Down for maintenance, like every wednesday. How can all you guys miss the message about this which I see regularly in the servers while playing?

It's a pity full camo gear and ballistic helmet are associated with KOS and bandits, though I understand why. I wear full camo and helmet but for the sole purpose to give me a better chance to NOT get into fights by blending in more and have maximum gear carrying possibilities. Once my current character dies I will do a run in civilian clothing and see how that works out. No I would not shoot OP on sight just because I try to not shoot anybody on sight, done it once and it felt like a crime :)

Had that happen yesterday in the piano house on second floor with a mosin and finally gave up looking for it. After some looting I decided to check the house again and there was the mosin right where I dropped it. I know sometimes it takes a little while for dropped items to show up but this took at least 5 minutes before it showed again, I also thought it dropped through the floor in an inaccessible space.

If there is a train there should also be a way to blow up the tracks (so it has to be repaired-sniper/attack danger) or a way to block the tracks / derail the train with for instance tree trunks.

If you can set dpi on your mouse try experimenting with a lower dpi setting, worked for me, I have no mouse issues atm.

How do you make the mosin in such camo? Is it one you find or is there a way to craft it?

I wouldn't know how to answer your question but: this happened to me also in the beginning and the lesson is simply that you must not leave the game when you are not 100% sure you're safe. So get away from populated (players and zeds) areas, get in a tree or bush, WAIT at least 30 seconds to be sure no zombie is coming your way and maybe then alt-tab out of the game.

I've had a real hard time finding sks ammo lately and didn't see any speedloading clip. I am finding normal amount of M4 and ammo for it but couldn't find any scope for it, no red dot nor ACOG. I am finding many bipods, mosin compensators, weaponlights and so on.

Thx for the vid because it is always nice to see another persons play style but you seem to look for trouble every time... Keeping your fists up is a bad way to communicate "I'm friendly"...

I did this the other day because I was curious but was not able to pick up any transmission on any frequency even within 50 meters from the tower. Battery was charged, radio was on and damage state was worn is I feel I should have picked it up? Or is the transmission maybe not continuous? I have tried for about 15 minutes.

I left a note once in my back pack for my future killer. Not sure if he read it. I never pick up notes to check but will from now on...if I have the time...

In my experience even the zeds in towns are manageable as long as you don't fire guns (and have a good melee weapon), you just have to run a little more and longer and looking over your shoulder got more important :) The hoe will kill a zombie with two strikes.

Many people here seem to use the default controls? First thing I do in any game is change controls to my liking and habit. Never used wasd in any game, I hate it. I always use rmb for walking for instance. Basic controls are all in my mouse keeping my left clear for keyboard controls and smoking and drinking :)

Is this on stable or experimental servers? On stable I don't have this issue but on experimental I do.

ABOUT EXPERIMENTAL SERVERS: I'v been starting to play on experimental but every time I login again my previous character is wiped? Happened three times in a row now and every time I respawn near svetlojarsk (which is a nice spawnpoint but seems to be new, never spawned there on stable)

I had the same experiences when I was overclocking my videocard, so if you don't have an overclocked card I agree with the person who said it's probably a temperature issue. The reason other games don't cause crashes may have to do with they are not as demanding as DAYZ. You should run some monitoring software as was suggested to see to what temps your GPU reaches.

I died twice today because of rubber banding... Both times I was on top of a building...and suddenly in mid air falling to my death. Is this pure a server / game engine problem or can it be something on my side? To be quite honest, I'm thinking about taking a break from playing for a while after about 150 hours of playing for several reasons: 1: what drew me into this game was the survival aspect and potential to interact / coop in a nice way with other players. I know I could join a group but I was hoping for gamers who are like minded and can form alliances on the spot But since this is Alpha and the survival aspect is far from completion I am not getting enough satisfaction. (yes, was to be expected because of alpha stage) 2: just like with any other online game it is being dominated by children and ass holes that just want to be in a pvp shooting game. I have strong doubts the devs will be able to solve this problem. 3: constantly dying because of rubber banding, KOS and lag is getting old fast. I like the looting aspect of the game and don't mind doing it but constantly dying for stupid reasons is getting annoying. Am I not skilled enough to survive in this virtual world? Probably. Is it a world that motivates me to want to survive, probably not. I can hold my own in shooting games but that is not what I am looking for in DAYZ. Could well be a mistake in my expectations. 4: many on this forum are, well, smart ass kids and wankers who think they are funny and have nothing constructive to offer. Obviously some forum members and players ARE the right stuff so kudos to them! So I should probably take a break for now and come back after some updates that, hopefully, somehow counteract the kiddos and selfish assholes. This game is either not for me or it is still too early to tell. I am hoping for the latter because I always wanted a good survival type game.
