    You can have your team join in another slot that wasn't previously played by a person. But yeah, it's a brutal mission. My tip: stick close together, diamond formation. Move slowly, be thorough. Stop when the SHTF, call your targets. Don't panic. Have the point-man a person with a light (G17) and not a firer. All round defense is your only option. Don't rush, take your time, be thorough, and HAVE A PLAN.

    Did you see that killshot he made near the end? Serious, serious props to the guy. That was at least 400m, on a moving target in foliage, in bad weather. Even with the DMR, that is fucking impressive. One shot kill.

    Chernarus Apocalypse is extremely good. If you head over to Armaholic you can find it. You don't need any addons, but make sure you start arma without DayZ enabled. There are three episodes, get your friends together for it - it is extremely chilling.

    Global/Side channels are not available to use in DayZ - only direct.
  18. Well, if there is ever the need for evidence that the core concept is alive and well - 1.7.1 will be it. I mean, shit. Starting players aren't going to have a weapon. That is fucking cruel!

  22. I think it's not so much the size, as the rapid growth (much more than ArmA2 on it's release), and its method of growth, that has surprised everyone. I also think that many people overestimate the quantity of sales that a game usually makes. A very small number of games are responsible for most sales. Having your game sell over 500,000 copies in it's lifetime is a significant achievement for ANY game studio. A large number of the unique ID's are new copies, somewhere in the region of 170,000 or so. And that's been in just about two months. Also, the fact the game is very old (relatively speaking) and is outselling new releases - people want to know why.
