I like it a lot... i was getting errors last night, but must have been server side. Its working for me now(i was launching through spirited machines arma 2 launcher last night dayz commander this mornin... so maybe not?) I love the sound and look o the place... reminds me o freezing my arse off in a shell scrap in waiouru here in NZ in my younger days. I like the scarcity o food(sorta bottle necks supply a bit).. i did find a goat... limited resources o course means greater competition for the said resources... all good by me. I think the relative abundance o military is consistent with the environment personally. Im loving it, thanks Sumrak, awesome work mate.

Utes is the dayz deathmatch map, there are the three barracks on opposite side o airfield to control tower, and two the same side as control tower. and one on its own on a ocean side hill... these are your best bets for guns... also best bets for being sniped... its a harsh map man

if its saying "you cannot play edit this mission" ... it either you havnt indstalled dayz/and or you havnt enabled the mod in yer start up parameters. Download dayz commander, use the install update tab, to get dayz installed and up to date, and launch through that... if yer just quit out of the server forum(after launching by joining a game) you can just user the gamespy browser, so yah dont limit yer servers.

you found a shelled hospitial.. notice the scorch marks and stuff on em, they dont spawn stuff... there are a few hospitals in fallujah, go to the big aerial, and head north about 800m, then west a few hundred more(there is a burnt one closer than that to the north o big aerial).. in that general area(from the NW corner o the big scrap yard, head NW you cant miss it)... there is another one a few kms to the east. and i think some o the ones by the river are ok? i never checked em out

Yes.. but change horde o Z's, for pack o rabid mutant zombie hounds.. Howling etc, maybe able to track the path o a recent player.. but yea i think it is a good idea... but i think dogs would be more scary in the open than Z's... (and Z cows/sheep/goats... would just be silly.. but on a side note i saw a cow once IRL with a mix o grass staggers and acidosis... and she acted like a Z.. was eating holes into the ground, eating dirt.. wouldnt notice yah till yah gave her a shove, then she would attack yah in slow motion... was funny shit at the time.. just reminded me o it) Or the Z's need steriods, that would also be acceptable

cool video mate, yah got arced up by a MG.. Love the way the tracers look in this game on the receiving, and giving ends. Good stuff. :thumbsup:

ive killed lots o... i mean ive defended myself against lots o bandits through windows in the mod... im sure it would be the same in the standalone

Its a bug, dropping and picking it up, or switching to side arm and back fixes it... As the other dudes have said

I stopped using tents after setting up a few camps. And finding it detracts from my enjoyment o the game. (they eat gear, and breed gear) i like finding stuff, o yes i do.. and when i know where the stuff is without me needing to look, it detracts from my joy. :( but ive found spamming the save tent function, increases the chances o them saving correctly. Also, beware... tents can bite! Ive had them trap me, i somehow managed to set them on top o myself! Its happened a lot.. and it can kill you! And break your bones... they are temperamental lil beasties for sure :o

looks great, cant wait.. i notice in the change log there are broken NVGs broken radio added.. whats the deal here? do you need two to repair and get a working set, or do they work, with faults? im sure ill find out soon enough if no one knows. I dunno about the blood sucker idea.. I like stuff to be physically possible. (light bending to achieve invisibility seems out there) I have no issues with like rockets Z's.. theyre infected, with a disease, and still require their organs/ to transmit oxygen/blood through their bodies.. none o this need to kill brains to kill, because theyre magic stuff... But if say they had been infected by like a reverse style retro virus, thats inprinting its own DNA into its victims, resulting in a different species being born(i am legend/ resident evil) it seems plausible that a new species could be born, and the longer theyre infected the greater the mutation. (i loved the vampire zombies from i am legend) Thats just my opinion, ill still play it regardless...

Lookin good.... i see lathes.. big ones, not like my toy lathe... big enough to rebore a barrel even. If there was power... who knows eh. either way lookin good guys.

yah can just break down DMR mags to 4xm24 mag's.. so ask for dmr mags, they use less space.

yea, ive respawned after being killed with my kit before.

Im annoyed there arnt packs of rabid zombie dogs roaming the wilderness, zombies do swim.. but it does kinda stand to reason that Zombies would be where the people were. IMHO

I would have blown him away... if it was a well equipped survivor.. i would have blown him away.. i leave fresh spawns/ or poorly equipped, but the amount o times ive been shot in the face by friendlies, leads me to shoot first... and hopefully last as well ;) EVERYONE is friendly when yah have the drop on em.

Yea ive been banned from one, for no reason known to me... i have suspicion its cause i maybe killed an admin? I dunno really.

You can commit suicide... by pressing esc when the creating/waiting for to create character screen is up, the waiting for the game to load, and the respawn button wont be greyed out ;)

PMC is private military company, a LITE version should be included with the beta's.. this is not the first time ive seen people posting this issue.. and im not sure if a fix was found (it should be nothing more than correctly installing the beta i would think, unless you need to go back and find the particular one that it came in... but it should be present in the later versions? I did post a link to it on another thread once, its findable through google) But if this dosnt fix the issue, i would try maybe deleting the registry keys, then re starting both games (arma and OA ) individually(as administrator, right click on .exe etc)... ive had this fix other bugs from corrupted registry entries, and a reinstall wont fix this without deleting registry keys first. you cant play vanilla dayz if another mod is running/enabled.. whatever the word is im looking for... so how are you launching? what other fix have you tried?

We wouldn't let fuel regenerate, because it would be terribly unrealistic, Finding gear is not tedious, its what makes these kinda games... IRL rural fuels, are mostly gravity fed.. hand fuel pumps are not rare, any old diaphragm pump will pump fuel. Hell all you need is a hose, and gravity will move fuel (siphon) So this stuff isnt unrealistic.. do you understand the difference? Originally back in the 1.5 era dayz before rocket was called away for standalone, he was talking of bringing in generators to run fuel stations and the like. I like this actually, yea, make it a resource to be seized control of in a server.. limit its availability. This could be cool.

Yea, its just one o those lil sayings people say when theyre raging, and cant think o anything clever to say. This game would be as boring as mario without the PvP.. occasionally Z's get me, but truth is if yah didnt have to worry about the PvP, not making undue noise, or bringing attention to yerself, Death would be a rarity ( Lets face it, you would have to be either blind/deaf or have suffered serious head trauma at some point in yer past to not figure out how to beat the Z's) Im with the OP... and the people who think playing pure PvE dayz would be fun, would probably be kept entertained for hours with a sheet o bubble wrap, so dont expect to much from this thread ;)

Yah may have a point, have you may be considered contacting the vanilla/rocket dayz peeps about working the maps/ hives in with them? In direct competition with vilayer? i do play on the vilayer servers, because i live in new zealand, and with the ease they set up servers, it means that locals here rent them, and set the ping kicks to allow for us southern hemisphere peeps to play.. As a general rule, i WILL be kicked from the true private ones. But if you were able to set up these maps through Rockets Hives, and have international servers like vanilla dayz, running of a hive, it will be much more attractive to the international market due to the fact we would have true local servers pinging under 100 (the vilayers are all US (maybe europe as well?)
