I think you will probably have light or medium food poisioning. The difference is the duration and severity, look at the youtube videos of merino dayz for exact info, the relevant one is here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A29-75325kg Exact info is not really neccessary, because: - If you are on high regeneration (bright energized and hydrated), you regain 3 blood/second. - The blood loss because of poisioning is in percentage of your remaining blood, so there will be a level where you loose and gain 3 blood, you will sink to shortly above that. Probably something between 3000 and 1000 blood, but watch the video for exact numbers. - health loss is the same as blood and will therefore also not reach 0. After that you should really invest some time to heal back up again, or you might enjoy one of those funny deaths were blood loss was not the reason. On high regeneration you will get 1 health/second AFTER your blood is full again, so that might take some time. During poisioning there are phases when you use up water faster, so if you have enough energy for a few hours, just visit a lake or something and stay close to it. If anything I wrote confuses above confuses you, just watch merino's videos. Then there are also WOBO or even sacriel42 with videos explaining details, if you are into that. Either way, I think eating raw or burnt steaks and forgoing things like charcoal is the way to go. Makes you all manly and stuff. Vitamins are to my best knowledge still placebos. When I tried burnt steak I got medium food poisoning and the whole thing took about 2h30min. Just remember your energy and hydration. Does that still work? I think that was a bug some time ago, thought it would be out at this point. Trying doesn't hurt though, as long as have enough energy and water is nearby. I think puking will cost you both 1000 energy and water, but you will have plenty of room in your stomach to fill that up again afterwards. At least at some point charcoal always directly skipped you ahead to the last step of poisioning. Does that work differently now?

What's the current hacking status like in DayZ:SA?
bauertschi replied to RadikulRAM's topic in General Discussion
Whenever that shit happens to me, my char does not vanish after some time. He stays there indefinitely. So I would have to wait until server restart or someone kills him - guess that would mean char reset then. -
I just murdered and looted someone very close to me.....
bauertschi replied to ColonelBurton's topic in General Discussion
Happended to me too today. When even I know how it happened, you can be sure the devs know exactly why. For me that started when I was disconnected from a server, reconnected and found my clone still there in the logging out phase. Back then the duplicates vanished and it was rumored that you got a char reset when you killed them and they vanished a little afterwards. The current ones are harder to deal with. The first time I saw that maybe two weeks ago. Then I kept waiting till he vanished, but my clone stood there in the trees for about half an hour. I finally decided to kill him because I was scared of the following szenario: I log out at some point. Sometime later someone kills my clone. Will his death erase my char? Don't want to find out... Btw, the first guy logging out I found in Berezino. I talked to him, he turned his head, looked at me and fruther ignored me. I did not know that the char moves when logging out, so I thought he simply did not want contact. I simply dropped a few cans of opened food at his feet and moved on. What a waste. Concerning your clips, have you tried relogging? -
Being friendly finally paid off
bauertschi replied to IReadTheAgreement's topic in General Discussion
I was once in the firestation in cernaya and all of a sudden a guy looked in through the back door. I had an sks and a sawed of shotgun. He vanished back outside and started talking to me that he was friendly. Took out my shotgun, because I could tell that he stayed just outside and went there. There he was standing just next to me, his armes raised, a berret and all military with a mountain backpack (I think). A zed was just there next to him, blew that thing away, he did not move an inch. We started talking, asked if I need something, I said no if I remember correctly and he simply dropped a pristine lrs for me. Back then they were a little more rare. He then told me that that's what he does, go west, loot everything. And then go back as a friendly and give away the loot. I think his next stop was svetlo. When he saw me, he did not even have a weapon out while I was with my sks in hands. Then just waiting with raised hands outside... . I asked him how long he usually lives, he just laughed at that. I was actually tempted to go with him, but decided not to. There is friendly and then there is suicidal. Whenever I decided to initiate friendly contact, I got attacked. Every single time, unless I AND the other guy(s) had no guns at all. Ok, the three fully geared guys I spotted (a little west of berezino just south of the sniper hill at the police station), called out to and slowly walked to as a bambi with my current char two days ago only told me to drop the backpack, or they would "blow my brains out", because one of them had none. Then they dropped an amphibia with a mag for me - great when you only have a jeans with rags and morphine. When running away I got shot at after being about 200 meters away from them, I first thought it was them, but then all around me ppl started shooting...m4, sks, at least two mosins, all from different directions and really close. I guess they were too involved with each other, or I should have died. Now the question: Why the hell would a geared guy with an m4 (I think), full camo, army vest and at least 10 slots in upper body and pants want an orange taloon backpack in a pvp zone? Especially if he is running with two others with backpacks? EDIT: Just remembered, I once got into a fight with two guy at the hangars at the nwaf. A zed showed my position and they waited outside, I shot first (and missed ;)). I spoke to them, was only unconscious. They were telling me that they are usually friendly, but you know, airfield and all...told them I would go to grishino, if they would bandage me. They were moving west. They bandaged me, took my mosin but gave me an fnx with mag. That was a nice supprise. Woke up about two minutes later and went east. -
As I did not write down dates and created the list out of my memory for the first ones, I can only claim 18 days for sure, but that one life with missing dates should have been longer. With that guy I: - ran in front of a hangar at the neaf, the other did exactly the same, both had sks, killed him. - met a guy at the neaf east prison, both sks, he was upstairs and was waiting, heard me. I also heard him. Shot him through the gap at the stairs. - decided to be friendly to a guy outside svetlo police station. We talked, all of a sudden his friend came. Talked some more, they tried to rob me, which became obvious when one started to hit me with his baseball bat with the other just having an m4 on his back. Well, I had a shotgun and back then they still worked just fine, two shots each. - was friendly to a guy in the berezino school. Back then zeds were really annoying and we spent at least 5 minutes boxing the never ending glitched through the floor zed train in the green house at the water pump together. Then when I went on and another zed attacked me, he teamed with the zed and tried to knock me out. My M4 solved that. - a guy logged in in the upper room of the neaf east prison about 0,5 meters behind me. Almost shit my pants with the reload sound. Shot him in the back. - Stumbled across a guy at the red house in the north of Khelm, had my m4 out - we were maybe 3 meters appart. He had his axe out and was fighting a zed. I shot the zed and walked backwards away from him - of course he swung at me next, broke my arm and I lost over half of my magazine until he was down...that lag. All that was done lonewolfing. My life tends to be much longer when I play alone. Then I met up with two guys (knew them from before) on skype and we went from Berezino to Electro with them shooting everything that moved long range. Just before we came into town, they spotted a geared guy, lost eyes on him again and I got shot dead from the side with a mosin. Then the guy started cussing at me (translated from German) about "how anyone can be such a son of a whore", repeating the "son of a whore" part again and again. Damn was that dude pissed. Still don't know why. That was a great life I think. I shot 7 ppl of which 4 were approached friendly. Nowadays I tend to only live several days, but it's all about how you play. When you go hunting in and around military areas or you walk into big novo, you don't live that long. Sometimes when with a bigger group and going into urban fights, I die multiple times a day. AND I OBJECT highly to anyone getting any information about my style of play from the player list!

I Found A Infinate 60 round M4A1 Hacked Mag, Should I throw it out?
bauertschi replied to Rhaptic's topic in General Discussion
Hmmmm, no. What I did in such situations was empty it, make two sixty stack (was some time ago), throw the rest away. If you kill someone that was just spraying you like an idiot and did not run out or ammo and you take his gun, you should also still find some ammo on his body, unless you were really unlucky that is. Btw, there were some that wrote that the mag resetted with a relog and had that insane amount of bullets again, but that did not happen to me Now, should I get banned for that? When I took the m4 once, I did not even see the attachments including the mag until I relogged. If BE came and banned me for being a cheater in such cases, I would be pissed and I don't think I deserve it. I mean really, I even refuse to look through walls and ppl are not banned for that... Funny thing though, there are many things unlimited. I had a berry, a beer (I think, some can definitely) and M4 mags (from ppl I killed). The berry and the beer I just found. I did not throw those away, I found it funny as hell. The first thing was the beer. I gave away all canteens only to find out that the beer (as the berry) lost it's magic after relogging. That was a disappointment. I mean really, what would be better in the apocalypse than unlimitted beer. And please don't tell me that it is not actually beer, I keep pretending. bauertschi replied to RadikulRAM's topic in General Discussion
Just now watching a twitch stream, a cheater managed to put away the weapon of the player and was running kind of "laggy jumping" really fast. Was on stable. Managed to get behind the player in about 50 meters catching up another 50, don't know if he was teleporting or just that fast, the player was running away and not looking behind at that point. -
Why you don't need to server hop to get geared.. ever.
bauertschi replied to Irish.'s topic in General Discussion
AND Actually I'm kind of unhappy about loot spawns there. I have never used some weapons. That includes the sporter and the CR75. I never had any of those WITH mags before having something (for me) better with ammo. I guess it's like that for most ppl, higher mag spawns of such "lowly used" weapons, especially in civilian areas would increase the diversity of weapons ppl use to shoot at me. And that would be a good thing :). Even though google did not to tell me what the "tacticool combo" is, your post made me smile. Now what is the `"tacticool combo" some just need to have? A picture from google showed a guy with a differernt things like gasmask, m4 (I think) and a mountain backpack - that can't be it... -
Why you don't need to server hop to get geared.. ever.
bauertschi replied to Irish.'s topic in General Discussion
I had like 10 ppl in my multiquote when I arrived at this point. I largely agree that server hopping is the easy way out. The only reason for me to hop is meeting up with ppl. I think it is also a kind of evolution in the style one plays in. You start of and die, because of whatever...my first death was because of zeds in Solnichny. Then I managed to starve once. Then I got an axe through my head after finding my first fountain in Berezino and drinking there from a guy that came from behind....you learn and those things become less of a problem. Then you reach a point where pve is nothing but a nuisance at best, UNLESS you are meleeing zeds AND a player stumbles around the corner. You know the loot spots, so what to do? When you only hop for loot and then go into high traffic areas, you will further improve - in pvp. That's not bad in itself. But I think you cheat yourself. Why is DayZ so great for me? I care about my character. I don't in BF3, what I also play. Caring about your char results in pvp that is completely different than the tradekills in the containers of noshar channels. Many ppl in Berezino don't care about their char at all, that influences their pvp style and I don't like to play there because of that. Some rabid bambi will get you in the end. Not because they are better, but because they don't care if they die 10 times until they finally punch out a geared player.. Btw, play however you want, but also accept that the Berezino tugfest leaves the west underpopulated and is not irrelevant for other players because of that. So why do I think that server hopping is bad for you? With my current char I spawned near Kamishovo. The server was online for more than 3h and completely full. All interesting locations were looted. I stayed on, because it is something new to do, simple and easy. Gear up on a completely full server that has been looted and not getting killed is maybe not that hard. Well the not getting shot part is also luck, but it is something you can do. Something that might be somewhat of a challenge and a different side of DayZ compared to running around with "endgame gear". The server restarted when I was at Electro. I went back onto the same server and went to the police station directly after a firestation. Guess what? Open doors. Usually I am really careful when I don't have a gun. But that pissed me off, no single door open anywhere, but an open police station. Maybe it was a guy like me, most probably though a hopper. Took out my fireaxe, sneaked in and killed the guy in the upper weapon room. What did I find? An SKS and a backpack full of (ruined) pistols and magazines, could have been a hopper. Why was that great? Because I manged to play Thief for some time. Didn't even have to buy the game. Hopping just takes that part of the game out. You go to a good loot spot, even if it is only a police station, look through a few servers and you have a gun. You cut out the part where you are really vulnerable. For me it's like a switch in my brain that flips, when I get my first gun with ammo. I play a completely different game then in terms of what I do and how I do it. You cheat yourself of that. There is also no need to have the best gear all the time. With my last char I shot two guys at the firestation in cernaya polana. I found them and one was looking in my direction. So I shot the other in the back while the first started shooting at me with his SKS. He missed a few times and I shot him, too. Had the free choice between two SKS' and a Mosin with lrs then. A Blaze, two guys, one shot each. Made me feel all warm inside. You don't get that, when you hop for "endgame gear" and start actually playing the game then. And yes, I know there are ppl that love the Blaze, that's not the point here. Coming back to the development argument from above, you keep yourself from becoming a well rounded player. Do not underestimate how learning stealth in your "vulnerable phase" and will make you more dangerous in pvp. Ppl keep saying that everyone can play DayZ however one pleases. True, but hopping is detrimental for players that don't do it. One can argue about the loot balance in DayZ, but there is a balance, and it applies to all players on a server. Hoppers take that balance out, when they loot the "interesting" buildings. Funny thing is though, I think you are more likely to find an unlooted Balota, nwaf, Zelenogorsk or even Gorka on high pop servers than on low pop server, but I might be wrong there. If I am right, this argument might not be so important. Imo hoppers are certainly less of a problem than the Berezino bunch that leaves the west so unpopulated, but I hate them nevertheless. For me hopping is like playing poker and some ppl looking at their hand, keeping a few cards, waiting for 99 seconds and then demanding fresh cards until they finally manage to mix a hand they are happy with. Well, in some kind of poker where you don't neccessarily need the best hand to win, if you show skill...talking in pvp terms here. One last thought. If I was alive for dayz, maybe weeks (have not managed months yet) even though I seek pvp in more westernly regions, gearing up as a bambi is actually a refreshing change, so why not do it in a dangerous environment (high pop server) and under harder conditions (low loot server, so yes, again high pop server) without hopping? I mean really, if you are such a DayZ god, being a bambi must be refreshing after months of being alive and killing hundreds of players. If you are such a boss, you should cry happy tears for getting a break from running around fully geared all the time. So just do it. -

Including this answer (bad me) we now have 13 posts on this page that have nothing to do with the "current hacking status". The topic is accusations, answers to those and now international law and money movement. I think this thread is one of the most important ones in this forum, but I fear it will be shut down - and with just reason - if it derails too much. Opening this can of worms just might do that. Maybe an own thread discussing these problems in general would be a solution? I'll definitely follow it out of interest. -

bauertschi replied to RadikulRAM's topic in General Discussion
I agree with Frosti, that happens a lot with serverhoppers, happened to me, too. Alone on a server, then 2 ppl on the server, then I die at the nwaf tent-town getting shot with sks and m4 at the same time. I checked the player list all the time and they got me in less than a minute after logging in. After five more minutes I was alone on the server again. Personal opinion: Everyone that logs in military areas deserves death. Of course there are server restarts/crashes, those suck, but logging there is something I hate. -

For bans to really hurt, the game must not be too cheap. Currently it's a little reduced on steam, but I think the game should at least cost €30 and not go on sales. -

Got beans for the tieing of the name in steam. Still se no reason for letting ppl know who killed them. I can only guess, but there should be logs that could be analysed to get that information. So a report system should work without you knowing who killed you. There usually don't get many ppl shot at the exact same position from the exact same position at the exactly same time. On the other hand you can get the name of players you killed by checking their pulse, if you are fast enough. So maybe that's ok. Or...just thinking here, if you get that name, you play in a group, someone else of your group is killed by a different guy, you would know that there are at least two and could give that information to your still living buddies. So....no. There is ESP, some here call it GPS. -

I guess having private hives with more admin options is not really that useful for development at the current state. They will probably be introduced somewhen after feature completion - well that's when I would do it anyways. Maybe earlier depending on the team stuctures at BI and the goals, maybe a group is done before others and is assigned to working on that early. Of course I don't really know, but private hives introduce a complete new range of things that can go wrong and there is no reason that it absolutely must be part of the game with final launch, so... -

Gave you beans, but I disagree about cheaters being a worse problem than in other games. I can only compare it to Battlefield 3 though, but it's worse there. I only have about 50h in BF3, 35 this year, but I recorded the game three times because of cheaters. That was on team deathmatches and only blatantly obvious cases, I often have the impression that an autotrigger/aimbot combination is used. Don't even want to think about ESP in BF3. The problem is that it is more frustrating in DayZ. -

I advise to check out the youtube channels of sacriel42, merino dayz and last but not least WOBO. Those three channels contain a wide array of information that I think is highly useful. Some, not all , matching what you ask for. -
When I play in a group, it's usually the case that someone (usually not me) starts pushing and I follow out of some loyalty thing that does not allow me to let him run into doom all alone. DAMMIT! Now I don't really know where pushing really starts and ends, so...: When I am alone and playing seriously, I either run when someone sees me and my position is bad for immediate shots or I run and change it to some repositioning. If I spot someone on the other hand and it seems like I was not seen, I go into hunting mode and try to get into a good position using the terrain. That may include predicting the future movements of the others. I actually lost ppl that way. The same happens when I hear someone in a town, but I am more partial to faster movements there, never lingering. When things get ugly with ppl standing around corners, well, anything is possible and I try to avoid that. I hate drawn out fights in towns where you see nothing about what is happening behind the next row of houses. I never rush in terms of yoloing a position the enemy is holding and is just waiting for me to pop out my head. Slowly entering buildings with players inside though is something I do. Something I need to get better at. Every time I die doing that I know exactly what I did wrong afterwards...

If you cannot see that the possibility to ask steam "Who used ingamename X on server Y at the time Z?" leads to the same result as knowing the steam name directly, then that is your problem. It's not complicated, just has to be implemented. Heard it before, it's bs from idiots for idiots. Has admittidly it's uses with highly unlikely scenarios, but using it as a blanket argument for discussions - well, as I said before, idiocy. Probably every possible way to cheat is somewhere recorded and shown on youtube or twitch. There is no reason to demand a recording from everyone who claims to have encountered a cheater. And at the current state saying that one has encountered a cheater is certainly not a very outlandish claim. First being called a noob, then stfu multiple times, I say too much bs, my high pile of crap... do you have some anger management problems? Does your momy know how you behave in public? Get your act together or stfu yourself! The older technology here is Quick Sync, introduced with sandy bridge, not included in the pentiums or celerons - had to google that. Every newer version of Intel CPUs brought also a newer version of Quick Sync. Now I wrote the following: The problem you obviously can't grasp is that having a medium range sandy bridge CPU - the first generation with Quick Sync - also means that recording with OBS using x264 is no problem. It is for those with older hardware without those posiibilities. Using x264 with my medium range i5 sandy bridge CPU and 1080p ingame recording downscaling with factor 2 has no noticable impact on DayZ. The CPU is fast enough. And you can even downscale more, if you want. This is a case where the CPU is exactly NOT the bottleneck. NVenc was introduced even later and OBS currently does not even support AMD's VCE. I helped several ppl in their OBS setup and wrote a guide for it and guess what? Every one that had noticable performance impacts in DayZ when recording with x264 did not have hardware that supports Quick Sync or NVenc. Thinking about it, those with AMD GPUs also don't have newer ones with VCE. Yippie! What a glorious solution hardware encoding is, IF it is available. And it simply is not available for most of those with problems using x264. I'm not saying you should use x264, if you can use Quick Sync or NVenc, but that is a different discussion. Now if you feel any further urge to cuss at me or insult me, do so in personal messages. There is no need to spam this thread and I kind of feel like responding here, when you answer like above. -

bauertschi replied to RadikulRAM's topic in General Discussion
There is no "didn't happen rule", you know. While it may be advisable to record DayZ gameplay just to keep the rare funny situation or record cheaters, it is not neccessary. No one can tell me that the flying dude outside the top floor of the school in Krazno was not there and did not shoot me through the window. I record now, but not then. It is also a problem to add recording as an additional strain for the CPU, especially for those with the CPU as a bottleneck. Enforcing unique names on servers is also enough for bans, steam only needs to record who was on which server using what name at a given time. That's not really complicated. Bigger problem: How exactly do you get the player's ingame name? For the future, I don't know what admins will be able to do, but the ingame name, even if it can be changed, is still enough, if the name can be tied to the steam account through a given time and server. It just has to be implemented.
