the new girls/robots/crackheads in town
Accolyte replied to DropBearChick's topic in General Discussion
That's just mean, Hombre. Faces have erorrs? Do I want to know? t's funny reading the feedback on the faces. I know some of the people who were the models for these and I actually hope they don't come across this thread. Although I did laugh out loud a few times like a proper bad person while reading. I have to say that the faces resemble the actual person really well. I'm quite impressed with them. -
EXP - Map now shows the players exact position
Accolyte replied to gibonez's topic in General Discussion
This doesn't seem to happen on the latest experimental either I'm afraid. Not to me anyway. -
EXP - Map now shows the players exact position
Accolyte replied to gibonez's topic in General Discussion
Hey, I wasn't able to reproduce the problem on either experimental or our internal build. I don't see anyone's position on the map. Can someone else confirm this issue and/or provide a description of their actions before seeing anyone pop up on the map? Thanks! -
What's the current hacking status like in DayZ:SA?
Accolyte replied to RadikulRAM's topic in General Discussion
There are too many misconceptions in regards to scripting and hacking and what either actually are. Like I said, the client cannot override the server, therefore scripting is pretty much impossible in DayZ at this point. Is what hackers are doing at the moment "hacking"? Yes and no. It depends on your definition of hacking. I will not discuss the specifics of it though. At which point did I say that people teleporting and whatnot is ok? I was merely pointing out the difference between hacking and scripting. Don't blow this out of proportion please. -

Although I might know the numbers, you'll understand that it's not something that should be public knowledge. Suffice to say that it's nowhere near as dramatic as you seem to think. -

Not scripting. You can sure PM me a link to the hack and I'll have a look at it. That's a massive exaggeration and you know it ;) That's not scripting. You are wrong ;) -

Accolyte replied to RadikulRAM's topic in General Discussion
No. Either these people were hacking into the game (not scripting) or they were lying. It's not possible for the client to override the server. -

Fixed that for ya ;) edit: And it's not a problem. -
Like I said. Someone kills the actual hacker, perhaps surprises him and he doesn't get a shot off. The person goes in, not looking at the ammo count he takes the M4 from the dead body. Following your logic he should now be banned. This makes no sense to me.

We can't do anything with that information. BattlEye might, but I honestly don't know. That's something you have to ask them.
-
Nowhere. He's twisting Kichilron's words around. What we said (what I said) was that someone who picks up the magazine might not notice something is wrong with the magazine straight away. He might also think it's bugged, not hacked. I said I think it would be unfair if such people were banned when they technically did nothing wrong. Kichilron then went on saying that someone who's not as good with mathematics might not understand what 2500e10 means and therefore might not realize what the actual ammo count is. I assume that's what Zedertone is talking about.

You didn't though. I have tested this yet again. Will always kill my target in 1-2 shots if hitting the torso. Headshots are almost always a one hit kill (colleague who was the target was wearing a helmet). It takes longer to kill someone if you hit their legs, but that kinda makes sense. Ranges we covered were point blank, 2m, 5m, 10m, 20m. Always the same result. Note that the shotgun firing a single pellet is a known problem and is being looked into.

So placing the Bible in my Press Vest did this..

For which we are thankful :) -
What's the current hacking status like in DayZ:SA?

No one is banned for using non-hack programs (like Fraps, overlays, etc.), picking up or using hacked in-game items, weapons or vehicles, being on a server at the same time as a cheater, or other passive non-cheating activity. No details about your ban (including evidence) will be revealed. Hackers would love to have access to this information and therefore we cannot disclose that. Here are some quotes from the BattlEye FAQ. Because I have some understanding of how BattlEye operates I can assure you that these are absolutely true and no such thing as a false ban exist, excepting one incident in the past which was rectified immediately. BattlEye is also under no pressure to issue bans to "meet some numbers" like you suggested, therefore there is no reason for them to do that. You can only get banned for running some sort of a malicious software. If (and this is a big if) there was something running without your knowledge, Im afraid that is your responsibility and your problem. The criteria for the product being available to use (or the opposite for that matter) are outlined in the respectable TOS and EULA to which you have to agree to before even running the game. If you break either (even unknowingly), access to the software can and will be denied which is a standard practice anywhere really. -

Accolyte replied to RadikulRAM's topic in General Discussion
We are. But you will understand if I cant really go into detail on things such as this. Punishing someone for something someone else did doesn't seem fair to me, personally. You would end up punishing a lot of people who would be genuinely unaware of what sort of an item they picked up. They could simply just not notice that there is something wrong with the mag before using it. On the other hand spawning a can of beans should indeed be treated the same way as spawning a weapon or an infinite mag. It doesn't matter what item they spawned, its the fact they spawned something that is the problem. I am no programmer or database tech to know all the intricacies of the inventory system. There are a couple of things in the background you're not aware of however and I cant discuss those, sorry. Suffice to say it may not be as easy as it seems at first. -

Swap the word "weapon" in my previous post for (any item that is in the game). The logic remains the same. I looked. What about it? -

Accolyte replied to RadikulRAM's topic in General Discussion
Sigh.. no. That is not what I said at all. You took what I said and interpreted it your way. Picking up a hacked weapon, will not get you banned. Spawning a hacked weapon should obviously get you banned. Are we clear now? ;) -

Accolyte replied to RadikulRAM's topic in General Discussion
You cannot.. and I stress cannot be banned for using a hacked weapon/magazine/can of beans/pair of shoes. The only way you will ever be banned is if you actively use some sort of a hack or if you tamper with your .pbo files. And yes, that is true. -
2 things NEEDED to be fixed in next update.
Accolyte replied to Insane Ruffles's topic in General Discussion
But friend, that's literally what alpha is. That's what beta is ;) It makes no sense to be constantly stabilizing the game while new content (which will more than likely introduce more bugs) is introduced to the game. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sisyphus -
2 DayZ SA copies, 2 Steam Acc., one computer
Accolyte replied to BrianWithAY's topic in Troubleshooting
The characters that are spawned on a server are bound to the active Steam ID. It should be impossible to spawn in the game with a character that belongs to another Steam profile. The character that shows up in the main menu is the last character that was played on your computer no matter which account you are logged into. Try connecting to a server to see what character you end up playing as. -
That's what they want you to think man..

I just teleported myself outside, spawned me some epic gear and Im coming for you now.
