I have noticed over the last week that my FPS has dropped significantly. I'm using an Intel/ATI system and prior I was getting 30+ everywhere, higher out of town and a smidge lower in towns. I have also noticed that whilst I used to get a constant 99% GPU usage, my GPU is now running in peaks and troughs (avg 50-65%) in line with my FPS. Has there been a minor update that has caused this?

Press 0 on keypad (might be default binding) or double click right mouse button, also space bar to ready weapon.

I get annoyed when I die as a mistake of my own making. Glitching off of buildings pisses me off, but from each death new life is created, new adventures and hardships created/overcome. Get up, dust yourself off and start again.

I have only had one interaction with a human that lasted more than a couple of minutes. Young lad from Birmingham, wouldn't shut up talking tho and being near elektro I had to explain. Anyway he was dicking about and broke his legs up by fire station, had nowt to help him with so I put him out of his misery. Spend most of my time avoiding people but I'm happy to converse of if needs be shoot.

Just to add that the Orange backpack is the better colour to have as it's a natural in the wild nature colour. (according to my wife anyway)

Don't know if still possible but with a compass and pointing it at the sun you could actually (ish) tell the time.

I think the balance is pretty good, but then what do I know lol. New to dayz never played the mod so I don't know if I'm missing owt. Understand about the torch tho, most people would be carrying a smartphone so you could use the LED flash on that along with say intermittent gps and maybe a PTT option too.

I have noticed that the better you gear (clothing) the more abuse you can take from a Z. Try to get everything as close to pristine as poss and use the sewing kit, yea I know, its a wife/mothers chore but learn to use it (hoodies, jeans etc) it may be the difference between being a 1 hit wonder & having it away on your toes after a blow.

Yea its a wrong building thing probably & no I wont server hop as that stinks. Unless I die I'll play on the same server for 2-3hrs. Know about what buildings (and airfield ;) ) I'm just always late to the party :o Generally I only play on 3 servers and rarely venture far from them (all UK) and unless I'm up early/late there is generally 20+ But... my survivor I'm using at the moment has had a successful time looting M4A1 + FNX45 so for the moment im relativly happy :blush: but then I am easily pleased (according to my wife) thanks for the input tho, even @ 47 I'm still learning :)

Is there any correlation between the condition of the food/drink and how much health/energy you recieve? ie: Beans pristine = 10/10 worrn = 8/8 damaged = 6/6 badly damaged = 3/3 ruined = 0/0 or is it anythng other than ruined gives same benefit? Reason I'm asking as I was in a very good state, light green across the board and I ate 5 tins various that were badly damaged and 3 badly damaged drinks (making some room rather than dump it for the next guy/gal) and I still didnt get the full or stuffed msg.

Rare for me is any weapon other than a pistol. Never found a mosin, or any shit like that & with over 80hrs running around it would be nice to be kitted out with something other than poxy pea-shooters lol! Oh but I do have a pristine riders jacket ATM. May swap/sell if price is right ;)

Just want to jump in and say that if possible, overclock your PC. On that Quad C2D (as old as it is) you should be able to get 3ghz without issue as DayZ is CPU intensive at the moment and as long as your memory can take a higer clock rate. I have an old E7600 3ghz C2D overclocked to 3.75ghz on an equally old Asus mobo and an ATI 7770 which again is overclocked to 1100 core & 1300 mem and because my PCI slot is linked to my FSB you can add 20% to the values of the ATI 7770. My game settings are normal to high (still looks pretty tho) and a screen res of 1680x1050 and generally I get about 30-40 FPS everywhere, spikes to 60+ and lows to 25'ish. So even on an older machine can be very reasonable.

Have you tried using 2 Windows user accounts both with admin rights?

I'm usually on the receiving end of these situations, only once did I run into a guy at the NWAF who wasn't a total prick, we exchanged a few words, offered each other a few bits and bob's and went our separate ways. If only more people were like minded in 1 on 1 encounters.

For personal stats I'd like to see Z kills, player kills (if that's your thing, not mine tho) survival time and distance travelled. But no league tables unless your in a clan and that would be server/clan specific and shared amongst your members.

You'll find me playing a couple of times a week -=ALFERRET=- Was big into MOH & a clan member for a few years, still load up Omaha once in a while. Was speaking to a mate a couple of years ago saying how cool it would be if we had a zombie game based on fire example far cry, open map etc. Low an behold DayZ is now with us. Probably the best game I have ever had the pleasure of playing. Long may it continue.

After about 8hrs with my current char I have finally got to grips with dealing with Z's using the fire axe, im quite happy dealing with 4-5 at a time now. Spawing within 20ft of me while im being a noob and chowing down in an outside location does make the old chocolate starfish pucker a bit tho :blush: While out on my travels this afternoon I came across/they found me in the middle of the woods miles from anywhere, all of a sudden as im running around i'd hear something, glance back an there would be 2 or more either right on my back or running a hell of a lot faster than I could up hill. I was under the impression that the were only within towns/villages and the close local not in the middle of the woods.

My 2c's worth, I have really enjoyed this game for the last 4 weeks. I play solo and take my chances and generally get 2+ hrs gameplay (yes I'm a noob) but since the last update things are extremely dire to say the least. Z's are more prolific, harder and faster than I can generally deal with. It takes the fun out of the game,I understand that some find this a challenge and rise to it and others don't. What bugs me is that their intelligence, hearing and sight have increased exponentially. It needs to be toned down a little, longer spawn time for zombies. Other than that all is good, a game like this has been a long time coming and now it's here it's gotta be right for all levels of gamer, if that means having tiered servers (that you can't hop between with equipment) then that'll be great, hard-core gets their own zombie fest, mid level etc etc.
