  1. Okay thanks. Earlier today I removed all my launch parameters and restored my original .cfg files. Game seemed to run the same. However, I had a feeling when I put in the CPU, GPU, RAM and VRAM back in launch parameters I was gaining a slight increase in fps, but only about 4 or so. Maybe it was just suggestion, placebo effect. If it does no good, it also seems to do no harm in my setup.
  2. lol, like emuthreat said above ^^^
  3. Does this mean the vid won't show up after the issue is fixed? Sorry if it was common knowledge that tactical bacon exists, I would have never guessed since it seems so over the top... I'd like to try it one day, but 20 dollars for a can is a bit expensive.

    can't see linked vids?

Since today I am not able to see any embedded vids (like in gallery) on the forum any more? I have no problems on other sites. Anyone else have this problem?
  5. Would it be nice if we could create a text file listing all items in our current inventory? Players already share their gear but an itemized list we could copy/paste could complement that. Shouldn't be too hard since the data is already there and only needs an output function?
  6. Do you have a link to that statement?

NWAF, broken leg, please help :(

Question that remains is: why doesn't OP get his priorities right BEFORE going to a high risk area? Breaking a leg can happen anywhere but NWAF has a high risk of giving you at least a flesh wound. Should always have rags and something to cut branches with on you before planning any risky loot run.
  8. Lower your settings in game (maybe you can make a screenshot of your graphoc setting in the game) and also make sure you have no other processes running when you play Dayz. And I think all of us have that error message at the moment, I do anyway.
  9. I used their services a long time ago but made contact through their own website, you will get a faster response there. I am not sure however if they are still active? It has become a lot easier to self medicate in the last few builds.
  10. Maintenance is simply still running to push 0.58 to stable, so all stable servers are still down.
  11. Okay, well I parked myself in the debug fields so I'm curious what happens when I log back in :P
  12. Well, made a trek today from A to B and didn't find a single camp, barrel or truck (and met only 1 player whom I avoided)
  13. Did anyone try to set up a tent in the debug fields, behind a hill so below the visible horizon? Does persistence work in the debug fields?
  14. Malfunctions should mostly be in the regulator which is probably the most important and complex part of scuba gear. I like the idea and wouldn't mind if it was implemented but within the Chernarus universe it is highly unlikely you would find much scuba gear. How many people in a economically challenged rural area would have diving equipment (expensive)? I can imagine there would be are 2 or 3 diving schools along the coast, also for tourists.
  15. I think OP should join a serious role-playing clan. Only way to achieve in-game coms only is, as someone said, by the honor system ands like minded players.

    Abundance is Realism

A list can also be found here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Number_of_guns_per_capita_by_country I am surprised that in my country (The Netherlands) there are still 3.9 firearms per 100 people. In the Russia region it varies from about 5 to 9 firearms per 100 people. So I would estimate Chernarus would have about 7 firearms per 100 people. These numbers do not take into account the number of military weapons, only those owned by civilians. They are estimates and I am not sure if they also estimate illegal guns or just registered firearms.

    can't communicate with anyone

It wouldn't explain why nobody can read what you type in game or why you can't see what they type (unless you are always too far away from them) Not having a mic would only explain why others don't hear you, not why you can't hear them (assuming you hear the normal game audio). I use a normal speaker setup for sound and use a mic in my webcam for direct communication and that works fine, both ways.

    Abundance is Realism

Well I thought you were referencing a real life condition. We have water purification tablets and they are no longer found exclusively in med packs but in sheds and houses. So, within game reality, Chernarus apparently is not so "backward" that they didn't have any purification technology. Assuming there was a need for water purification and the general populous acknowledged this need and acted accordingly (hence the tablets that can be found) it's not such a stretch to assume people soon realized a good water filter would be more practical (and gives a less chemical taste). So considering that a single Sawyer waterfilter (the mini type) can filter up to 100,000 gallon (378,540 Litre) it would be feasible some people had them in Chernarus. So I think we should have them in the game, but they should be rare and considered a priced item! Back to real life, consider that this small waterfilter could filter the daily water needs for 20 people for about 17 years, non stop! (well in theory anyway)

    Abundance is Realism

For cleaning and washing you don't need to filter the water. Just for drinking. A person will need between 2-3 liters per day (depending on conditions and activity and I can filter (with my Sawyer water filter) 1 liter of water in about 2 minutes, not taking collecting the water in account. So 20 x 3 =60 x 2 = 2 hours to filter the daily water need for 20 people. Doable I'd say and can even be done by the children while the adults go hunting, foraging, looting or whatever to bring calories to the table.

    Abundance is Realism

It's a solution to a problem that does not exist in Chernarus, there are fresh water pockets all over the place. Also water can still be brackish even if you can't taste it and may still pose a threat to your health. The proposed method is not ideal and you should, to be 100% sure, still have to desalinate the water one way or the other.

    Abundance is Realism

I think religion is left out with good reasons. The game(-s) would alienate some demographics and/or lead to heated discussions, arguments, hate and so. We have that enough in the real world...

    Abundance is Realism

I guess a large part of Chernarus' population could have left or been evacuated at the time the ZA started and the forces were still able to contain the diseased who may still have been in smaller numbers, and protect the population in certain defended areas. These refugees may have had the time to also take most belongings with them, including their food stocks, maybe protected by mobile forces accompanying them. The government may even have ordered the military to loot abandoned houses and secure resources for the refugee camps outside of Chernarus. Once the zombie virus became too dangerous or the infected too numerous Chernarus may have been locked down or quarantined trapping a handful of survivors with now limited resources. Just trying to think of a scenario that would explain the scarcity.

Visit to Chernarus in real life

Nice, I wasn't aware so much of Chernarus was modelled after existing towns and landscapes. Thanks for sharing.

Using the hood of a hoodie

I like the idea and would like to see it happen but, isn't that what we have the green beanie and green and camouflaged bandana for?

    Difference between standalone and mod?

Obviously DayZ SA has a cat and a dog and DayZ mod doesn't.
