Some weeks ago I posted in the gallery about a tourist trip visiting all the sights or easter eggs in the game as a way to pass the time in stable. http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/188817-a-touristic-day-in-chernarus/ Since the current version is out for a while now, my character(s) is fully geared and I'm usually not interested in PvP and am cured of trying to be a hero I was thinking what I could do next in the game since it is impossible for me at the moment to play in experimental due to rubberbanding, game crashes and disconnecting sessions. So I decided to prepare my stable toon for the upcoming update. This causes some decisions to be made because being able to cook, fish, make fire and skin animals can require quite some inventory space for stuff we didn't need until the latest update. Stuff like knifes, sticks, paper, matches (fire kit), hooks, worms, pots, pans, gas cartridges, burners and so on all take up a lot of space. As long as we have no persistent storage all has to be carried on your person. So I decided I can do with a max of 3 food cans, 2 canteens, no sodas (will look for ponds and wells more often). I ditched my red dot scope, dumped a magazine (now have 2x60 round stanags) dumped some ammo (not Pvp'ing anyway). I am also thinking about dumping my FNX pistol, this will free up a lot of space because I have 4 mags and some spare ammo. If I also ditch my ammo box and just have the 120 bullets in my mags for the M4 and 2x60 rounds I free up a lot of slots by losing the FNX and extra ammo / mags. Great thing about the update I think it makes you think more about what to carry and, just as important, what not to carry. I used to only use the improvised backpack but now use the hunter pack again to get some more room.

Hard to tell if you have no video. But I'd say lag or maybe lack (of skills).

So I am in Dolina and rubberbanding ender me up in the policestation in the room that is boarded up on the 2nd floor...so no way out. I tried to rejoin a few times and run through the walls before all the textures load but no luck. I also just managed to get healthy status so it's gonna take a long time to die of hunger and thirst. Wow it's amazing, experimental is almost unplayable. If I don't have a session lost there is mega rubberbanding resulting in that I ended it up in the boarded room in a policestation with no way of getting out. If there is no rubberbanding the game freezes / crashes. The dev's have a lot of work to do before they can push this update to stable.

I didn't play the new experimental until today. I get constant "session lost" after about 45 minutes of play and afterwards I have a character reset EVERY time, which makes it pointless to play. Quickly disconnecting and trying a different server doesn't help. Annoying, how can I test the new features if I don't get the time to assemble the required gear?

edit: never mind, I put my response in the experimental thread, where it belongs.

In 300+ hours I never experienced that, not even in populated servers.

Okay, a more serious answer than my previous one. I think my first kill happened after about 100 hours of playing, also on Balota airfield on iirc a 17 player server. I had been avoiding other players because I had no confidence in using the weapons in this game and I was afraid of losing my gear after having died a few times at the hands of others. But I felt like a pussy and decided to no longer avoid other players and get some combat experience in this game. I went to Balota and no one seemed to be there. I went to the air traffic tower and suddenly heard someone eating and I decided to not run away from the confrontation. I took out my Magnum revolver (I had no primary) and moved up the stairs slowly. I saw a fully geared player in military camo and a M4. He had his back to me and was still eating. I should have talked to him but I panicked when he started to turn around and I shot all 6 bullets at him. I didn't immediately see him die so I booked it out of there, sure that I missed and that he would pursuit and kill me. I ran into the woods to the North and calmed down a little and reloaded my revolver. I didn't see any one so after about 5 minutes I decided to return to the tower. And there lay my first victim. Al of his gear was ruined except the M4 and some ammo so I took it, then I hastily left the airfield afraid the gunshots would draw in other players. I had an adrenaline rush for 10 minutes after this but felt bad about my cowardly way of shooting him without warning, more or less in the back. It's true what they say though, the first is the hardest.

No worries, life will spawn me a new one in due time.

My first kill happened after about playing for nine hours. My girlfriend rushed into the room and started yelling that I had to go to bed. So I strangled here and continued playing.

This has been discussed before. I would like to see it go but keep in mind that some people will simply put a dot on their screen themselves. Their should still be a system to easily point a loot to identify and pick up.

I presume it is probably useless but you could try to make a bug report about this or maybe someone else already did and you can add your info and/or vote the issue up. My advice to you would be to keep factual in the report and offer cooperation (like maybe giving access to your computer or whatever). (see bug report section in forum) Also I wonder if IP spoofing could be part of the problem or maybe steam account hacking? (I'm no computer expert).

I am inclined to believe you, it's always hard to tell on the internet if someone is truthful or not. But I've been accused of cheating in the past (not this game) when I was NOT (I hate cheaters) and know how frustrating it can be to be accused of something you didn't do. If you (and others who posted on this forum) are wrongly banned that is a serious issue that could also happen to me and others. In my opinion BI and/or the developers of DAYZ SA should investigate some cases with BE in cooperation with banned players to find out if the ban was legit or not.

Concerning armour on regular cars I think we should have a "force to hold on to car" option so we can force bambis to hold on to the outside of the car and thus using them as bullet stoppers.

Lol, if you have been here a while you constantly see the same topics coming up, interval of about 2 weeks. But yeah, let's discuss the duct tape scope again and the accuracy (or lack off) of the M4, SKS and mosin in the game compared to real life.

All fair enough, I guess it all comes down to personal preference.

Why re-create the mod? The SA gives the opportunity to do something else than what already has been done. Play the mod if you want to play the mod...
