    .62 Helicopter Crashes

Yup, I found a completely empty crash site the other day, nothing there, I am sure it was not looted by someone else. Sometimes some clothes and ammo but that's it, can't remember last time I found a weapon.
  2. Well no, you are assuming without knowing me. I play mostly on a PVE server where PVP is not allowed except for when maybe someone steals from your camp. So I spend my days building camps, looking for cars, collecting gear, meeting up with other players, exploring the map, fishing, farming, hunting and so on. Although I do look for military gear I also play a lot with civilian clothes and weapons. No we don't role play we just try to stay away from KOS and PVP. In 1600+ hours I killed maybe 10 players.
  3. Just to clarify: I don't mind first time posters, I mind first time posters who come here to rant about game development without obviously having the fist clue about the development goals and time-line of the game. I also don't mind pvp players but I do mind pvp players who try to the force the game into a pure pvp direction which was never intended by the devs. For the rest: see this:
  4. I read your text for about 30% and then decided to not spend more time on an uninformed first time poster who thinks the game was only meant for pvp.

    Error Creating Enfusion Engine?!?

What are you talking about? I never discriminated against you, I never said you know nothing about computers and I never called you stupid nor anything sexist. Try saying thanks next time when someone tries to help you, even if the help does not solve your problem, you will experience that communication becomes much more pleasant and constructive.

    Error Creating Enfusion Engine?!?

Wow, you don't thank anyone for trying to help you and actually display an "attitude", good luck with your problem Laura, pretty sure it's between the chair and the keyboard...

    Error Creating Enfusion Engine?!?

Are you starting the game from your desktop or using steam? Try that last option if you don't already. Get directx 12 (shouldn't make much difference but who knows) run dxdiag on your pc and see if it reports any problems (just type it in windows search) verify all game files with steam
  8. When did I say we could not offer critique or game suggestions? It's just the bitching and moaning about the development timeline I am responding to.
  9. What I am saying is: let them do their job, don't be impatient at this stage and after years of anticipation. It's just a game which we did not pay that much for and many of us already had their moneys worth (I did). Once the game is done we can judge the end-result. Maybe the devs will be praised, maybe they will be scorned, time will tell. This game can really only be judged when the platform they are building is robust and the modding community have shown their creativity in catering to all possible needs and play styles. The latter will take probably take another year or two after final release. You signed up for a place on the bus and now you just have to ride it until the end. The destination will reveal itself in due time, meanwhile enjoy the trip. If you expect something you may get disappointed, keep an open mind and you may be surprised by what you get.
  10. A wise man once said: "disappointment is created by expectations".
  11. You seem to be at a real rampage against apples, considering I read several appeals from you. But keep in mind that DAYS SA is a platform on which different players find different ways to play the game. Being a bandit, a lone wolf, a survivor, a hunter, an explorer and maybe even someone looking for his lost wife and child. Point being, if you think apples make the game too easy for you, you can easily make a rule for yourself: "don't pick apples". In the mean time you should wait for 1.0 and after that I am quite sure there will be modded servers that make survival really hard or maybe even almost impossible.

BETA Status Report - November 28

Great report, very nice it is again open, honest and direct. I really wished bikes / motorbikes would come sooner but ofcourse I can only agree the most important elements of the game should be made robust first. I wonder, the report speaks says several times the game MUST reach 1.0 before the end of 2018. Why is this? Is it a goal you made for yourselves to "finally" finish the game. Or maybe Bohemia "ordering" that the game (and the dev resources) should become available for other titles in 2019? Or maybe the team is just getting bored with it :) Anyway, I trust 2018 will be a very interesting year where we will see what DAYZ finally became and what modders are going to do with this platform. Can't wait to see it all unfold. Carry on!

Starting off with a full stomach

I think before you come to the conclusion the current system is too hard you should first be sure you actually know all ins and outs of the game, I don't say that in an unfriendly way. You spawn, you make a stone knife immediately. Exposure problem solved because now you can chop sticks, and a fire kit, if necessary using your t-shirt to craft a fireplace. After warming up and it should still be raining you simply sprint all the time to keep temps up and make a fire again when necessary. In the mean time chances are you found some clothing or even a raincoat. Starvation is not necessary as there are apple trees everywhere, chickens to be hunted and cooked. Wells are usually close by and in case of emergency you can drink out of a pond. This strategy combined will almost always ensure you survive long enough to find some cans of food or dry food like powdered milk, rice or serial. When I die shortly after I spawned its never due to starvation, dehydration or exposure but rather wolves or players.

    Problem

It will only use 64 bit if your CPU / OS are 64 bit I would assume. And that should be a good thing because it's a faster architecture and allows you to use more than a total of 4 GB of memory (that is RAM and VRAM combined). If you have a 64 bit CPU but a 32 bit OS I would recommend you change to a 64 bit OS because you will benefit from it.

    Low FPS recently

I suspect, as was mentioned, possibly the windows 10 fall creators update is causing problems. I experience them myself, not so much in DAYZ (although I do think I used to get some better fps than currently, which are way higher than yours) but I have all kinds of issues with several games, like crashing and even my system restarting spontaneously - no not due to high temps or bad PSU). This all started with the update. I am also under the impression the last two NVIDIA drivers are not very good. It is probably too late to rollback your windows to a state before the update but you could try some older NVIDIA drivers and see if that makes a difference. I am actually considering to go back to windows 7 myself (is supported until 2020) and at a later date give 10 another go when hopefully these kinds of issues are solved. My system specs are in my signature (all important parts are new since august 2017).

    The P-38/P-51

As it is now I simply craft a stone knife, it lasts a long time and when you open cans with it you don't spill too much food. Also, I think US military stuff should be kept to a minimum. I would much rather see the devs implement a pocket knife (a la Swiss Army Knife) which can perform multiple roles including opening cans, but also car repairs, weapon repairs, cutting stuff, crafting stuff and so on. I am sure those are used by Russians all the time like everywhere else. Sure, they can make them scarce so you really value it as a price item. (true value in the game being it takes up only one slot but replaces a knife, can opener, screwdriver, weapon repair kit and maybe even the lock picking tool) Just thinking out loud.

For the Mule in all of us

Meh, this is what vehicles are for. Having to haul a Wheelbarrow, Wagon, Hand Cart, or even just a plywood/metal sheet to be used as a stretcher would still have to be quite tiring, make you slow and vulnerable.

    LOOT RATE (FOOD-DRINK-WEAPON-AMMO)

I never have a problem to find enough food to keep me energized and healthy. Not saying food is abundant but there is enough to be found and, as already said, apples are always available.

    Zombies

Even if I agree the infected are not very good at the moment I seriously can't remember exactly when was the last time I got killed by one. They are easy to kill and to dodge. If you want zero chance of damage you get a pistol or assault rifle with a suppressor, problem solved. Oh and can you please make future first posts a bit more easy to read?
  20. Ah good tip, I didn't know that.
  21. Yes, matchbox in hand, approach car and it will give you the option to destroy it (doesn't seem to work with buses).
  22. nl

    When will gameplay be introduced?

Have the patience to wait for the final product before you rate the game... The infected will change, player mechanics will change including stamina, there will be more wild (dangerous) animals, weather model will be improved and last but not least: modding will change the game to more "extreme" variants, be it pve or pvp, high loot, low loot and so on. 0.63 should give some indication of how the final product will play but even then there will be more added features until 1.0

    Too loud wind.

I agree mostly, and sometimes it sounds more like a jet plane than wind... Especially around the edges of the map at the debug fields. Also even with strong winds the trees bend way too much and seem to be made of rubber. But I assume this will be fixed in the future, maybe already in beta.

    v3s weirdest thing ever ...

A truck should be able to reach about 50+ kmh. Thing is that gears 1,2,3 are very short, shift to 4 at about 20 kmh, speed will drop a little and then pick up. It also seems a bad idea to down shift when on an incline, better to just keep rolling in gear. When the tires are (badly) damaged the truck will become just about undriveable. Grip on inclines also diminishes with bad tires.

    v3s weirdest thing ever ...

Most likely tour wheels are damaged, take them off and try to repair them or find new ones. Before you start to bitch a game first make sure you understand all the mechanics.
