  2. HOTFIX : 17 JUNE 2012 Affected addons: * dayz_code 1.7.1.1 * dayz_server (only for server admins) Developer's Note: * Performance issues were associated with loot cleanup not working. This has been fixed. * Each time you start a new character, you will get the gender selection dialog. * INFECTED AND LOOT RESPAWN IS STILL QUITE BUGGED. NEEDS ALOT OF WORK. BUT IT SHOULD BE MANAGEABLE NOW. Changelog: * [FIXED] Server item cleanup error (thanks Dwarden for identifying) * [FIXED] Server weighted random object error (thanks Dwarden for identifying) * [REVERT] 5 second delay for disconnecting (will need to wait till new method developed) * [REVERT] Disabling of interior raycasting (will mean some buildings you will be invisible/can't be hit in for the moment as they don't have view LODs) * [REVERT] Infected sight based on head not body direction (infected glace around alot, this meant that they had super view directions.   7. The problem is' date=' that's a very objective word. What I am trying to do, is find the recipe for a fix that [b']I am happy with. That means a considerable amount of experimentation and things will probably get worse before they get better. Very early in this project, I read something on 4chan that has stuck with me the whole way through development: > How is it possible that this game is better than any professionally developed game to be released in 2012? >Goddamn. By gamers for gamers? Its not a product of bazillion board meetings and marketing studies. The forums has been a great source of engagement and feedback, BUT, it's starting to remind me of marketing meetings where people can't handle experimental change. Usually, that change gets WORSE before it gets better. Every update, there is doom and gloom 1.5.0 was the end of the world, so was 1.6.0. People refused to move to them. Now, we have people asking for revert. Such short memories. The build is not as intended because it is bugged. I've stated that. A hotfix will be produced and will continue to be produced until the build is where it is intended to be. Then it will be assessed on it's merits and a decision made then. I don't give a fuck if, during that process, only five people play it. I don't care if you're not having fun now, cause I certainly aren't, and the build isn't as intended. What I care about is the end result, we just need to bare through this until the hotfix gets the build stable. Then we assess it. Until then, constructive feedback is good but people need to stop repeating, and focus on responding only if they have something to add to the discussion.
  8. 1.7.1 is less than 24 hours old. 1.7.1.1 hotfix is even younger. It's good to get some feedback, I'm aware of the issues, please remember the current build is not as intended.

  10. Guys and girls. If everyone posts the same stuff a million times, I can't find out the unknown issues. There is an unknown issue with tents, can anyone explain any more detail other than HURRR DURR they don't work.
  11. Food Water to be fixed in a hotfix released tonight. Along with maybe some other goodies... PS. Don't stress guys! Someone people get really upset the direction of the game is destroyed... trying things out here, and things break occasionally... such is life in the zone, man!

    It's pending. We're testing it very thoroughly. When a rolling update notice is posted, you'll know it is live.
  19. I'm not really "listening" to anyone in particular. I'm trying stuff out. People told me I was insane when I pitched them the basic concept, so I want to explore that concept and find the left and right of arc for it.

    It's bugged. Those who selected female reverted back to male. Until this is fixed, everyone can select their gender. Fixed in a future update.
