Alpha...game is not finished yet.

I logged in yesterday after not having played for a few weeks and noticed all favourites were gone, also all history. Is this on my end or is it related to an update or something?

Apparently this file stores the favorites and history: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\<unique 9 digit number>\7\remote\serverbrowser_hist.vdf.

Only thing in my filter is <100 ms, and BE default, both severs that were online but not in my list were about 35ms ping so should have shown up.

I just checked and 2 servers I had in my favorites were online but did not show up in my favorites list...so mine does seem wiped.

Yes I guess that is possible. Would it work the same for history? Server offline and it don't show up in history?

Of all the things this game still needs you gave priority to flipping a car??? Why would you want to flip a car in the first place? Edit: oh wait, you mean flipping a car back onto its wheels when you crashed it? Doh...

I didn't take into account the netting would be bulletproof, I just answered why in theory the netting would be there. Well you may have experienced in real life that when you are close to netting or something perforated you can see through it pretty good, it's just your eyes that need some holes to look through, your focal point will be farther away. From a greater distance however your silhouette will be camouflaged and low light (shadow) in the tower will largely conceal you and your movement.

So you can look out through the net but are less visible yourself for snipers.

I would not mind if the game was 1pp only but that said, I like 3pp when I play just the PVE aspect of the game, liking to see my gear, animations and so on. If I have to pvp I usually switch to 1pp any way because it helps with aiming, will abuse 3pp sometimes because, well, I can and my adversary uses it most likely against me.

I have to be honest, I am losing some trust lately in what the end product will be. I really hope I am wrong. It somehow feels the momentum has gone and with it my enthusiasm. Maybe it's just blues because the summer is coming to an end.

Landlines are usually not powered by the regular power grid but by the telephone operator and needs very little power to work. (which is why landlines still work when there is a power outage) Of course, Chernarus has it's telephone lines above ground so a large part of the grid would most likely be damaged after an X period of neglect and storms. However, if you look at the pic in post #1 you can see the digital display is on, so I guess the landlines still have power :)

You should not buy it. You obviously are only interested in PVP, there are better games for that. Dayz is a survival game, so PVE first and PVP second if you choose that route.

The lady did some pretty good voice acting! Male was a bit hard to hear.

May I suggest that: A- if you are a newbie you play on less populated servers, this should give you enough opportunity to learn the game B- you actually play the latest patch because the amount of ammo in magazines are already random.

Maybe I understood this wrong but if he actually meant they have about 80% of features already implemented I get a bit worried...I mean the game does not feel layered enough yet and only 20% more features won't change that.

I am not going to invest in this system any more unless I can maybe find a really good deal on 2nd hand parts. I am hoping to replace this system within a year or 2. I expect that my current system will have no problems with Dayz once we reach 1.0 and all is optimized as it already runs decent as is.

I guess I should be more reluctant giving out these advices without doing some research. I sometimes underestimate how good a system I build for myself back in 2009. The original system was the i5 750, 4 GB RAM and a GTS 250 with a MSI P55-GD65 MoBo and the only upgrades I did was going to 8 GB RAM and the GTX 650 Ti Boost (2 GB VRAM) and this system still runs most modern games at medium settings with acceptable fps. I also can easily OC my CPU (3.2 stable) and GPU (about 25%) but I run usually at standard speeds to not cause too much heat damage and I don't like the enhanced noise from my fans. Plus I don't have the funds at the moment to replace my rig so I am careful. I see in comparisons that my CPU is better in speed but would it really make that much difference if you keep lower settings? Or is the 4 vs dual core the main difference?
