game at same level of performance.
