    That was from the intended build notes. If you read the actual build notes, you will see only a few animations actually made it into the build. One being the monkey run. The others needed some work still so I didn't put them in.

    Certainly that was my experience in the first 40minutes I played of the new update, on a fresh character.
  3. Actually, try increasing some of the settings. If you set them all to low, everything is offloaded on the CPU. ArmA is a very CPU intensive game so it will quickly bottleneck. Try setting everything to normal, and set the shadows to disabled or high. Also v-sync as suggested.

    Most important update from the build notes: * Raytracing doesn't work so well inside some buildings at the moment so interiors will ignore raytracing Hence, inside you can be hit through walls. By next update I should have this fixed.

    Honestly it isn't something I have looked at, as the Beta is in flux (obviously) and once the BIS changes are stable I will take a look at them. I'll talk to Dwarden though, I believe he has been looking at some settings to make it work great. Don't ask me for relationship advice, I'm 31 and single. I go clubbing and I have a cleaner.
  7. No it wasn't handled well, or professionally. But this isn't a professional project. And I think that is why this is successful. Will I learn from this? Maybe, I hope so. I'm just doing the best with what I have, the only real rule is that we're honest. So when we're trolling, we're trolling. I even take the time to go out to the different communities and post honest responses in their forums. That's a great risk, it is very easy to say something wrong or that people take the wrong way. But I do that because it's part of this. At the end of the day, hackers/cheaters got banned. Mission success.

    Right, I played from scratch for the last 40 minutes. Can't even recall what server. I spawned on the beach, with nothing. Some dude nearby had a marakov with a little ammo. I ran beside him and we talked. We bro-opped and I found a weapon. We continued. We met another dude, chatted, and parted ways. Not starting with a weapon meant I didn't get shot. And because zombies are a total threat now, people are focusing on the zombies. The dude we met got mobbed and we tried to help him but he died, and we looted his corpse. He was well tooled. I'm calling these changes as good, based on that small playthrough. Added a whole new level of excitement at the start. YMMV...
  10. Yes, most of the servers are trolling. I get kicked too. A few are working. Make sure you are running the LATEST beta.

  13. Rough outline of what to expect in the pending update. I will update this as more stuff is put in. Changelog will then follow it. Performance and Optimization - Reduction/elimination of the new server lag. This is caused by the ArmA2 server expecting immediate response from the central server. Vehicles are the main cause of this, as whenever they are damaged everything stops while the server ensures this is recorded in the database. - Bugs fixed that were possibly causing very significant netcode overhead (will need mass-scale testing to verify this). Infected Behavior - Infected can no longer see/attack through walls. - Entirely new mocap'd attack and running animations Content - Additional Idle Infected sounds - Revised Attack sounds - Many new action sounds, including IV, bandaging etc... Notes - This update will REQUIRE the beta patch, so it is worth installing this now and getting used to it. - Read up at the BI Forums about the beta patch install. It's pretty easy.     That's the idea, but I want to replace the entire ammo class structure anyway, with something that works for transferring the ammo between different mag types using this base system in the update.
