  1. Hello lovely community. I didn't find a "questions" forum so I'll just write this up here. I would like to ask the very "broad" question of "what is the final game supposed to feel like compared to it's current state". Let me break this down into the following: - Loot Since 0.35 I cannot for the life of me find a can opener - I hate that and that's why I love it. Spawning with a hungry character, having to spill half of your beans because you have no choice but to open it with a frigging axe is what DayZ should be about - making everyday items so valuable, that you would trade anything for them and - yes, possibly kill for them. I think the new scarcity of bagpacks plays into this very nicely as well. Of course it increases the risk of bandits kiling you on sight just because you have a backpack - but that's still a reason vs. no reason at all :) Also: are there currently - and will there be in the future - buildings with 0% loot spawn chance? There are a couple of house types that I cannot help but feeling like an idiot entering them - jsut to find nothing. Will the spawn chance be public available information? I think it feels great to have an edge over other players by knowing where to look, but I think this knowledge should come from playing, not reading up on a wiki. That's why I also think there should be no kinda "hardcoded" dead loot spots - depending on how desperate you are it should ALWAYS be possible to find SOMETHING EVERYWHERE, no matter how little the chances. - Gear As I cannot wait to get my hands on a pair of binoculars I was wondering: is it unrealistic to be able to peek through a scope without having it attached to the weapon? That would just be so cool to keep a long range scope in your backpack solely for scouting reasons. - Weather Is it supposed to be raining as frequently in the final game as it is now on the experimental branch? Or is this for testing purposes? I mean it's friggin' raining all the time. I love the idea of the weather as an antagonist, but with ANY realistic relation to sickness, degrading of items etc. I cannot see myself surviving this at all, especially as a lone bambi. - Zombies I know the current respawning-logic isn't final yet and of course it's a big damper on the immersion if a zombie pops up right in your viewport - but that's being worked on. I just wanted to say that I think the sheer NUMBER of zombies including the respawning makes the game insanely more fun. I have tried playing alone, in a group af 2 and up to 5 people and it's hilarious. A friend and I were running towards the lumber mill coming from the hospital at Berezino and it was just non-stop action swatting zombies with a wrench, trying to find a place to hide and bandage up just to be approached by the next pair of Z's. That was so much fun. I think with the AI a little more functional - so that you can actually sneak by and hide from zombies - there almost cannot be too many of them in the scope of what makes sense "computationally". Okay, enough for now. This was just off the top off my head - I'll be back with more for sure. :) Happy Surviving!

General targeted "feel" of the game once it goes beta/gold

Thank you for the time and effort spent coming up with this answer - appreciate it. Imo the developers have to have a general idea where they are going, otherwise it would be silly making this game. "Is the amount of rain as intended or is it raining that much because of testing reasons" seems easy enough to answer.

    Colour blind mode...

I would like to bump this post and it's content - as well as all the good and kind words towards your work that came with it. I'm a huge fan and I cannot imagine life without DayZ anymore :) That's why I'd be even more happy to be able to say "Yes, the developers of (one of) my favourite game(s) actually listened and did something about an issue that has been ignored in software development for all too long. Whenever I see a red vs. green indicator as the only possible way to tell the different state of a device etc. I just get a little mad. I can never tell if my Wii is on, if my Router is working etc. In software this is always so easy to solve - just use symbols borders, background texture, whatever - that I cannot imagine why it would not be done. How a medium to large development team can NOT include a colorblind male is a statistical miracle to me. just my two cents :)
