yes you can. At what settings will be a matter of experimenting. Many topics already exist about settings, do a search. Your settings will be in the medium range, expect fps between 25 (cities) and 80 (open country) maybe a little higher. These are the fps I have with lower specs than you and the game performs fine with acceptable graphics. (I have i5 @2.6 GHz, GTX 650 Ti Boost, 8 GB RAM) For my settings and more info see:

@Tigermonk all nice ideas, well done!
-
Well maybe some his ideas get added later during the beta phase. Also to be realistic I don't think we can expect every idea people have to be implemented, like you said these will be up to modders.
-
Yeah I saw, that guy has some great ideas, thanks for sharing.

A tarp can also be used to make a simple boat. Also as a rain catcher. To black out windows. I doubt it will appear in the game. I would not be against it but I would rather first see a camouflaged small tent, like we already see in the miltary camps. Also, tarps or sheets you would find in Chernarus would typically be used by farmers (to cover hay and truck loads) and would most likely have bright colours like blue and orange.

be aware that the Santa has been moved (don't remember where) and the pyramid (which was a texture glitch) has been removed.

In windows 10 you can go to the properties of an .exe and set it to open always "maximized". Also you can open taskmanager, expand the process and right click the running dayz process and select maximize. Not sure if it will help.
-
In earlier patches you could damage the gas tank (losing all gas) and the car would not start, server restarts usually fixed it. Not sure if this is still the case in 0.60, never drove any vehicle in the latest patch.

I ignore the makarov, I'd rather run then try to use it against players or infected. But with a 9 mm I need no more then between 1-3 rounds to kill infected, average is 2 rounds I guess. A .45 will drop them at once, one shot one kill, same for shotgun. I don't pvp much but a single 9mm to the head will drop a player :)

I use .45 for CQ self defense and the 9 mm (with suppressor) for infected. I am pretty sure damage points will be corrected in the future,

Dynamic Player Tags (making you "remember" your friends/enemies)
nl replied to exwoll's topic in Suggestions
Well if someone gave you his nick you could use that and be able to use his name when you encounter again, just like in RL when someone tells you their name, otherwise you will make up your own description. That is most realistic imo. I would prefer no hovering tag at all, only a tag that shows up in the chat when you focus on a player and ONLY if there is a clean line of sight. Did you think about what would happen with your proposal in this scenario: you met a player before, he gave you his nick or you gave him a tag, now you are hunting each other in an area with trees and buildings. What would happen if you came within 50 meters of the other guy who is hiding in a building or foliage, you would see his tag disclose his position? -
Sounds are not ready yet in the game, I am sure wind and such immersive sounds will be implemented, just like the thunder and rain sound we have now. 0.61 will feature some new sounds.

Dynamic Player Tags (making you "remember" your friends/enemies)
nl replied to exwoll's topic in Suggestions
In principle I like the idea but see no reason why another player would have to agree to make a tag public. In my opinion you could or should be able to add a tag of your own description to any player you meet. In real life you could recognize a player you met before without even speaking to or interact with that person. Like "dude that killed 3 infected" or "asshole that tried to kill me" or simply "friendly" or "hostile". That way if you are with another player you could tell them your experiences with a certain player and they could add their own tag. On the other hand, a floating tag above a players' head doesn't really help with immersion. I would much rather prefer we got to see much more variety in players' appearances so you could recognize someone like in real life, based on facial and body type features. Adding beards, control over hear colour and cut, or even a way to fully customize your character by making a larger nose, wider mouth, bigger lips, eye shape and colour, jaw line, eyebrows and so on. -
Barrels stay much longer without interaction, I had one on .60 stable which I checked after about 20 days of ignoring it and it and it's contents were all still there.
-
Not a personal attack but I never understand why people who have questions like these don't tell us what they already checked and tried, like the read only thing and reinstalling. This way my and your time are wasted and frankly de-motivates me to try and help any further... People are really bad at giving relevant info.
-
Delete the current profile and make a new one? (make backup) Or maybe uninstall the game completely and reinstall.
-
Not sure if it will help but you could go to Documents/Dayz and check if the files there are not set to "read only", this should be unticked.
-
True, but I guess some can. We still don't know OP's system specs...
-
possibly you can get a better graphics card for your laptop? Maybe second hand?
-
With version 0.60 some graphic engine specs were upped, this is why you were able to play before but not any more. Many had this problem and are / were angry about it. You need a videocard that supports directx 11 or higher, I bet yours does not. (?) As asked, post your system specs.
-
Simple, your videocard is too old. Need one that supports DX 11 or above, yours probably goes to 10 or lower.
-
My system is slightly below yours and with the settings below I have fine performance, not sure if these are "optimal" though but my fps is between 27-80. I have i5 750 @2.6 Ghz, GTX650 Ti Boost 2GB, 8GB RAM http://imgur.com/a/dwKQm

Sorry I go off topic but damn, are you aware how many emoticons you used in those few sentences? I'll sum them up: lol xD XD xD LOL :P :P xD XD :P xD XD :P less is more mate...

Could be related to drivers I guess or some other software. See this search and read until you find some stuff to try: https://www.google.nl/#safe=off&q=dayz.exe+bad+image You could try doing a clean install of the GPU driver (or update).
-
I had no problems with Dayz when I upgraded from 7 to 10. Later I did a clean install of 10 and also had no problems. @tet5uo are you talking about an upgrade from a previous version to 10 or did you get problems with the latest update?
