Don't get attached to your gear when the game is still alpha. You would have lost that stuff anyway because of an eventual wipe or certainly when beta hits stable.

Many will want to buy Dayz when "super mods" come out, catering specifically to pvp or pve needs. Even if the base game keeps a "shaky" reputation I think what happens to the game after release will reach a new player base and possibly a great reputation for Dayz as a "platform".

I hope you report these dupers and server kickers...

In 3rd person we see a lens flare. In my personal opinion this is annoying and unrealistic. One could argue that in 3rd person view it is like looking at yourself through a camera and that's why there is a lens flare but I think it is corny and a relic from much earlier games when it was still "cool" that we could render these effects. For me, I am playing a game and am not starring in some blockbuster movie so I would be happy to get rid off it. Or at least add an option to turn it on or off in graphics settings. What's your opinion, lens flare on or off? Edit: added "make on/off option" to the poll.

Does it have gas, a spark plug, a battery, is it maybe damaged or even ruined?

Those temps seem fine. Hard to give you more tips. Maybe some process is freezing your SSD temporarily or fills your RAM? Does it happen when you turn off shadowplay? Do you also constantly record the games that do not freeze? Could it be a pagefile that gets full because of recording? I am stretching here.

Those fans not ramping up could be the actual problem :p Of course, things can change in a system and temps that were before low could now be high because of faulty fans, old thermal paste, dust build up in heat sinks, bad cable mangement. Also take a look at processes running in the background, CPU usage, RAM usage (does it get to 100%). Maybe gives us your system specs?

No I don't have this issue. Could be overheating. Do you monitor the heat of your CPU and GPU? CPUID HWMonitor is a good program for monitoring your system.

I never used an ice axe in that way, will try it. Number of slots don't really matter to me because I carry the machete on my shoulder. Advantage of a machete may be you can still cut sticks with it for fire, splints and so on.

Machete because you can get it out in a split second without slowing you down like an axe. Sure takes a few more hits to kill an infected.

Let me be the first to say what you should already know: alpha and never get attached to your gear.

Before we rule out the computer I think we should know the temperatures of the CPU and GPU at the moment of freezing. Even if the hardware is new and the CPU is liquid cooled this does not mean the cooling is working well (bios settings, software settings or faulty fans / pump). Also the CPU is overclocked and could become unstable under certain conditions if it doesn't have optimal voltage settings.If TS has little knowledge about computers I wonder who OC'ed the CPU for him? And his or her knowledge about overclocking? Maybe TS did it himself? The problem could be caused by overheating / thermal throttling. Free software that reads all sensors in your system is for instance CPUID HWMonitor: Run it in the background and check the (maximum) temps: https://www.cpuid.com/softwares/hwmonitor.html

0.62 Found the truck after a server restart right where I left it and in the same orientation. As I start the truck it wants to re-position itself as they usually do, probably hitting the shed and flipping over. After that nothing I could do with it, could not see or salvage the truck inventory, couldn't destroy the truck with matches. This is why I usually don't bother with vehicles, they always end up being more of a headache than an aid to gameplay.

I have this outfit to signal to players I am friendly and in no way a "military style" player considering I stand out like a soar thumb in any environment. Still looking for a red backpack and red sneakers :) Would you interpret me as friendly or maybe overconfident :P?

With hindsight I guess I agree with all of you. The clothing is so "obvious" it inspires mistrust rather than friendliness. I normally don't use any type of mask but found the bandana and used it for the pic. I do usually wear lumberjack shirts and civilian headgear but wanted to try something new. I did meet one player in the game so far with the red outfit and he ran away :)

Usually low pop and PVE only, but don't really matter for me, I jog on any server basically.
