    Please Fix Feedback.DayzGame.com

Thank for the links. Will look at them tomorrow. Today is a bit crazy, sorry. If an issue is marked as "Acknowledged", there is no need for you to do anything else as long as it remains in that state. This means we got all we needed to fix the problem. This can obviously take some time as some issues have a higher priority than others which means, that some of the issues will remain in the game even after a patch is released. We don't need to be notified about that, we know about it all too well. If we need you to do anything for us, we will ask for it ourselves in the issue. I have been thinking about having a dropdown menu for version like you describe, but I am a bit worried about what's going to happen with versions in issues once the version they were reported on is no longer available in the dropdown menu. I will have to consult our web design guys, but I will definitely remember to do that. I'm not sure if the FT is able to display issues with a similar title as you're suggesting during the creation of issues, but will look into it. There are some preset filters on the main page (such as the resolved tab). We plan to add a tab with "Acknowledged" bugs which would also serve as a list of currently known issues. Many thanks for taking the time to write this!

    Please Fix Feedback.DayzGame.com

Hello there mr snipes, first of all, thanks for your post. We really appreciate all feedback we can get and try to improve the FT so that it is easy to navigate for all of us. We try to scan primarily for crashes on bi-daily basis, but it is true that we may have been preoccupied with higher priority issues for most of this week. In case you think we missed any reports, please, feel free to post them in here and I will have a look at them or have them looked at. The problem with that is that people would have to always enter the right version in the version field. Sadly, they usually don't. All three are easily done. Set up your filter to search for status "need more info" and the keyword "crash". For known issues you can search for the "acknowledged" status. This will turn up all the issues that are currently known to our team and are being worked on. For fixed issue you can use the "Resolved" window on the main page, which lists the most recently fixed problems, or simply search for all the bugs with the "fixed" resolution. It's true that these get spammed a bit by people being unstuck, but it does work. Is there any reason you don't find these filters satisfactory? Also, please note that just because we don't immediately respond to issues, it does not mean that we don't read them. We read almost everything that is on the FT, but not every post requires a response and sometimes we don't have enough relevant information to share at that time. Please feel free to throw more concerns at me should you have any.

blaeZ is correct. Always respawn before disconnecting until the issue is confirmed as fixed.
  4. My level. Get on it! <_< It's not even all of it.

Broken legs in the ocean no respawn?

It shouldn't and it won't. This is a know issue and we're working on a fix.

    New Experimental?

I played on one of the 100man servers today for a bit. Ended up creating a boxing ring where newspawns fought for batteries. I got a lot of batteries. <_< Purr purr

Yes you are. Hungry =/= Unhealthy

    Is healthy still a thing?

How is that a bug? Of course you need to take damage to start healing. I think that it only doesnt show up if you get energized/hydrated and havent taken any damage since spawning because you are healthy when you spawned and you dont need to be notified of that.
  11. Hello, the "error compiling pixel shader" message basically says that the game cannot compile its core shader code. This can happen when: 1) The game launches with incorrect / corrupted startup parameters. Delete any parameters you might have set. In Steam, you will have to do this: 1. Go to your Steam Library. 2. Right click on DayZ. 3. Click on 'Properties'. 4. Under general tab, click on 'Set launch options...' button. 5. Delete everything in the launch parameter field. 6. With Steam running as Administrator, try to launch DayZ again. 2) Some core files are missing In this case a full reinstall should solve the problem. Remember to also delete the installation directory after uninstalling before installing again.
  12. I thought I'd chip in. To my knowledge, it is not possible for clients to spawn anything at the moment. This change was implemented a few months back so if they indeed spawned these magazines back when it was possible, it's pretty impressive they haven't died since then (even to a glitch). I assume they are actually modifying the items somehow.

It's Usti (or Ústí properly in Czech) dammit :D I might start sending you PMs in bottles down the river then, since our office is right by Vltava which flows into Labe.

    Police and S.W.A.T uniforms/weapons?

You and the DayZ team. <_< Would that be possible? Possibly. Will that be done? I can't say, sorry.

I'd try to say something at least remotely funny in response, but it's too early in the morning.

Quoting Chris Torchia because I thought it's relevant. As for firearms, the P1 pistol is complete and configured in game. The same is true for the AKM but we need to spend some time polishing some of the rough edges before adding them to the loot tables and pushing to public. We’re finally going to implement stripper clips with the mosin and sweep through and tweek some of the firearm cfg values. As well, a little project I’ve kept under wraps is nearing completion. The first SMG in DayZ game will soon be ready and I hope you all will like it. For character art our talented artists have created a couple new player heads for more unique looking characters which we’ll add in soon. As well, we’ve made a Soviet-style officer hat and the tracksuit! Next up, we’ll look at police, EMT, and firefighters.

    [SA] Server Crashes?

Hi, maintenances are indeed done every Wednesday. I'm not sure about the times (mainly because I'm in no way responsible for maintenances) but I do believe DJ SGTHornet is about right.

I can't go into specifics and probably wouldn't even if I could, but I'll try clear something up. ARMA3 was released some months earlier than DayZ, yes. What you don't realize is that when the development of DayZ started, ARMA3 engine was far from being done. You can't make a game on an engine that is not even finished for the game it's developed for. Your example with zombies has nothing to do with the choice of engine per se. We could use the AI from ARMA3, but the design team doesn't like it. It doesn't work for zombies. We are developing a whole new AI for zombies in DayZ. In order for zombies to be good, they need to be bad first. Think of it as growing up of sorts. Adults are smarter than kids. Zombies right now are kids so to speak. They need time to improve. And they will. I'm not sure you can call one engine better than the other. You can say that one is better at/for something though. And I do believe that the engine used by DayZ is pretty good for making DayZ. Some cool new features of the ARMA3 engine have already been ported over to DayZ btw (volumetric clouds, hdr effects iirc). All in all, you're not right in what you're saying. Your assumption is actually quite correct.

Reading this thread makes me feel underappreciated... appreciate me! :( That is not a fact, that is your assumption. If we decided to make DayZ on the ARMA3 engine, the alpha would still be a year or two away, that is a fact. Anyway, guys, I believe that all the info you need is here. The changelogs are posted here. If you want to read something extra, the dev tracker works nicely. The devblogs are all posted here as well. Not every post you make warrants a response from us. At the same time, just because we don't respond, it doesn't mean we don't read. I've read almost all of the suggestions in the suggestions section. Some of the good ones were passed onto the right people on the team. Some were even implemented. If you want us to post, be constructive and think about what you write. I'm much more likely to reply to a well structured, thought out thread than one where people argue and insult one another and derail the thread by doing so. Let's be nice! Let's be friends!

While implementing an "always on" chat would be fairly simple, you are not thinking beyond that. What would this do to bandwith? What would this do to servers? This would cause a LOT of issues which would have to be solved on programming level and trust me.. a programmer's time is expensive. Very, very expensive. The QA time would probably add up as well. I'm not entirely sure you're correct on this. I'm not at liberty to explain why, but I don't believe it's as simple as you think.

I too understand where you're coming from. However, changing the sound input is probably as much of an extra step as connecting to a TS server. Probably even less effort than that as it's literally one click. Sure, not many people might realize this at first but the word would spread fairly quickly. I personally see no reason to do this. Yes, people will communicate through 3rd party programs and get an advantage, but the same can be said about literally every other multiplayer game that is out there.

Taking things to an extreme: if we (somehow) prevent people from using 3rd party comms, they will use their phones instead. Will you then demand that we make it so that people aren't able to use phones while playing DayZ?
