    Sea Water Still

It's a common misconception that there is no easy way to make sea water drinkable. All you need to know is some basic physics. water evaporates, salt does not. I think it would be neat if players could collect supplies to make Sea water stills. There are a bunch of different designs, but here are the versions I think would be cool to see in Dayz. Version 1: Needs = fire-proof container, pipe, empty tin can, fire, maybe a toolbox. Salt water is put in the fire-proof container. A pipe is in the top of the container. A fire is then lit under the container. The water will evaporate and then condense in the pipe. The now clean water collects in the tin can. Here's an example of a Version 1 still. Version 2. Needs = Entrenching tool, Large sheet of plastic, rocks, 2 tin cans. First a hole is dug. Then an empty tin can is placed in the center of the hole. A tin can full of salt water is placed away from the center of the hole. Now the plastic sheet is placed on top of the hole. Rocks are used to keep the sheet in place. Then a rock is placed in the center of the sheet (above the empty can). Heat from the sun will cause the water in both cans (assuming water has already collected in the empty one) but the shape of the plastic will cause the clean water to keep collecting in the can in the center. This method requires no fire, but is slow and won't work at night. You should know I have no idea if this one actual works. Here's an example of a Version 2 still. So what do you think?

    Namalsk Alien Stories

I thought they were aliens that happened to be called bloodsuckers.
  3. I want to hear some stories about your encounters with the aliens on Namalsk. Here is Mine. I spawned near the Nitija Army Base and of course I decide to raid it. Everything goes smoothly and I get some gear and an AK with a bunch of ammo. I leave the base and look at my map, then I notice a tunnel entrance and decide it would be fun to check out. I decide I'll stop at the Tara Marsh and Brensk Railway Station along the way. I find nothing useful at the marsh an continue to the railway station. I decide that crawling through a hole in the wall would be the best idea and crouch through the forest occasionally stopping to be sure there are no zombies hiding behind the trees. Shortly after arriving at the hole 2 zombies crawl out from under it, and I promptly shoot them in the head. Before I can go prone in order to take advantage of the breach in the wall and ransack the railway station, I am attacked from behind. My first though was "Oh great, there was a zombie I couldn't see". I turn around prepared to shoot this nuisance, but what I see is not a typical foe. I catch only a glimpse of the unearthly terror that was swiping at my back before I scream "HOLY JESUS BASKET TITS" (fun fact: I scream random words when I am scared). Before I get a good look at this beast it swipes me toward the Brensk Bridge, as if to say "Go back the way you came"! Then I experience the fight or flight response, something I have not experienced in a long time. I decide to run like an Arab child chasing a bottle of water tied to the end of a jeep. My plan is to lose this thing in the woods. As I flee I look behind myself to get a good look at the pursuing predator. It had arms and legs of pure muscle, the torso of a steroid addicted Sasquatch, claws reminiscent of a Tyrannosaurus, and a head that looks like it was taken from a dumpster behind the sushi joint. Then I remember someone in Takistan mentioning aliens in one of the maps, and then I realized what was chasing me. The guy in Takistan forgot to mention that the alien has a cloaking device, and he uses it about every 3 seconds. I change my plan and unload 3 AK magazines on him, but he shrugs it off like I only gave him a stern talking to. In a total of only 3 or 4 strikes the alien knocks almost all of my blood from my body. Realizing my imminent defeat I retreat to the Brensk Bridge for my last stand. I wait, but can't see anything. I assume the alien is merely using his cloaker again. I wait, wait, and wait some more, but nothing happens. It seems my alien antagonist has abandoned the battle. I don't question why and disconnect. I would later rejoin the server with my friend Charter (Jeremy) to finish what the aliens started. We wound up killing 3 aliens before we decided to stop. We learned 2 things about the aliens. 1: Aliens seem to only spawn on you when you enter certain areas. 2: Aliens are allergic to PKMs. I also took some pictures of one of them. TL:DR: I got the shit scared/beat out of me by an alien, killed 3 of them with my friend Jeremy, learned aliens seem to only spawn on you when you enter certain areas, and I got some pics.
  4. This is kind of a good idea. I don't think you should just instantly be covered in blood, or that it should make looting more difficult, however getting a small amount of blood on you after you loot a corpse does make sense.

    Disconnecting to avoid death

This stuck in game thing seems like a bad idea. If I have to go to the bathroom while being chased by a horde my only options will be to piss myself or die.

    Praise for 1.7.1.5

Ever since I switched to 1.7.1.5 I've been having this Problem. Every time I join a server, 1 of 2 things happens. 1: I get stuck on the loading screen. 2: I spawn about 3000m outside the map while some AI keeps yelling at me to regroup.

    The Paths We Choose.

I'm not a murderer. I help when I can, live while I can, and die when someone, or something, decides I've lived long enough. The latter usually happens before the former. But why would I bother helping people when I'm sure my payment will be a bullet to the head? I do not help for bullshit moral reasons, nor so that I may feel superior to those who chose to walk the opposite path. I help because I see no point in not helping. Why would I kill and horde to benefit myself? So that I may live a little longer in a world full of murder and selfishness? Is my life is somehow more valuable than that of anyone else? No. In short, I would rather burn out in a pool of blood with an empty backpack next to my good friend, than fade away in some forest waiting for some poor bastard to step in front of my cross-hairs, just so my dim flame can stay lit a bit longer. We all have choices to make. All we can do is weigh the options and act.

    Spawning Problems

So I'm trying to set up a server for me and my friends using TA2DST and I have a problem. Everything works fine for my friend, but when I spawn in all I have is 1 painkiller, 1 bandage, and the backpack. I also can't see any loot or zombies until I get close to my friend. I also cant see the debug monitor, and all the thirst, hunger, visibility, ect, displays never change. Please help! Thanks.
